  1. I certainly would rather have Hammond in reserve rather than Wotton, but I think that he's good enough for the first team. I'd rather see Morgan on the bench with a defensive midfielder bought in, allowing Hammond to push forward more often.
  2. Hammond on the bench?!
  3. I think that Hammond is easily our best player at winning the ball in and around the opposition's penalty area; he looks like he really wants the ball and always wins 50-50s. Therefore I feel that if we could bring in a new Defensive midfield, to take responisbility for winning the ball on the edge of our own box, I think we would get far more out of Hammond, as he'd be able to get forward more often.
  4. Guess it will either have to be Mills or Play Papa on the left, Antonio on the right and Connolly up front.
  5. Boothroyd's teams are always strong, powerful and direct. Therefore Jaidi and Hammond are going to have to be at the top of their game,
  6. Young Adult (21 n under) tickets £12 Adult £18 I think.
  7. I don't think it's fair to simply look at the season with just the minus ten in mind. In my opinion we must also consider our lack of pre-season when looking at the progress we make and trying to calculate where we will end up. Take off the first ten games, games in which we were still finding our feet, and in 13 games we have earned 29 points. That is an average of over 2.2 points per game. If we were to keep up this ratio we will gain about another 51 points; easily enough to see us comfortably inside the playoffs if not the top 2. Obviously there are going to be slip ups and dips in performance, and we are not likely to get quite that many more points, but I feel something would have to go majorly wrong for us not to be in the top 6 by the end of the season.
  8. Yeahh I thought that too. I'm definitely going to the game, going up on a mini bus, just have to try to convince them to leave the pub 5 minutes early. Worst comes to worst I'll have to sit in the home end. Sure I'll be alright though.
  9. Cheers Bungle, not sure how long before the game I'll be able to get there but hopefully should be able to grab one.
  10. Anyone know how many sold? And whether they will be available on the gate? Forgotten to buy mine
  11. How Lambert didn't score that chance for his hattrick against Tranmere i don't know. But that may go down as a great save rather than a terrible miss?
  12. Ah okay cheers. Guess the best bet is to get up the stadium early tomorrow and see what they have for us.
  13. Evening all, my Dad and brother have decided they want to go to the game tomorrow if they can get tickets. I'm hoping to book the tickets online, using my account, today so that they can collect them tomorrow before the game. I know how to do all that but I'm slightly confused as to what tickets I need to get. My brother is 16, so obviously falls into the '16 and under' category as listed in the ticket pricing. However, on the booking website this is not an option. Or can I get the £10 offer? There is a 'junior with adult' option, does anyone know if this is the right one, i.e the same as 'Adult and 16 and under pair'? If so, I can select 2 tickets on the first page, then put one as 'adult' and one as 'junior with adult' on the next page. I think this is the right one but if anyone could confirm that'd be great. Merry Christmas by the way!
  14. I was looking for past results, because I thought the time we beat Tottenham 1-0 was on boxing day, but turns out it was on New Year's day. Anyway, it reminded me why I should hate Tottenham. The first sentence of the Spurs written article reads lol
  15. I just remembered i haven't bought my ticket for this one yet. Does anyone know if I order it online I will be able to pick it up after the game on Boxing day?
  16. I spend a lot of time (probably more than is good for me) looking on other teams' forums when we are due to play them in the near future, and I can confidently say that this is by far and away the best Forum I have been on; in terms of layout, ease of use, the quality and quantity of posts and the way it is moderated. So cheers for that! And Happy Christmas
  17. Indeed. If the figure to break even is about 17,000 fans at a game, we/they'd be losing money by the bucket load.
  18. Doesn't really bother me, because the rivalry is not just about the football. As long as the city of Portsmouth is still there we'll have something to hate.
  19. No chance, would rather let them fold all together.
  20. Quality streets
  21. How come that was pulled? Not particularly offensive IMO!
  22. Well no, I'm not wrong, because my point was that he has paid £44 for his tickets now and he would have paid that anyway.
  23. I think you do have a point in that certain adults, those with children, benefit over others, but realistically there's no other way to get kids in; you have to offer their parents an incentive to bring them. It's not as if you're actually losing out is it? You'd have been paying the same for a ticket whether this offer was on or not, so there's absolutely nothing to complain about.
  24. Lol calm down mate. It's a one-off deal designed to get more kids, the future generation of saints fans, to the game. The only way it is discriminating against honest fans is if dishonest fans take advantage; which quite obviously is not the club's intentions. With all due respect I think you need to have a look at it again and ask yourself whether this is 'arrogance', or an attempt by the club to make itself a family club again. Seeing as you are in the minority at being angry at the club I'd suggest it is the latter. Furthermore, in my opinion, although I'm obviously generalising a bit, the majority of people who are going to sit in the Chapel are either parents with their children, or older adults. Therefore the amount of people who are likely to try and 'play the system' is considerably smaller as that sort of demographic is not likely to want to sit in the Chapel anyway.
  25. I watched an episode set in Shakespearian London a year or two ago and it was actually really well written. Lots of clever references to plays and characters; they'd clearly done their research.
