Question for Alpine and other morons......
Nineteen Canteen replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Why can't you see that with the advent of Sky TV the football landscape changed so dramatically as to be enable to bear comparison. On top of that during the Lowe's first 10 years he also had to contend with the Champions League and the drain of funds on those club outside of Europe and the increasing power of those inside it was life changing. What would you have proposed Docker? Stay at The Dell and revert to the training methods and relevent salary scales of the 1980's? You are always quick to chide but never offer an opinion on how it could have been done differently and cause a few of us to scratch our chins as others in fact do occassionally. Better still leave the running of the club as you do to those who know best but keep your silly sniping to yourself. BTW, i'll give you Ted Bates had to cope with the introduction of the minimum wage, Lawrie McMenemy? Can't think of anything, IMO he had it very easy bit like being a soldier before Blair came along. -

Someone earlier mentioned there was very little celebration on the news tonight that we are appear to be saved. Perhaps the lack of cheer is epitomised by your post because as I have said elsewhere when this new takeover has a wobble you and others like you will be first to kick us into this dangerous charade again. There were 15,000 loyal fans from last season that i am fairly certain didn't want administration and be they luvvie, anti-lowe or ambivalent will find your remarks a tad simple, pathetic, offensive or worse question why they bother to support a club for plastic loutish morons like you. -

True but also very little objective assessment and reasoning from the those who chose to show their banners, march or sang their idiotic and offensive songs like a bunch of 5 year olds having a mass tantrum. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself and that the idiotic few don't ensure we have to reap their peurile impatience and divisive 'mob rule' once again. -

I assume you are talking about May 2006 because once a ship is so badly holed then she is beyond saving by even the most experienced captains. That's why they have salvage companies. I hope the Swiss are rewarded for their support and I dread the team going a few games without a point. What was the father's mantra in the Echo today? Spend only what you have earned as loans are simply gambling. I suspect they still follow their Father's advice as most of us do ours. I definitely don't expect them to have a hide as thick as Lowe's and if this club turns on them at the bottom of the roller-coaster then they will simply leave us to it IMO. It worries me as we must have a collective learning defect and unable to heed the lessons of the past hence the fact we went into administration unable to help the club in the last chance saloon, for whatever reason, most of which were invalid judging by the usual comments. Time for a large dose of realism and perhaps consider how you would run the club and it's notoriously difficult customers if you were expecting a return on your investment and not frittering away your wealth and family's inheritance. -

Disgusting, I bet she didn't even give you a chance to move that stack of magazines on the bottom shelf to aid your manoeuvrability. Did you sing a song of praise?

Very true but concerned she has a husband in his twenties? May not be able to keep up with the demand as I need hours in the twenties to aid recovery with or without the horse pills I inadvertently purchased on the internet recently, thought they were too cheap. Loose women would be great but I can't stand the Nolan sister, that old looking tom - Welch and that weird one from Coronation Street whose names escapes me.

Classy and European...I was referring to our new owners of which Wotte will be able to contribute and integrate better than some typical loutish English Manager IMO at least the type we will be able to afford. Swiss being Swiss I will be amazed if they don't reward Wotte's professionalism and loyalty and likewise many fans will be queuing up to be the monkey in his back because of his past record and connections, like Pearson had such a great record before he left. Times are changing at SFC and as fans so do should we.

Oh no, shock horror. Have a look at the list of Old Etonians or Harrovains, Winchester, Marlborough et al. Networking in the earliest stages of persons career and develops to be rife in the city, politics, law, sales, golf clubs and masonic lodges and so on and so on Life has always been about who you know and not what you know and if it wasn't there wouldn't be all those consultants out there making a mint on advising movers and shakers how to enhance their networking skills. People need to wake up and move on. No conspiracy theories, no advantage being made from our misery just the many aspects of the machinations of business. So what our bank manager moved to BT, the latter identified a need and felt this individual and his contacts and experience could help them develop their business, is that an issue?. Happens all the time in the city although there is usually a period of garden leave between the transfer to protect the intellectual capital of the company losing the employee. Is this the crux of the matter? Trying to unravel all the posts is a minefield in itself but if it is seriously whats the issue? BT headhunt useful employee from another company because they believe that individual can add significant value to their business. Surely this happens everyday in every business throughout the world and if we weren't the company in administration would any of us care? No. Get over it and those allegedly ITK there is no story, no points to score and instead of feeding the rumour investigate the one thing you won't find on Google. Who paid Pinnacle's deposit if at all and what was their motives? If it can be proved Pinnacle didn't pay a deposit then find out why and how this could have been allowed? http://www.google.com, of you go and good luck, and don't come back with more suggestion or theory, just facts. -

Come on Trousers in one of the worse recessions in modern history you don't even need to have a bank account to be qualified to predict that companies whose principal business is to administer failed companies may actually have a bit of business coming their way. I would be worried if WH Ireland or any other stockbroker, Analyst or Fund Manager had not made a similar prediction. -
Quite, but not in this instance. Wotte deserves a 2 year contract minimum with Killer alongside him. We are going to be very classy and European looking club with an initially guarded outlook to ensure our future security. Can't wait given the past few months about 37 of them to be precise. Slowly slowly catchee monkey

Tell me about it, So did Heather 'search for the hero inside of me' . Heather Small - can't see it myself but we all have strange fetishes. Mine's Jane McDonald and how wrong is that?! Unfortunately, I have no famous dalliances despite the malicious and unsubstantiated rumours that Rupert and I swapped the taking role. He was always on the take.

Wotte. About time this club started to reward loyalty, tact and diplomacy. Until the point of administration and given what he had to work with, Wotte was turning this club around but the distraction of some ridiculous external influences undermined him. He deserves a 2 years contract to try and overcome the deduction and failing that get promoted the following season. The Swiss are not going to throw money at this club until things have settled down and they get a greater understanding of what they have as an asset and assess its potential. Wotte will give them some initial stability.

Sorry, just read this through again and it really is probably the best post I have ever read on this forum and sums up in a few paragraphs the recent history of this club and raises the same reasons why I backed Lowe (financial prudence) and raises questions about some justifiable concerns which I doubt we will ever receive truly transparent answers. However, the message is clear no more false prophecies, mascot led bids, fan friendly rhetoric or alleged donations. Hopefully, this week we will have a future with a f**king great big line drawn over the past and a period of financial stability and sensible rebuilding ahead. That needs to be in line with a realistic ambition for the club in the medium term. We need to back this bid with ST purchases and 20k + attendances because without that we will be left with the foundations once again and no chance of a return to the highest echelons of the English football that he have occupied for about 1 third of our existence. -

Great post Frank and glad to see your speeling is coming along for those who can't get over it. The message is there but do you have to be so subtle? Surely the protaganists just need to answer some obvious questions? Get a job on Solent, preferably Sunday mornings. -

Fair point but in that analogy the deposit is paid with all the legals, mortgage and key dates agreed. As a minimum surely proof of payment of the balance must have been provided and be as strong as the offer in the wings minus the celebrity? Perhaps the house analogy doesn't work when you drill down into the nitty gritty but the principle at least is very similar i would have thought. -

Funny how key players in this club past and present ket accused of being somewhat terse in their communication techniques whilst using a telephone. In this case he appears to have allegedly hung up on the wrong people. -

Conning the TSW? You don't exactly have to be Derren Brown to whip up a feeding frenzy with the majority of posters on here believing every unsourced word they read provided its good news. Doubt Fry could have been so easily duped but would still like to know what favoured Pinnacle over the Swiss especially given his comments today.
