  1. Fair play to the fans who went there and gave everything. That's the only positive I can think of.
  2. I was guessing at a fortnight before the sacking - then a further seven days for the transparent press statement.
  3. I give it three weeks.
  4. At least they still cheer us up when things are not going well. We might be struggling at the moment but it's a struggle to stay in the top six in the country, not a battle to avoid non-league football accompanied by deluded claims of being the best supported, biggest fan-owned bunch of shareholders in the history of world sport. Thanks.
  5. what a, what a, what a lovely day for tax evasion!
  6. I'm starting to wonder whether the figures stack up... Then again it's difficult to know when the accounts are a secret! Another thing I may have mentioned before - I see very little commercial talent on that board... But Rome was not built in a day Rallyboy you old bitter Nutjob.....No, nor was it built by a load of blokes who love Rome but don't know anything about building things. Missing accounts, internal bickering, midtable mediocrity at the ar$e end of the football pyramid - the saga rolls on...order more popcorn!
  7. Asked by a Trust member who would foot the bill, he replied: ‘Not us.’ Trapani added: ‘The pitch will be dug up again in the summer. ‘We sincerely hope it will not be at the club’s expense. Everything you need to know about transparency in three sentences.
  8. I came away feeling robbed but it wasn't like that. If you make defensive mistakes and don't take your chances, that can't be called unfair. Yes we are missing key players, but sadly we got what we deserved - not for our performance that was better than theirs, but for those key moments when we slipped up. On reflection, it was our own fault. Which makes it more annoying. Let's get back on track at Burnley and continue to compete for 6th place.
  9. Tesco appear to have made up figures and tried to con people into thinking that there is more value in the business that there actually is. They've also proudly promoted new builds that will never happen. I'm not sure that transparent pompey should be working with a company like that.
  10. by the way, I wasn't joking above, that is a genuine description!
  11. For those asking about the Hall of Fame, I have witnessed it, with my own eyes.... It's basically a wall of Poundland frames with pictures of old players in them, randomly hung slightly skew whiff for added drama - and each legend is accompanied by a shiny plaque fashioned from the finest perspex. This gallery that oozes quality is in the same shrine that holds the great un-ironed tablecloth, while the aroma of fat hangs heavy in the air.
  12. How can they still think that they have shares in anything relevant? How can they think that they own anything other than a virtual sheet of A4? Are people really that gullible? It's a serious question for any visitors from the east, please, tell us why any ordinary fans believe that they really have shares, influence or ownership? Go on, seriously, explain....please! They donated cash to assist property developers to save their club - nice, worthy, well done. They then put inexperienced people in charge, who predictably, made poor appointments. Chaos ensued. ad lib and fade...
  13. At least they admit that they are not fan-owned, in fact, not even half fan-owned. And they are looking for significant outside investment, while increasing their own percentage. Good luck with that. I think the only way they can do that is to go to a loan shark. Again.
  14. This week. Former Pompey midfielder Alan McLoughlin thanked the Fratton faithful after his Q&A evening was a roaring success. Around 300 fans turned up at the Victory Bar on Monday night for the event, which also doubled up as an opportunity to buy his new autobiography. I bet his next book will have some interesting stuff on the Trust!
  15. And in planning news..........plans by developers to build 480 houses on land not far from the fortress of fat are being opposed due to the 'lack of infrastructure' in that part of the city. Which could mean that IF Tesco's plan A gets put on hold they will then struggle to get planning for further residential in that area....thus leaving Robinson with exactly what he bought, a large piece of semi-worthless wasteland. Chanrai must be chuckling at the fortune that he walked away from - you know you are in real trouble when the money launderers and arms dealers can no longer see a profit in your business.
  16. I didn't find it that depressing - they are an excellent side. We could have surrendered at 1-0 but we chased the game and got punished. Had Pelle connected in the 85th minute it could have been different - we pushed to get back from 2-0 and got hit again. I'd rather we went down trying to get something from the game than park the bus for a 1-0 defeat. Let's see how the players react over the next couple of games before getting too suicidal.
  17. That's only fair - Leeds have cheated yet pompey were innocent victims. The nasty owners maimed a few kids, bought them a cup, and then left. If anything pompey should have been promoted as a reward, not punished.
  18. Presumably Cellino just tells the league that his son owns the club and they carry on regardless. That's the traditional way of fooling the football authorities.
  19. Twitter reports of pompey minority chanting anti-Islam, anti-Catholic, anti-female, anti-gay, pro-Ebola songs today. Can we assume they are getting bored watching the football? Must be time for another smoke bomb and minor pitch invasion pretty soon. The circle of life. 1970 called and asked for their supporters back.
  20. They lost at Tranmere? It seems cruel to mock. But I'll consider it.
  21. That's pompey for you - when the disgruntled staff hold a secret meeting, and then demand that the manager sits down and shuts up, some would call that worrying - but down there it's all spun as a positive thing! Onwards and sideways. There are no yes men there. Connolly, do you want to accept a demotion, play in a system that clearly doesn't work and score the goals to keep me in my job?.... No.
  22. The whole idea of being a manager is to be capable of managing different kinds of player. For instance, Ballotelli is unmanageable, he's proved that. Osvaldo is trouble, he needs managing, Puncheon is high maintenance too. But Connolly's history would suggest that he is not a troublesome player, he just needs managing correctly. Awford and the board have hopelessly failed to do that, and also don't seem capable of agreeing to terminate their relationship either. Connolly could do a very handy job for them right now, but they have failed to handle him or the situation properly. And as I said before, he's been around long enough to know a crap manager when he sees one, and the truth hurts. All the time they let this one run, he's bleeding them of cash every day.
  23. While they have addressed some of the debt, and despite their claims, the PFA charge would suggest they haven't cleared it all, I can't see that much has changed. How many League Two clubs can afford a squad of 32? Though they have done a complete U-turn in one aspect - we now seem to be in an era of quantity over quality. I guess that is nearly progress.
  24. Lord T is correct, the competition is over. That won't stop the BBC hyping it up like it's a dizzier bit of excitement than Strictly meets Bakeoff. Man, I am out of step with society, and it feels good. I'm just relieved that they haven't shoehorned Murray or Rooney in there. The glorious sporting year of 2012 seems a long time ago now.
  25. We haven't been beaten by Barcelona nor Real Madrid in a competitive game in my lifetime! I bet that hurts them.
