  1. There may be someone from the Cardiff area driving? Not sure if any of them are on here though. Otherwise - perhaps check out the Northern Saints group on Facebook and see if anyone is within a reasonable distance from you - you could always get a shorter train to them.
  2. Whilst doing Manchester-Ipswich-Newcastle in 6 days seems "ridiculous" as many put it ..... how do you think we'd cope in the Europa Cup? I am assuming you don't want us to qualify for Europe then? If we did, we could end up doing Manchester-Eastern Europe-Newcastle in 7 days which is a hell of a lot more travelling. We've used St Georges Park already this season between matches ... I'd expect us to do the same, probably between Ipswich and Newcastle.
  3. Quoted.
  4. Pleasing. That should give us a great boost going into the Arsenal game. No one can blame Morgan for that tackle - took one for the team. Targett was solid.
  5. If we can take care of Naismith and Barkley then we have a chance.
  6. Jesus, why don't you feck off and support Chelsea. We have only been turned over by Man City during our "poor" spell. We played as well as Arsenal away and played better than Man United at home. Most people recognise we could have got 4points from those matches. Our downfall have been very specific issues/lapses which can be addressed. We are not a bad team. Burnley was the worst result of the lot - because they are a poor team. But it's not all doom and gloom and you have to ride these spells out. If you can't deal with that without having some kind of #meltdown then seriously go and follow someone who better aligns with your attitude. Bottom line - we are in the top 8 teams in the Premier League, and comfortably. Offer me that 4-5 years ago and I'd have spunked in my pants.
  7. No one can be blamed for still having the old skool Saints fan mentality. Always expect to lose in the most frustrating manner possible. If/when we actually do alright - quietly get a bit excited but still front up with a wall of negativity so that when we do lose a couple of matches (which every team does!) - it isn't such a big fall. Heck, I do it myself. However, I think tonight we need to be positive. They know there is a lot riding on this game - in terms of the number of fans making the effort, a semi final looming and the general positive impact of stopping a run of defeats. I think we'll win. May not be pretty, but I do think we'll win.
  8. stevegrant - please can you sort out an RSS feed, webservice or something else clever to feed data from the Black Box, so this thread has some substance. Thanks.
  9. Forster/Toby/Vic/Long were immense last night. If Morgan goes, I can see Vic/Toby being a good replacement partnership. I do wonder why Gardos hasn't had a crack of the whip yet over Yoshi ... Yoshi wasn't perfect but also not awful. Tadic and Pelle are letting the dip in form get to them at the moment - they are putting in the hard work, but don't have that "edge" which they did earlier in the season. Mane was very disappointing for me. Has shown potential, but recently has been very poor and not the sort of player I've liked watching. Tonights big mistake was with Ron though I'm afraid. He shouldn't have brought on Mayuka. For two reasons. One - it was our last sub. Yes, you will say "but he wasn't to know". That brings me on to my second reason. Two - Mayuka offers NOTHING extra at that stage in the game. Don't just bring on a pair of fresh legs if they are not the right legs for the game. It was a vital 10 minutes. We were on course for a very good draw and should have aimed to play the game out. I know Long was knackered, but I bet he could/would have played those last 10 minutes out for the team. Having said that - it was a sterling effort and a huge improvement. I am worried about what the team may look like on Monday, but hey ho - it hasn't completely wrecked our season if we lose that as well. Burnley, Everton and Palace are the games we MUST try and get our best team back for in order to kick-start something. A win at Sheff United would help boost everyone as well.
  10. Must say - Offside Streams has been flawless for me now that things have settled down after their upgrade a few weeks ago.
  11. On the topic of cost, I've done quite well on this one. I'm travelling from Tyneside which must be a similar distance as Soton to Brum. Return megabus (down today, back tomorrow) £6.50 Premier Inn £15 Ticket £41 £62.50 plus food/drink. Granted, it means 2 days off work but I have leave to use. I also justify it as I can't make the Newcastle game in Jan.
  12. I'd be surprised if there is much more than 1000 there.
  13. Leaving Newcastle early tomorrow morning for this. Looking forward to a day on the drink, followed by football, followed by a good curry.
  14. No. However, I'd be inclined to rest him for this match in order to give him 2 full weeks recovery time for Man City. May depend on Davis fitness as well I guess. Wanyama, Cork and Reed @ Villa perhaps.
  15. I went in August and unfortunately Legia's home match was moved due to the Europa Cup farce that happened V Celtic. We ended up going to the West of the City and watching Targowek play. Proper football. Recommended if they are at home. Otherwise, we stayed in the Ibis next to Polonia's ground, but didn't catch a game. Did have a wonder around the ground though.
  16. Love these videos and agree with iansums - love the applause Long got at the end. Plus Edwin's tunnel hug. Great spirit in this team.
  17. I was in Warsaw recently and there is a standard British pub which will show the game (you may have to ask for the channel to be switched): http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g274856-d4062171-Reviews-British_Bulldog_Pub-Warsaw_Mazovia_Province_Central_Poland.html Enjoy - Warsaw is a great city. Much enjoyed my trip there in the summer.
  18. OSS seems better today. Still not got all the channels back up but those that are, are working well. SS1HD for the arsenal game was flawless.
  19. They are in the middle of upgrading instrastructure. They have a chat room which normally has latest info on it. Bein11 was fine tonight until the 80th minute. NBC was poor. Agree the last month has been inconsistent - but I'm sticking with them a bit longer in the hope the new servers will improve things. Android app is still down (known about).
  20. Do away fans still head to the Cap n Gown pre-match? Last time I went to VP was for the FA Cup Semi Final. Staying overnight for this one - looking forward to a Brum curry.
  21. Very much enjoyed both videos - it's a great time to be a Saints fan.
  22. My train leaves at around 22:30 I think (going North to Newcastle though). I get in after 2am!
  23. May as well get a train booked up then! For once I can get home after the game, so will skip the overnight stop on this occasion.
  24. Has our game been confirmed for the Tue? (not seen that anywhere, just the TV games)
  25. Other results couldn't have gone better for us this weekend. Skates included.
