Every year people say Lambert isn't up to it and he won't perform at the next level. Every year he does. I look forward to watching him prove you all wrong again Enjoy

I'd like to see an article in the Snooze along the lines of:- FANS MUST TAKE PART OF THE BLAME FOR POMPEY DECLINE ...and then chapter and verse about how there were no dissenting voices and demonstrations about Mandy selling the club to the gun runners son or the subsequent sales to the fake sheik, the invisible man and the russian mafia. They've had plenty of chances to raise their voices about the shady characters killing their club. But while the 'quality' signings were happening and the FA Cup was being bought, they were all happy. Come on Allen, show some balls, Many of the people you are blaming deserve it, but you seem to be missing out one critical party in all this. Maybe Rallyboy could draft a piece for you?

Interesting this propaganda thing We don't even know if Lumpitt actually did this other than the snooze writing about it (do we?) - How did they know? They'll write anything to be the champions of the few, which usually just means blaming everyone else other than the worlds bestest Allen must either really hate his job (ie, know what he's having to do to fill the pages, but needing to do it to keep the money coming in at home) or either he believes all the sh1t (and therefore is just a complete ar5ehole). My monies on the second.

Interestingly, I met up with a Derby fan yesterday who I haven't seen for about 6 years. When we got to talking football and agreeing our mutual dislike of a certain Billy Davies, he said that they spent £10m on new players the year they were promoted back to the PL (when they were then relegated with a record low total) and they didn't buy 1 player better than they already had. That to me is the thing to be careful of. I would rather buy one player for the full budget who will improve us than 5 who might

Don't forget it was a 5 year plan to get back to the PL and NC said half way through last season that if it was achieved this year then it would free up budgeted funds for years 4 and 5 for other purposes. No idea what we had set-aside for losses trying to get promoted from the Championship in the final 2 years of the plan but we've got to be talking significant figures. Say £5-10million a year (Say £15m for the 2 together) Add that to AOx money and allocate a chunk of the PL TV money and if you wanted you could easily justify £30miliion. Not saying I want us to spend anything like that, and it's not a sum that would make RA envious at Chelsea (God I hate it when posters can't see any ground between black and white), but it is a very decent amount of money. Bottom lines though is no-one knows so you have to trust the guys in charge and their track record isn't bad so far Edit - Blimey on the same wavelength as at least one other poster anyway, Great minds eh?

Only of you're thinking of using the West Ham strategy of buying every forward available. Strange when Sam prefers 4-5-1 anyway

I think the chaplow to Burnley link is a red herring It is a midfielder but the whisper I've heard is actually Hammond

Sorry to disappoint you DP but Game of Thrones is at 9pm on Mondays in the UK .....if you live in the UK and you didn't know that then you've just missed it!

I think that the FL board have to be absolutely convinced that PFC can complete the season to allow them to proceed. I don't think vague promises of sufficient funding are enough. Unless there are different rules for PFC......

COURT 5 Before MR JUSTICE DAVID RICHARDS Friday, 25 May 2012 At half past 10 FOR JUDGMENT TRIAL LIST HC11C00557 Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs v The Football League Ltd Really! Judge is Dave Richards..... Can't see the FL losing when the judge is one of the bosses of the PL ;-)

If they lent public money to the Skates they'd need hauling through the courts. The worst credit rating in the history of the world!
-
Exactly. Chinney is a bit of annoyance to TB. So sell as much as possible and come June 2nd admit to the FL that you can't complete next years fixtures. The golden share is then withdrawn and Chinney can 'not let the club go into liquidation', but there'll be nothing left for him to asset strip. Might even be that the Prem and FL retain the parachute payments against football debt and Chinney gets the ground and sweet f*ck all else.

I don't get fans crap attitudes When Man U lost at home to blackburn earlier in the season, did all their fans call the team bottles and slag them off? Also don't get the suggestion that saints always make things difficult. The only constant over the last 20 years is the fans. Not the chairman, manager or Players. So if their is an issue with lack of staying power it can only rest in one place (or be imagined bullsh1t)

From our position announcements about playoff tickets would be seen as extreme lack of confidence and would attract massive criticism I think the suggestion that the club is showing a lack of foresight is just an excuse to have dig about something

How long should we wait before signing next seasons squad?

Reading finish at Brum Brum won't want to finish 6th and play West Ham in the Play-Off Semi, so won't be a push over Champions is very much still on -
Would be good to win the Championship though Maybe if they get promoted tonight they'll take their foot off the accelarator

Saints Player working fine for me

ggggggooooooaaaaaaallllllllll

Their denial is such that they will still insist that they can stay up after today...
-
I wonder if now the 'age' thing has come to light (Kanu is actually 42 - is that for real?), can they cancel his contract which would have been signed under false pretences / false information? Not even the Skates would be stupid enough to give a long contract taking an outfield player up to their 43rd birthday...... would they?

Interesting seeing the pictures on Sky just after the final whistle. Guly had to be intercepted by the coaching staff as he headed straight for the tunnel. Wasn't keen on an about turn

Thought Sharp scored twice yesterday and Lambert got zero
