  1. Key point - has there ever been any 'issues' or celeb type contact between MLT and Ince in the past? Will there be a meeting of the minds (5 year plan to the Prem might be a good start!)? If so and its sustainable, then I can see no reason why Ince might not be a superb appointment actually. He was on course to achieve with the Dons what Pearson did at Leicester but without the money and that is the biggest issue with him - will he turn his back on the club the moment a bigger offer comes in, or will he stay the course? This is something even Pinnacle will not be able to answer, but if they've got a good strategy it will include indemnity against the manager being poached if he's getting results.
  2. Simple really - we need someone of Rasiaks standing to muscle his way to 20+ goals this season. There is no other striker at the club that will do that for us IMO.
  3. Mmm, thats a good shout if he's a Saints fan in particular. Otherwise Rod S.
  4. £295 tops for centre line Kingsland ST holders IMO. Will show a real thanks to those who stayed loyal last season despite the prospect of another season of dross and lack of ambition from Lowe's regime.
  5. Got to say that, despite some on here dissing the new website, for once they seem to have come up with a real gem here... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1691048,00.html This is the quality of article that I feel we've been missing for SO many years...linking old with current staff for example (e.g. Puckett). I applaud wholeheartedly this renewed outlook and I really hope that MLT/Pinnacle either have something to do with this, or they recognise that this is the way forward. Well done Saints.
  6. Understand your point Trousers, but to be fair there is absolutely nothing to suggest that following completion of takeover the new owner will not reveal him/her self. It's difficult not to speculate when we all want the news that's not available, however it's now only a matter of a few days before we can start talking really important things like players, formations and the like. We all need a collective chill pill.
  7. You've said all I wanted to - thanks...good post.
  8. Great post that reveals the utter madness of Lowe's experiment. Thanks for posting that - it should remind us all that Wotte is nowhere near qualified to ensure Saints survival in L1, let alone mount a serious challenge to escaping back to the CCC. Leave Wotte in place = more failure and another probable relegation.
  9. Err, you mean it took a 2nd relegation to drag Lowe and Wilde screaming to the administrator prior to wrestling control from them surely?
  10. Does anyone use the The Joshua Tree - just down road from SMS?
  11. Yep, I agree UmP. But still don't want to see his awful tactics and results at SMS next season thanks - if anyone can cement us a L1 place, its Wotte. IMO.
  12. You must be the type of guy that goes fishing with a loud flourescent jacket on and 10lb line to catch a sprat - right?! LOL
  13. You mean you should have posted on the "nothing" thread eh Trousers?
  14. Thanks Mike - typical that we've decided to go away on my birthday and I'll probably miss the big announcement after all this waiting. Oh well, as long as its good news I can live with that.
  15. If it happens on the 18th that will be a fantastic 50th birthday pressie for me! Especially if ST sales are released too. Wooohooo!
  16. Thanks - doubt we'll be visiting again in the near future, but you never know. Was out in LA two years ago - wife has a cousin on the suburbs. I used to go out there on business some years ago (mainly Orange County) and never really liked LA much. But when we visited the relatives we got to see some of the non-tourist places and the area did grow on me a bit more actually. I remember a nice restaurant - "Robins Ribs" (Ribs Rock at Robins!) - do you know that place? We were there just before the £ took a tumble and the rate was 2-1 - we seemed to be shopping all the time and had to buy another suitcase in the end! Good memories - cheers.
  17. Thanks for that...
  18. Err, are you an ex-player then Ottery?
  19. Perhaps - just perhaps - I was inferring that the silence was due to the hard work going on in the background? Jeez...some of you are so wound up you jump down others throats so readily...
  20. Well said...the agony it seems is far from over yet and the silence from the club is telling.
  21. Surprise, surprise...although I would be happy for Leon to take a place, its no surprise that this story has been manufactured by some mischief maker. What is taking the time I wonder? It would be good to know when everything is done and dusted just how much turmoil Lowe left behind. Lessons learnt and all that. If true, that tends to suggest that Wotte is manager then - not a particularly awesome start to a new regime. This was my one big fear for the incoming Board - not showing from the offset that a new level of ambition and vigour was to be the norm. If true, it seems we're set for another rubbish season of Wotte style football. Good - I hope these idiots get locked up.
  22. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1688752,00.html Great to see one of my boyhood heroes finally get an honour he deserves. What a pity though that SFC is in such turmoil still that Saints can't host him at SMS to allow the fans perhaps just one more chance to show him how much affection is held for him. It really would be a chance for the new owner(s) to show recognition and respect for Saints great history.
  23. I think it will have less to do with MLT and new owner, than the first few decisions made regarding (a) the managerial appointment, (b) what new signings are made to replace the inevitable leavers and © the results over the first five games of the season (especially if the -10 is overturned by the courts).
