Real Madrid had something like 14/15 managers in thirteen seasons and during that period won La Liga no fewer than 8 times and were crowned Champions of Europe twice... Continuity and stability in management are much over-rated.

LTC's three point plan for football success: 1. Find and employ the best manager available. 2. Back him. Oh, so simple we didn't need a third point.

It does say something about Southampton. So bad even then we were the only people beaten by the French... plus ça change as we should be saying

Magnificent. Do we know a great lawyer who also happens to be a Saints fan to seek our reparations??? Hey, what about that Salz bloke...

For my part, I could give a t0ss if you call the organisation Harold. I don't care who's involved. I don't care about what people have said, say and will say. None of us is without fault in life. If we can save our club - which is all anyone cares about today, then good luck to you. Just tell those of us who are not fussed about the details where to send the cheque. If we make our focus saving the club we love, the rest will fall into place.

Whatever he says and however ham-fistedly, the message is clear. Rather than debate it (because there is no point) either support it or feck off. It's pretty simple, I'm afraid.

We HAVE to fill the ground for Burnley

When will people get it. The current team are F U C K I N G irellevant. I am not going to save their sorry skins, I am going to save My CLUB - I am going for Steve Moran, for Adrian Heath, for Wembley, for Watford (7-1), for Kevin Keegan, for Alan Ball, for Souness, for Channon, for Danny Higginbotham, for Ted Bates, for Lawrie, for everything this club has given and TAKEN from me over the years. I have invested cash (meaningless). But above all I have invested MY LIFE. You cannot get that back people. All the time, all the effort, all the joy and all the pain. That is why I want to see Southampton FC survive. Because behind me is a shirt signed by our cup final side. And a ball signed by the relegation side. Behind me are books by Duncan. Behind me now is a sensational pictorial history the staff of my company LOVINGLY put together on my club and presented to me. I am going to throw good money after bad, because it's just MONEY. Do you want to know who we were playing when I got married? When my kids were born? When I lost my cherry??? For once - set aside your cynicism and downright hatred and look inside what used to be your heart and if you STILL cannot find time for this club and to help it survive, you were simply passing through and never really supported it at all. Good luck to you. -

Guys, you need to get together and resolve this like men. -
Bit painful but if it will save the club...

If you're owed, you're owed! But yes, I still have papers coming through now telling me how much money Grant Thornton are spending NOT getting my money back...

All creditors get a report telling them what's going on. But I'd be surprised if there was much of an update yet.

You can't have been supporting very long then... -
lol, would crumble too easily and too soft in the middle, not what the club needs!
-
tax dodger, coffin dodger, who gives a t0ss as long as someone buys us!!!!
-
Philip Green I reckon...

Comparable scenario??? League Champions, Multiple European Champions and World Club Champions... give me a break... When we were in the Premiership we sold 32k tickets every other week. If we sold that many now, there would be no need for investment, the club would not be for sale and there would be no opportunity to make a return on my investment would there.... If I am thinking about buying SFC it's because I can make an improvement and increase income. It's called business turnaround. If I am buying Manchester United it's because the business is already a screaming success.

It's a fair argument. But when you couldn't trust the board to spell truth how were people to know how grave the situation really was?? Now we know. So if people are still prepared to watch us fall over the cliff, they have themselves to answer to, no one else. -

Over my lifetime son, I've probably spent your entire salary this year and then some on this club. I wasn't asked. It was my choice. You have no idea what I've invested to date to help stave off administration, nor what I've pledged. So would suggest you have a chat with your own conscience and leave me with mine eh? -

When it comes to decisions, you can only do what YOU can. Or you can sit and see what others do. I have always wanted to lead by example and be satisfied that when it comes to pulling weight, I've done my bit. If others choose not to, that's a decision they have to reconcile with their God. I'll reconcile my decisions with mine. It's my considered wish that more people in the world woke up thinking the same. -

Thank you Phil - that sums up the importance of what Saturday means. No more words from me necessary. -
West Ham Parent co in Administration
Legod Third Coming replied to Clapham Saint's topic in The Saints
Er, we're both in trouble because primary sources of funding have been withdrawn. Amounts to the same thing in my book. No Icelandic banking crisis, no need for Barclays not to extend their overdraft facility. What about Manchester United, what was there annual loss? Or Chelsea's? When you take away the debt... -
Er, apart from when he took over Palace in 17th place and got them promoted to the Premiership... He was then given 15 games at Charlton (at the end of which they were still in the Premiership) And was then fired by QPR when they were what 7th? Since when QPR have had 37 managers - most fired for refusing to allow Briatori to pick the team, or ****ging his missus (allgedly)
