  1. This was my thoughts, but then a season takes a lot out of professionals these days, bless 'em
  2. Its hard work, very hard work, really works your core, everything that you do will leave you hurting. Ive stopped doing the full workout TBH, I use the recovery session and a couple of the plyometric circuits to go along with what I already do at the gym. Its easy enough if your fit enough, if you have never done any plyos before beware, I can honestly say you have never felt DOMs until you have done an insanity or P90x plyo circuit.
  3. Fwiw Targett is said to be as good as Shaw at least. On another note, can we have some variety ? Right back ? Striker ? Bloody goalie ?!?!?
  4. Its a long way for you to go but I appreciate the effort attempting to buy the very best produce, do Ocado not come into leigh park any more ?
  5. You dont know about the waitrose in Portswood ? All genuine saints fans know this ? Well, in the fruit bowl you need to devide the weight of the breast by a factor of 5 minus the age of the apples in the bowl
  6. In the fridge or the fruit bowl ?
  7. Yup, this is Saints web forum has it finally clicked your not on the blue board ?
  8. The 17 yr old, 2 months younger than Shaw is seen as the long term successor of Shaw Lol
  9. I dont think he has a big voice in things, but then I wasnt 100% that Reed was on the committee so I may be wrong. As a semi-informed guess though Id assumd it was continuity related.
  10. Hunter is in there aswell, I know that much, not seen anything written down but yes, Reed being there is a worry, but then how much top flight exp has Adkins got ?
  11. Adkins picks the team, Adkins picks the tactics, I can promise you that
  12. He was tasked with getting the academy up to scratch, now I dont like the man but he has done that, he looked at other elite training centres, took ideas and built what we have now. That is what he is good at TBH and from that respect I have to applaud his efforts. If he is identifying targets though then yes I agree, not that there is any real evidence he is on the committee
  13. I am fully aware of how a wide man should operate, I have played and coached the game long enough. This is Adkins though, love the man but makes some very very strange decisions at times, sometimes they work others are utter failures. I mean, Stoke, they go down to ten men, our so called big defender hasnt handled long balls well anyway, lets get everyone behind the ball and try to soak it up ?!? When have we been able to defend all season anyway FFS ??
  14. Thats just rediculous, he had a slow start but most of us saw a decent defender in there, and now he has got used the league he looks a great little player.
  15. I thought he said something about utilising him out wide but after a quick search I cant find anything. Perhaps, he is obviously here as he has potential, if he turns out to be decent than its worth it, if not then well, he will be a flop. This is the man that signed N'Guessan, Forte, Falque etc But then foreign transfer in not working out shock, it happens
  16. Exactly this, some times I just think its easier to blame anyone but Adkins as he is so likeable I mean lets look at history. Playing Fox, Guly, youth - Cortese picks the team Playing 433 - see above Signing inadequate players - committee picks them (that adkins is part of but we will ignore this) Then the players are changed, the tactics shuffled and we get told that Adkins is now picking everything !! Really ? I mean are people that naive ? What if we sign some very good players in Jan ? Will that be because he has got rid of the committee ? Besides, as you said a transfer team is common place in probably more than 80% of top flight clubs right now and even seen at places like the posh etc Window cleaner should know this, he is an intelligent footballing bloke. They are designed to protect clubs against the Dalglieshs and hughes of this world, they are not always great but required. Saying that Adkins didnt man up about positions is rediculous, we were in for plenty, we probably didnt get many, and let me tell you we had a habit in the summer for identifying targets that were too ambitious, perhaps a higher profile manager would seal the deals ? Or perhaps we should aim lower ?
  17. How do you know it didnt happen ? Plus we got a CB, we got a wide man and we got a striker aswell as a marquee signing Except for a LB (shaw) That was pretty much what everyone was asking for in the summer, no one knew how bad the GK situation would be, nor that Jos would struggle. You cant look back and blame everyone but Adkins, nor can you just blame adkins, its a committee, the only clubs that probably dont have one are Man Utd and the Arse, and thats because the clubs as old as their managers, as soon as SAF or AW leave Id put money on the fact they will get a committee.
  18. He is a decent manager that has been helped considerably by the money spent in the lower leagues, he has also spent an aweful lot in the top flight, a league that for me you cant just get away with spending money in. Im not saying he should be in danger, he has a TW and half the season to go aswell as the uptirn in performances from us. But To say he should not be under review is utterly reduculous when you factor in the cash spent
  19. You know full well the post I quoted wasnt for discussion though was it ? And we have already spoken about how dependant on the perspective of the writer seems to denote whether or not the article is reliable, for instance a happy clappy will say this is unreliable, you however would probably disagree. It needs some objectivity, not just a knee jerk reaction. All in all though your post was designed to get a reaction, that Im sure of
  20. Top top news, this is the right place for his development right now. Alps please dont derail another thread
  21. Any need to come on here and post your usual inflammatory crap to get a rise ? The discusion was going quite well, lets not derail it eh !?
  22. The above was what I was saying in regards to RDM, basically Chelsea galvanised and won it themselves, the jury is still out for me. Players will play for him though, as he has won the CL
  23. I agree TBH RDM won the CL with chelsea, Im not going to belittle his achievement, winning at Barca and Bayern was fantastic. I dont really see how it was his tactics though, it was the only tactics that would be employed TBH, defend and try to nick a goal, in reality his job was to motivate, and they had probably done that themselves. Gross, fantastic at Basel, nowhere else really. But I dont think the mail really know who our targets are, RDM is an obvious, Gross probably name out of a hat and Adkins being under review is probably a given really.
