Looking at that link to their board I guess we got it wrong - though it's nice that they come here for the information that is censored by the local media. Apparently the property developer just donated £50K out of love for the club to make the Tifosy scheme look successful asking nothing in return - and the Trust donations scheme seems to have been converted into a share scheme so all the fans now own a bit of the club rather that a virtual sheet of A4. I must have missed that change. Now that details are emerging I suppose they will be asking questions of the club. Like why did you loudly boast that the fans had hit the donations target when in fact it was a big-hearted property developer who came in last minute to save the Tifosy scheme from falling short? These property developers seem nearly as kind and generous as those loan sharks they got into bed with.

To mothball a store that has already been built is a massive decision. It smacks of a company that is sorting out senior management issues and not committing to anything. No doubt the Trust will make an immediate statement to allay the fears of....oh hang on, there are no fears, because no one in Portsea has noticed nor been informed. And as my learned colleagues have pointed out, it does explain the sudden mysterious appearance of that £50K. If so, that is a proper con even by their standards - triumphantly telling the fans that they have hit target when in fact the Trust's percentage of control has just been reduced. I see why they wanted to keep the postcard on that one. So I look forward to the fanbase quizzing the Trust about that little gem, especially as they are renowned for ruthlessly demanding answers rather than embracing the warm and fluffy version of events normally served up.

This minor setback is not a defeat, it's a victory for passion that demonstrates once again that the bestest are right up there with the elite of the world game. It just seems odd that after describing his evidence as contradictory and unreliable, the Judge has still accepted his version of events as the truth, on EVERY count. To the layman it appears that he has won every 50:50 decision in the trial, and several that were 25:75 against. Maybe he's just a lucky man. PS anyone else got a forum stalker who likes to follow them around all threads disagreeing with everything? Not seem him yet today, he'll be here in a minute....

And cleared of possession of ammunition....that he had in his possession. Add in the judge saying that the accused wasn't to know that he might kill someone if he emptied four rounds into the small room that they were in, and despite the guilty verdict this morning as expected, some might observe that the whole thing has not been a great advert for what most reasonable people might regard as justice.

My immediate thought was it's OJ all over again, but when you look at the detail.... The prosecution has failed to prove his intent. Personally I suspect he did it intentionally, but only the two of them know - there is no proof. So that judgement is probably a fair ruling with the evidence. If however he is cleared of the other charges then there is a big question mark over the whole thing. I expect him to be found guilty on the other charges and jailed, hopefully for a long enough term so that most reasonable people think that some justice has been served.

Gingeletiss is right to be amused, the current business has no legal claim prior to 2013. The trust claimed connections to previous businesses, legally challenged, and lost. It's now official, their glorious history goes all the way back to spring last year. So they are doing pretty well for newbie minnows thrown in the with the big boys like Fleetwood and Morecambe.
