  1. Pretty much my thoughts, very well summed up, it wont get you anywhere though, trying to reason with this joker is like trying to counsel Alpine. Id accept the arguement that all three arent good enough, but putting Davis back in goal ? Really ? I blamed him for the majority of the goals at the start of the season, and reckon with Boruc or Gazza we would have atleast stolen a draw somewhere.
  2. Hopefully we will be back in for Dawson, but not mess around so much this time.
  3. Yeah well Im gonna start adding some kettlebell work into my normal gym routine, twice a week, hopefully Ill get a bit of tone
  4. You have seen Kelvin in goal this season I take it ?
  5. And Reading

  7. There is nothing available at a reasonable price that will get us over the slump, and lets face it even if we brought in Friedel a single dodgy parry etc would mean the ***ts in the Northam would be on his back straight away. Boruc didnt even get a whole game for his debut before being ridiculed. Fwiw I think he currently looks our best option, not great no but certainly better than a poor Davis and an inexperienced Gazza. Added to this is what someone said the other day on here, I forget who, but basically there is now a culture of fear, a mistake could result in being dropped and that gets in players heads.
  8. Whilst I agree, prepare for the PC brigade to tell us why we should pay so much to those that contribute so little Poor little darlings
  9. I managed to drop 2 stone over the summer in order to get myself into shape for the football season, aswell as add a bit of tone and get myself back to a level of fitness that Ive not really been in for the last few years. I have had two ACL tears in the last 8 years, coupled with the recovery times and poor NHS diagnosis I had been unable to properly train for ages. I got over the last one, only to make my well deserved comeback.... And tear my hamstring. I got over the hammy (v hard work), got pre season training and was the most unfit out of the team of 22 confirmed by bleep test, this got my back up and I set myself a target of being in atleast the top 10. I worked like a beast for 6 weeks, looking to put on mainly leg muscle, cardio work and a little top half. I cleaned up my eating, got on the creatine and protien and it all worked wonders. Every night I did a 40 min interval sprint/jog at a 1:1 ratio followed up by weight work alternated each night between upper and lower. In the mornings of 3 days a week I did Plyos and had weekends off. Eating, just cut out crap, the physio who sorted my hammy also studied to be a nutritionist who basically told me the one mistake people make is look at fat content and cut that out, which doesnt work, its the sugar. So I tasked myself of ignoring the fat and eating less sugary things (its amazing how much sugar is in food !!) What I will say is if your really training then skipping carbs isnt an option, without them I just didnt have the energy to push myself. I changed to wholewheat pasta, salads and a protien and veg. Porridge is a brilliant energy booster for the day too. Anyways, 6 weeks and I had slimmed noticeably, and come the bleep test was now 3rd in the team, not bad going, it was bloody hard work and the DOMs you get from Plyometrics are easily the worst I have EVER felt but it was worth it. What Id say is if you can give up an hour a day then get down the gym, ignore everyone there and really push yourself. If not then eat healthier, just cut out sugary stuff and try to do 20 mins of HIIT or Plyometrics, you will be laughing. And set a measurable goal to keep you motivated, its better to have a fitness goal like great south run etc as it makes you get fit and so lose weight IMO
  10. It certainly would not surprise me if he left, we were looking for potential in this area in the summer but no one met Lamberts valuation.
  11. Your a bit strange really, you want so many of our players to fail He didnt do an aweful lot wrong against a side that were rampant. Hardly the same as making costly mistakes like Davis has done recently.
  12. Im scared....
  13. For those interested, if you download Skyfire from Appstore (1.99) you can watch firstrow etc on iphone It analyzes and converts the flash video so it plays on Iphone Voila If it doesnt work straight away wait, can take up to a minute
  14. They only come online when it kicks off I think
  15. True though, he comes onto a thread chucks a post that is bound to cause reaction, reports those reactions etc etc
  16. You have kids ? Hopefully the missus ? Obviously she has the brain cell for the night, along with the humour and personality
  17. I bow to your superior knowledge, thankfully you put your case forward in such a constructive, intuitive and understanding way. Seen him play regularly in the prem did you ? Before he started ?
  18. Not exactly the way I remember it going, and if I remember rightly it wasnt necessarily the inclusion of Shaw who I admit has done incredibly well, but then it was a gamble, you couldnt have known a 17 yr old would have been so consistant and Id also like to point out that he is getting more cover then Fox ever did as well as Cork making so much of a difference. But of course, its because we are all just morons. I really dont agree with Boruc over Davis though, Davis looks really poor, Boruc I think will be ok with a bit of confidence. But you might be right, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  19. To get a left back better than Fox will cost around 3m and wages, plus they wont be happy on the bench. Fox is decent enough for the time being unless a bargain appears
  20. We seem pretty good at developing left backs
  21. They have some very good players that dont get on with each other very well, and many are the old adage of typical Mercenaries, Fernandes and Hughes were probably pleased to have grabbed them but in reality many were players looking for a last pay day. Granero is a top player, Diakite on his day is decent, they need CBs desperately. If they go down itll be a disaster, no relegation clauses, high wages, this is the reason teams need a decent transfer comittee
  22. Seriously you had time to drag up a thread from 2009 ? Really ? Im not sure the people that made a judgement on a young, out of his comfort zone creative midfielder, struggling in a team that was on the way down....... Shouldnt be the ones hanging their heads in shame FWIW I didnt comment on this thread but always saw something in Morgan, glad that he has turned into the force that he has
  23. That sort of thing shows either that QPR are not attractive right now OR that Fernandes doesnt want to put his hand in his pocket any more this season. If thats the case it is game over IMO despite how good a manager Harry is, who, I have heard through the grapevine thinks he may have made a poor decision going to QPR and the situation (in fighting etc) is worse than he thought
  24. Id be more worried about Kenwyne in the air then carroll
  25. I can see why they would want him if he were to recapture the form which took him to the EPL, is he not off to the ACON with Morocco though ? Atleast I thought he was Moroccon anyway ? I have a feeling that WHU and Liverpool know more about Carroll and his injuries then is being let on TBH
