No, and neither did they before they signed him!

Interesting that after 350 views and 7 hours not one person has stated a preference for Targets 1 to 3 Would have thought after some of the inane comments on other threads about our failure to secure signings that the answer was both obvious and beyond question to some people. Damned if you do, damned if you don't

2 interesting comments in there on page 53 One says he turned down a top 4 club preferring to join us (and play presumably) The second says he turned down 2 more lucrative offers to join us (heavens knows why, other than the same as above) Edit - beaten to it..... again

Very true. There are a million other issues that effect transfers from hardball negotiators to last minute third parties crawling out of the woodwork to claim part of the transfer fee. My point is that the situation is complicated enough in its most straight forward form (we'll see how many people even make a choice from the 3 options above), without considering all the other stuff that goes on, and yet people are always so disappointed that we haven't secured all of our key targets by the end of June

Ok, given the discussion on numerous other threads (I know what you're thinking, did we need another one?), I thought this simple question would get to the heart of how people think on here. It might even be worth a poll, up to the mods. Lets say we need a big strong centre back (as if?) We isolate 3 targets of varying standards but for simplicity they all have similar wage demands We approach Target no 1, our perfect man, he says he's interested but wants an unspecified amount of time to consider (otherwise known as waiting to see if there are any better offers) Do you wait as long as it takes for him? Or move on to target number 2? Target No 2 is not quite as good as Target 1, he's decent has prem experience, but is probably a couple of years past his peak. He says he's very keen but wants to think about it. He promises to give you an answer within 2 weeks! Do you wait for him? Or move on to target No 3 Target No 3 has been around but is still solid. He'll sign the contract now if you offer him one but he has another offer and is keen to get himself sorted so he won't wait for you to wait for others. Do you sign him up? This for me is the nub of the problem. NC could get players who are no better than what we've got tomorrow, but he doesn't want that. We've got a shot at better, but they want the best package at the best club they can get. They have no affinity with SFC (face it, only fans do). If you dismiss players because they don't just jump at SFC (lack of commitment some call it - I call it being professional about your career) then there won't be many left. So which is it? Wait for the best and risk not getting anyone, or jump in and secure a player of a lower standard who could just about do the job? Note that complaining that we didn't sign the best out there by yesterday isn't an option!

I think there might be some milage in getting Rallyboy onto some more creative writing. The Secret Diary of Trevor Perch, Age 45 3/4 The story of a top notch football administrator who lives with his mum and secretly suffers from fear of the dark and irritable bowel syndrome, driven to the brink of despair by his affair with a local Newspaper Journo and his role of trying to rescue the bestest football club in the world (or that's what his tattoo covered book store owning half-brother told him when he agreed to take the job). Despised by his Partners for continually accepting work that doesn't pay and soon to be struck off HMRC's preferred list when they realise he's kept the club running for 6 months longer than necessary therefore even further diluting their already miniscule return on monies owed. What do you think Rallyboy? Worth a daily entry of between 1 and 1000 words? I'll even do Day 1 for you? Tuesday 17 July Spoke to lovely My Chinny today about the FL statement. He said he'd get back to me later and told me to stop reversing the charges. I think he likes me! Not sure the team Manager Mr Appy does though. He seemed most upset when I told him his budget for team building was 2 packets of plain digestives and a can of 7up. He also seemed a bit put out when I told him that he and his friends have been booked 'open-air' accommodation for their Gib trip under that lovely motorway flyover just south of the spanish border. What does he think I am? Made of money? Never mind, when Mr Chinny comes up trumps and pumps £20m into the club like he promised via his tubby arabian friend who looks like an ice cream salesman the club can go to a level you just won't believe!!!

Ok, ready? Question No 1 (you'll all need to know this if you're going to play for the bestest club) How much did we pay Creditors on our first CVA? No? Ok, how about this. Question 2 What percentage of due wages have been paid to our players in the last 6 months? Still No? How about this. Question 3 How much is Kanu claiming to be owed over what period? Right, last one. Question 4 If we say we'll give you £2,000/week. What will we actually give you? Wait.... come back.... what do you mean you don't want to sign for us????? We might be able to pay you (later)! FFS

I'm bored with the continued suggestion that the Players will be responsible for the club going out of business. A hundred sh1t decisions endorsed by the fans will see the club go out of business. The contracts that were handed to the players will see the club go out of business. It is not the players responsibility to give up their (legally binding) contracts. These types of comments are the sort made by spoilt youngsters that couldn't count when they were losing at table tennis.....14-10 to you...... lose another 3 points, what's the score?..... 14-10 to you....... but it was 14-10 3 points ago....... no it wasn't..... yes it was....... maybe it was, let me off those? Grow up and take responsibility for your f*ck ups. You don't just get let off in life (although PFC are having a f*cking good go at it - 130million times over) (Rant not over - I'm going for it again later!)
-
Ha ha We want the money, but we want to keep the player as well
-
Ha ha ha..... we'll be competitive at this level Maybe you should play the Sunday League Youth Acadamies. You might even the be classed as good in comparison
-
Come on VFTT...... cut and paste!
-
Always thought that Ken Bates was a decent bloke ;-)
-
Thanks for that. Never fails to amaze me the depth of knowledge of the Nutjobs on this board

So do you think AFC Wimbledon should have no right to 'their' FA Cup? That was a new team formed in non-league, and the original incarnation was still going strong in the form of MK Dons I think that the basis of every team is the fans and if anyone has a right to the history it's them (although I might make an exception in the case of the phew)
-
A rich new owner kinda helped in that case though! If he loses interest then.... who knows?
-
I agree. AFC Wimbledon have claimed the old clubs history successfully
-
It's always a pleasure reading your comments Mero A real novelty.... a Skate with a brain
-
Even if the guy did actually say that, it's very irresponsible reporting to actually say that in print. He needs to be hauled up for that. If any fan takes it on himself to confront, abuse, threaten or (god forbid) assault TBH, Mr Allen will have played a significant role and be responsible His behaviour and reporting has moved from moronic to dangerous
-
Is someone going to keep track of these dates. I'd hate for someone to steel the 24th off me!
-
That clause certainly hasn't made it any easier for TB. Good to see the parachute payments being used for what they were meant for though.
-
I'm going to play the odds on this one It'll be announced on the 24th July
-
If I was TBH I would be asking for the Club to guarantee my safety, which is of course their responsibility. Even more so when you consider that TB's comments continually whip up ill feeling In fact, I think he'd be perfectly within his rights to refuse to play!
-
Now watch the ground being revalued from £2m to £10m
-
I'm secured. I'll get my money back. All together now.... Oh no you won't!
-
They make Gray redundant, and then Voldermort thinks he can bring in another coach because...... well, just he wants one. Nothing has changed Appy. You didn't have the money for Gray then, and you don't have the money for Westwood now. In fact, you don't have any money for anything! Duh!
