  1. I may do just that whilst I await for your opinion on why the club needs to be managed by the heart. Is it because it's not your money?
  2. Shock horror, I agree, must be that alpine fresh air. I was concerned to hear Wotte tout Gobern as a potential replacement for Surman as Gobern looked distinctly below average when I saw him under JP last season. That said McGoldrick wasn't much better but no one can deny that under Wotte DMG was a completely different player and as a result I was sad to see him go. There are signs that Wotte has the potential to be an excellent manager in more harmonius times and is recommeded by Martin Jol and given what he has achieved then I'd settle for his professional assessment over any amateur and jaundiced opinion.
  3. Better than Dodd and Gorman and Pearson though eh Gammon? At least Lowe had the self-belief in his decisions to give Wotte a decent contract. Wotte is more than good enough and has earned the right given the circumstances that he had to work under last season and the rumours from the Pinnacle bid. We need strong and determined leaders and ones not easily swayed by the need to be popular with the fans just the courage of their convictions. Wotte is the ideal man. The grapes tasting a little sour tonight? Dip then in a fondue, works a treat.
  4. Soon as I found that out I bought a load of tiles for my new roof.
  5. I think Amesbury Saint may have been joking but subtlety is invariably wasted on here.
  6. His is a German by birth and now a Swiss National. I don't know but I would guess his definition of fun is somewhat different than yours. If the family had the motto 'money means nothing when you're gone' then dear old Hans would have left them with nothing and my guess is our new owner will not want to be the first to blow his inheritance and that of his family. The people he has appointmented as his CEO and COO tell you that we are not going to be his proverbial trainset.
  7. If so, then he is part of group with a large membership. Get over it. Minsk, pity Pearson wasn't given a 12 month contract from the start then your one trick pony may have had the opportunity to prove his worth in even more difficult times. Still water under the bridge and Wotte deserves his chance as given the circumstances his record is comparable to Pearson's.
  8. Good, the time for policies based purely on the heart and not the head will lead us down another cul-de-sac of disilliusionment.
  9. Maybe Oldknow is just playing the game. How would it work bringing someone in who was planning to get rid of the manager that our new owner wants to work with. If MLT came in on the football side I can't see how that relationship with him and Wotte would work and neither can I see MLT being happy with a meet and greet type role.
  10. Is that before the end of this month or the end of this transfer window.
  11. I agree and coupled with the philosphy of ML's father we will only be allowed to spend what we earn. I seriously doubt he will bankroll the team as some may expect and it will be a slow and considered rebuild within the club's financial means. The level of support will be key as that is the only way personal investment beyond what he has spent already will be even remotely considered or encouraged.
  12. Welcome back FF, I trust you have got over the way you were treated and fwiw this time I was on your side if the rumours / conjecture on here were correct. Very glad it's all over and you really need to start a book. Call it 97 Days and tell us your story, far more interesting than any other Saints related books that may do the rounds at Christmas.
  13. Spectator or maybe a guest of Crouch in those costly corporate boxes where fees are raised to offset the loss of offering us loyal season ticket holders a nice discount.
  14. Or those that tried to help save the club and stayed loyal get rewarded. The more I hear about the new owner the more I like it. The new broom option or the old protaganists working together were the only two ways to go and so it has been proven. Do you think MLT and co would have rewarded the loyal fans above the plastic boycotters? I don't know, but it's irrelevant and I personally and along with many others are extremely happy the club has been saved and our contribution recognised.
  15. Couldn't agree more. You can't fail to respect the man and clearly he has impressed our new owner and more importantly when others only spoke of his removal he stayed loyal until it looked like Pinnacle were going to succeed and he walked before he was pushed without complaint. Personally, I think he deserves a two year contract with promotion to the CCC by the end of it. I suspect others would prefer a 12 month rolling contract but if that is the case I think we need to be realistic about our aims this season and not chastise him if we simply have a season of safety and consolidation.
  16. Sometimes loyalty can be confused with a lack of ambition and the need to increase your effort and responsibilities.
  17. Agree completely and it seems to me Mr Liebherr will want to do things his way. The fact he has already met Wotte and told him he wants to keep him on as manager will tell you all you need to know that this particular cookie is not going to bow to populist pressure or those trading on past contributions. Thank god for that.
  18. Agreed and tbh I hope we don't often have cause to reflect if at all.
  19. Um I don't disagree with you as I said in my post but neither does it make it right. To draw an analogy you may as well say that smoking or drinking more 28 units of alcohol a week is a good for you. Many do but it doesn't make it right. Team performs badly, fans withdraw their support that is the norm I agree but the effect is usually very damaging ergo not right. There was no one at the club to engender that spirit, very true because for most of it they were being kicked instead of supported and from corners of our fanbase that should have known better. Hardly surprising the draw bridge was lifted - wouldn't you? I hope we don't have the same problem with the very professional but probably dour and germanic swiss with need a jingoistic spirit engendered into us.
  20. ________________________________________________________________ Drawing the proverbial line.... We will never agree but as it feels like Christmas Eve hopefully we can all tomorrow wake up and go out and play tomorrow as one on our new bikes without a care in the world. Hopefully this time I get the red Raleigh Chopper and not some tacky Purple 'High Rise' copy. Now who should be manager?
  21. **** off you ****ing cvnt.
  22. In your jaundiced and, without reasoned, opinion. Google it.
  23. Yes of course I do but with some form of objectivity. I may not always do it but I do try to support my opinions with reasons. Many of the aggressive anti-Lowe types don't bother either because they can't or they simply draw on the safety of being with the majority on this forum. Perhaps at times the sole reason i find myself defending Lowe's regime is because of the apparent lack of thought that goes into some comments. The classic example of this Robbie was the so called demonstration marches. Was it the first march in history that campaigned for something but could not collectively communicate what they wanted instead. Do you remember Connor being asked that point? He didn't have a clue and flapped about as if someone had dropped him in the Itchen. Can't stand the moaning or posts purely made to incite aggression or simply offend. Comments that are severely critical of anyone at the club are fine but support the argument that's all I woudl like to see.
  24. Prove it Mr Parochial minute taker. Risdale, Bates, Ellis, Batchelor, Ashley - shall I go on you parasitic thug?
  25. SOG we had players on over a £1m pa and Fuller in hindsight at £90k was a bargain we failed to realise seeing how he has performed at Stoke and with age no doubt losing a bit of pace.
