  1. I'm not old enough to have gone to those games, but I've heard some pretty grim tales about them. Before today I really felt bad for Luton, and in some way that we had a sort of connection with them, because of the minus points inflicted on us both. However now, despite having had a nice chat with a few of their fans in the pub afterwards, I don't really care that they were f*cked over.
  2. where've you been?! As in, the last few times we played them in the prem.
  3. Exactly. As proved by their laughable 'gun' hand gestures and singing of 'where's your top boy gone'. Very hard indeed. I think they've watched Green Street and Football Factory a few too many times. Can only feel sorry for the smaller conference clubs who have to put up with their knuckle-dragging, lager-swilling, shoe -removing antics.
  4. nothing upset them, they just came looking for a fight. They sung a song where the only words were 'pussy pussy' for about 20 minutes, then had the audacity to sing 'sign on' to us! Then at the end of the game they decided to try and get over the seat covers separating the two sets of fans, which is when the police got involved. Although it was still the minority of their fans there was at least 100 of them; complete Neanderthals who had got a few lagers in them and came to the game looking for trouble. They weren't even watching the match most of the time. C*nts.
  5. BBC website: 'David Bell gave the Championship side an early lead with a 20-yard screamer inside a half-empty Fratton Park.' They're really living up to their self-styled 'best fans in the world' image.
  6. Was going to recommend the same place.
  7. I'm afraid not, he's due to step down in March. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/news/6556358/Lord-Mawhinney-to-step-down-as-Football-League-chairman.html
  8. I beg to differ.
  9. Yeh I suppose. Still I bet they do think they're a bigger club.
  10. Quite funny that Beckford is only going up to the Championship, I bet Leeds fans still think they're a bigger club than Newcastle.
  11. Despite being allowed to sit on the front row, Martin O'Neil really regretted joining the back staff of such a poorly run club.
  12. I'm sure you'd be absolutely fine! I've seen plenty of skate shirts in town, and as much as I dislike your fans, I'm willing to accept that they will, at some point, visit our city. However, if I was to go to Southsea wearing my Saints shirt, I'm not sure that the 3 generations of badly tattooed, overweight, grubby, mockney cretins would be quite so accommodating! Nevertheless, I enjoy most of the banter, and a happy new year to you too!
  13. I'm bloody relieved, the rumours that Kelvin was going to United were really picking up speed.
  14. Lol 'if there are any knock-on effects financially for employees the club will reimburse them.' Yeah, we believe you. Gotta feel sorry for the non-playing staff.
  15. It seems to be one rule for the Premier League and another for the Football league anyway!
  16. Ah ok cheers, I guess one leads to the other anyway.
  17. I thought I heard that if a club doesn't pay the players on 3 separate occasions there is a points penalty. May be wrong though.
  18. I think I read that the money is £7 million, and they owe £8 million to other clubs and consequently the money will be withheld by the Premier League to distribute amongst the clubs owed.
  19. I hardly think anyone at PFC can label anyone else unethical.
  20. So are they getting -9?!
  21. I thought our fans were fickle, but having just watched the highlights of Bolton vs Hull I think we're not so bad after all! They were booing when they were 2-1 up, which could only have a negative effect on the players, and they conceded again, cue more booing. They were also shouting and singing abuse at Megson, who they've given a hard time to ever since he joined their club. He was visibly upset by the abuse in the post-match interview, and you can't help but feel sorry for him as he seems an honest bloke doing his best on a tight budget. I know they don't play the best style of football but does anyone feel this negativity and abuse is in anyway justified? Watching Bolton's players backing deeper and deeper towards their own penalty area reminded me of our team last year and how we go on their backs, and I'm sure positivity in the stands breeds positivity in the players.
  22. To be fair I think PES has a point about the aesthetics of St Mary's, I do wish it was a little more unique, although it is certainly finished a lot better than some similar stadiums, like Pride Park and the Walkers' Stadium. Saying that, we have years to add to and improve it, and the more time that passes, the more individual it is likely to get. I was pretty impressed with Huddersfield's stadium though, quite like the Reebok, but smaller.
  23. hmmm. I am a big fan of Schneiderlin, and I agree he's definitely someone who has a big future ahead of him and we'd do well to hold on to. I wouldn't like to drop Hammond though as I think he's very good in this league. Perhaps we could play 3 in the middle? I think it's clear that in order to change the team, particularly the midfield, someone who most people consider is an integral part of the team is either going to have to move positions or drop to the bench. We're not going to be able to leave Lallana, Schneiderlin and Hammond on if we bring in another CM, and we're not going to be able to leave Connolly playing if we play five in the middle. There's going to have to be a few tough decisions and perhaps some tinkering and testing of different players and systems, but In Pardew and his team we trust.
