If true Les has to go for conflict of interest surely? Doesn't surprise me at all in honesty. Reed seems a money grabbing ****. Wonder if that rumour about him getting a % of transfer deals is true also now.
-
I agree with you 100%. When Les and Co started talking about getting into the CL and not having to sell people it set unrealistic expectations here. However on the other hand he hasn't actually made any promises at all, not even talked about his plans. The bit about investment in the club is worrying to me because it sounds as though he doesn't plan to do that and will follow Kats plan of loaning the money to the club with the intention of getting it back + interest. Which is fine as its a business after all. But right now we are showing what happens when you don't invest and you stand still. Even if it isn't his own money a lot of the vvd money needs to go into the club and buy players. Good players. That won't be cheap in the January window. But that is a consequence of poor planning and action from the board in previous windows. We have to spend money now due to their mistakes.
-
Of course. But our slide has been going on longer than August right? He is saying that the vvd created a negative atmosphere at the club. But yet it was fine only a few months ago? Sounds like playing the easy excuse card to me.

Oh dear oh dear.... Is this the same guy who said '“Mauricio Pellegrino has done an amazing job of dealing with this situation. It has not disrupted our team, It is not in any way caused a lack of focus in training, in the locker room, and of course everybody will open their arms when Virgil comes back" http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-chairman-ralph-krueger-insists-10998617

I think they have the joint worst away record or something so I think we should win this one quite comfortably. Had more time off and don't have the amount of injuries they have. I'm going for a 3-1 Saints win. Shlong to end his drought, in the rain.
-
Didn't you say the same thing last week? How did that turn out? Think you need a break mate as you have been having a shocking few months on here.

How Leicester are winning is crazy. They are getting battered. Hope they can keep them out and beat the dirty scousers.

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk

Affecting morale?! What a load of rubbish. I guess Morgan and Wanyama affected morale too right? As for the second part are you seriously saying we couldn't wait until the summer?! Think it's you who is the moron if you believe that. -
As if we will be spending that money on players. Some of you need to get real. Some of it will go in Reeds pocket and the rest will go to paying off some of the owners loan.

Pathetic decision. Well your best player when you are in a relegation battle. Don't know what is worse us selling or people thinking we will actually put that money back into the team... -
2 goal keeper howlers doesn't even cover the fact we were so awful. That was worse than that Arsenal game under Puel last season.
-
Can't stop letting in goals? Answer is to sell one of the best defenders in the world. Genius!
-
7 defensive players again. Set up to not lose rather than not win again. Can't see anything other than a defeat...again. Sadly I got a feeling this could be the game where we actually get proper stuffed. Spurs have pace but also some big physical bastards who will nullify Romeu and co. Plus players who given half a chance to strike will take it.

Which raises the question of who isn't actually telling us the truth? As someone else pointed out mp said only a few days ago that he was told there were no talks going on with vvd. He said he met Les that morning and asked him about it and was told "don't think so". Which suggests either mp was lying to us and knew about it and was not "resting" vvd as he claimed. Or Les lied about it and didn't tell mp we were in talks to sell him. Either way the club have ****ed up by keeping it silent. If they said there were talks going on that might bring other clubs to the bidding table. Why only talk with one buyer when you could potentially get a better deal from someone else? For me this next month could be the moment we look back on in years to come and say "xyz" should not have happened. Virgil is not playing at his best but nobody is. We are in a relegation fight and do people feel more confident with Yoshi and Hoedt at the back or vvd and one of them? Selling your best player when you are struggling in January is just pure craziness. It doesn't matter what the manager is doing, it is about the decisions behind the scenes that are being made and by doing this we are making ourselves even weaker. That to me is nuts.
-
As said in the other thread. He is just the fall guy for Reeds poor decisions and shadowy dealings. The poor guy doesn't even seem to know if vvd is being sold even after Les told him he wasn't but was not available to be picked to play. Just a poor gullable chump being thrown under the bus by Reed.
-
Kind of feel a bit sorry for him as its obvious he is just a yes man doing what Reed tells him to. And whilst Reed is trying to sell VVD behind the scenes he's telling MoPo nothing's going on. Nothing more than the fall guy for Reed's shady dealings.
-
Should be 0-2 already
-
He is probably thinking "haha these idiots think the manager has been picking the team!".
-
What amazes me is people are saying sell and put that money into the team. What if our owners who took out a loan to buy the club want to use that money to pay that off rather then put it back into the team? Either way selling your best players in January when the club are struggling (2 wins in 13 and 1 in 9) is madness.
-
Don't think anyone bid for him did they? Can only sell someone if a club actually puts an offer in. I'm sure if Liverpool had put a £70m bid in Reed would of accepted it without a doubt. Probably has some clause where he gets a % of transfer fees.
-
If we play 7 defence minded players at home to Huddersfield that will be shocking.
-
Indeed but as pointed out the vast majority of the squad that got us those promotions was put together before Reed was brought in. Reed obviously played some role in our promotions but to think he played a bigger part than Cortese is a joke. Regardless of history he has done some good at this club and to forget that is silly. But the decline was well and truly started under his guidance. Question is can he stop making poor decisions that continue to take us backwards? Guess we will find out.
-
Looks like Hughes will be the next to get sacked then. Don't Watford normally go down goals and come back? They do seem to have some brainless players in Deeney and co. For all our faults at least we don't have players who lose their mind and get sent off all the time.

Commentator basically saying how **** we have become....

I find what you say quite interesting. If you spend that much on Saints then fair play to you. I'm pretty sure the average person on the street couldn't do that. As you say you are lucky enough not to care about the costs. Naturally from high up there you will see things differently from those down here. That is where football has gone. The lower income people cannot afford to go to the matches as they have been priced out by the clubs we support. They are so grateful for the support that regardless of making a mega fortune from tv deals they continue to keep ticket prices high. As you say if you cant afford to go then why bother right? I used to have three season tickets for me and my sons but no longer can justify paying the amount I was. When you are near to the bread line you have to decide what is more important? Being able to pay rip off fuel prices, house prices and food or spend all that money going to the games? I am very happy you can afford to do so without a care in the world and are a great supporter. More so then us who can no longer go. The other thing I find interesting is as you say you criticise the club, the players, the manager and so on. A quick look at your posts shows you are not a fan of Tadic, Redmond or Forster? Even impying that they should be replaced? So what is it you are supporting exactly and how is that different from what others are saying? Everyone wants the club to do well. And no matter where we are or what league we are in it will continue to be supported. However to suggest it isn't entertainment is just wrong. Football is a sport and is a spectacle thus is entertainment. The more entertaining something is the better it will do. More people will become interested and more money will be made from it. Look at attendances in the PL in comparison to the other leagues. People pay a lot of money to go watch the games. Even you I am sure wouldn't pay 3k to watch a team that was beat and playing poor every week ie Sunderland?
