  1. So because she could consent to his mate it was obviously fine for Ched to cone along and get involved ? Top logic that
  2. He was convicted as the girl in question was ruled, at the time to not be in a position to make a concious or informed decision about consenting to sex. Thats regardless of how much she had consumed. In which case, no, I can honestly hold my hand up and say I have not, if you have then it just about sums you up. Out of courtesy can you decide whether you want to continue debating this on the live thread or over PM ? Its bad enough 'debating' with you once, I dont particularly want to do it twice.
  3. Not really, not called you a rapist at all, but in your own words; "It's one of those dodgy situations that I guarantee a lot of us know from University. As my mate said to me a month or so ago, it could have happened to any of us...The key is when is a girl too drunk, and when is consent not consent due to inhibiting factors."
  4. I said last year of our midfield he is the most likely to be replaced, he is decent, a good allrounder but generally has no one attribute that sets him apart like some of the others. I dont think you need a black box to work that out.
  5. Its pretty obvious they've copped a strop as effectively they have lost out on a player that would improve the team, and unfortunately, in the world of football thats generally all that matters. But regardless of anything said, and regardless if 'Unbelievable DPS Jeff' who, apparantly is into a bit of similar activities as Ched himself (nice bloke all round) believes, Ched is a convicted Rapist, convicted by a jury of his peers and sentanced by an appointed judge. Regardless of anyones thoughts, he is a ****ing rapist, end of discussion. Lets not make this into a story about the regabilitation of offenders etc either. Because as much as he is entitled to rebuild his life, he has made his mistake and must live with it. He would now struggle to find work in most proffessional organisations, so why is it acceptable to work in the public eye, within which, looking at social media in particular he is a role model (god help us)
  6. Exactly
  7. Maybe, but Ive seen a lot of players at a lot of levels, and I dont think Ive called many wrong. With the obvious exclusion of McGoldrick who I commented may make a half decent CM rather than trying to play as a main striker (and if he wasnt so bloody lazy) Do I think SG has potential, possibly, but I see him at the moment ending up at Championship level consistantly unless there is a noticeable improvement over the next few years. He just doesnt seem to have it yet. But then plenty can happen over the next few years for him, but the most important thing for him is games. Hopefully we will get some back up to enable that. As right now (if he was fit) waiting around for half a game every now and again isnt helping us or him.
  8. Yes but this is a time in which most people believe that politicians are; Only thinking of themselves, eliteist Idiots who are out of touch with the people. So its a bit short sighted to basically prove it on social media
  9. What you really need to do is create a Xmas good natured add that uses something completely detestable as a metaphor. Plenty to work with still..
  10. **** me Im glad the footballs back this weekend
  11. Mitchells off, not hunter, but same applies really, I think he is more important than people realise
  12. It was very ill advised tbh, reminds me of that thread we had of the kid at matalan dressed as a monkey. I dont think he meant to offend, he is just a complete tit. This and signing Mckay is pretty much PR suicide in any other profession, good old football. Think they've offered a contract to Ched Evans
  13. I think people vastly underestimate the issues we would have if we had to replace Pelle or Tadic by the aforementioned cover. Yes, we have back up, but it would completely change the dynamics of the team. Alderweireld playing RB effectively weakens CB as well, and again basically means we are still an injury away from danger there.
  14. Never mind the network infrastructure work required to actually enable such an ambitious policy.... In short it won't happen
  15. I dont think we 'bottle' hard games but no doubt if we had beaten them you'd be using it in your optimistic post, but fact of the matter is, out of the contenders we've lost. Let me tell you were I am. I think its a stronger side to last year. A stronger depth to last year, but behind Pellè, Tadic and the FBs I worry. No more no less, lets revisit in January when I hope we are perched pretty
  16. Oh god no
  17. Its a great read, shows how forward thinking we are as a club and alas, how much we would lose people like Gimpel or Mitchell in the short term. Though, in reality, we lost Crocker and seem to be doing just fine. Its an exciting time and refreshing to be part of such a forward thinking club.
  18. Whether it was or not I agree with the article. Shame people see a bit of negative and decide its crap. The table doesnt lie, nor do our fixtures Im afraid, out of the teams we have played only two are top four contenders and we lost. We have a tough set of fixtures coming up, including cup games etc that will take it out of the squad potentially. And no, the squad isnt that strong, it is stronger than last year but still not quite there. We'll definately be there or there abouts, but I wouldnt count your chickens just yet, it'll be a tough run in to xmas
  19. You used Man City as an example, despite the fact that their reserve team is still better than most others in the league... Without Aguero they have Dzeko and Jovetic and behind Toure they have an array of midfielders from Fernando to Silva And anyway, despite this what are you expecting ? That they have players AS good as Toure in reserve ? They dont, every team has poorer players in reserve, its how it works. It just so happens that behind Pelle and Tadic we have nobody Id be comfortable with taking their place for an extended period, probably ditto Clyne and Bertrand and even Forster Its not hard, but I assume you have your overly optimistic glasses on, just like you did on the Mitchel thread
  20. Saves me writting the above Some people just look through red n white glasses
  21. Good article by fourfourtwo here Echos my thoughts http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/four-reasons-why-saints-can-break-top-four-and-four-reasons-why-they-wont
  22. Im starting to populate one of my spare rooms with gym equipment as I would rather work out from home now, just makes life easier for travelling, motivation and the local gyms are upwards of £30 per month I remember a few of you had your own Kettle Bells, any idea where I can get some decent but not overly expensive sets ?
  23. Well Ive been battling back and fourth, ultimately though it seems I have met a cease fire. Unfortunately its Zero boys Ive even tried a fart
  24. I dont quite get why we are stuck with the british national anthem whilst they are allowed 'flower of scotland' Jerusalem would be great
  25. He is a tempo player, I rate him personally but realistically he needs another couple of midfielders to do his running otherwise he goes missing
