I might be wrong but I thought Swansea were a fan owned club? It was certainly a group of fans that did the massive amount of work involved in saving them from their previous nightmare of an owner. If so, surely they're the biggest (or did they say in England rather then the FL?). Someone correct me if I'm wrong
-
More likely they could only find 10 people down there who actually pay tax
-
Thinking about it, I can't recall the FL ever using the term transfer embargo in relation to 'them' They did say no signings until you've reduced your wage bill and as all contracted players have gone then they've done that. I think the main factor is what TB is making available to spend and what his policy is. As little commitment as possible probably and that's what he currently has. The FL do seem to have set a limit of 20 players for them though
-
Hmmmm Aged player signed for experience..... leading to assistant coaching role..... leading to new Italian Manager. Does he have any coaching badges? Too much of a conspiracy theory?
-
Think someone needs to email the FL and point this out. No way that this was intended when the rule was set out
-
Would you want to be Pimpeys landlord. Better take a f*cking massive deposit because their payment record isn't too hot
-
One thing you can be 100% sure of is anything Matt says about NC's intentions is speculation because he's the last person on the planet that NC would confide in!
-
NC may bear a grudge on the takeover (and the exclusivity issue) but Matt doesn't. To my knowledge all the 'dislike' regarding this issue (the takeover on the whole) comes from NCs side, but there's more to that than simply who won and Pinnacles exclusivity blocking ML. Matt is just pleased the club is in safe hands for the long term. From Matt's side its mainly the Benali thing and then I guess a hundred petty small things like those mentioned on TWITter this evening. Anyway
-
He isn't resentful about Pinnacle losing, not sure what his current views are about the personalities there-in but he'd be silly to think they'd be doing a better job than team ML. Never said anything to suggest he does. See above post, and repeat until falling into drunken stupor
-
Correct with the Benali part, not quite with the first part. As I've said on another thread (or earlier on this one, I don't recall, too much red wine since getting back from the game), Matt is totally happy that ML gained control. All I'm going to say (and all that matters) is that there is some resentment related to the pre-takeover period between NC and Matt but it doesn't relate to who won. That needs to be swept under the bridge (see edit) and forgotten about from both sides. The Benali stuff will run a while yet so what can you do? (puts head down and pours another glass of red...)
-
Morgan was excellent - now watch Fergie make an offer for him in January. He was better than anyone in their midfield
-
That's true isn't it. Wish he wouldn't do that on TWITter. Probably a heat of the moment thing. What I meant to say is (I think) he doesn't actually come out and say 'I think NC is a c*nt', but I guess he feels a bit powerless with the other stuff. Just got to ignore it and get on with his life I'll tweet him and tell him to give it a rest!
-
Great - Works for me. I can get that to Matt, you get it to NC... and then we can watch nothing happen
-
Agree 100% Unfortunately the most relevant thing in what you point out is that the players we're missing and can look forward to are midfielders and forwards - NO DEFENDERS. If something costs us at the end of the day this is what it'll be. Enjoy the season. The games we win will probably be 6-5 EDIT - Yes Yosh is a defender (I'm an idiot!) - Not sure yet that he's any better than we have. Here's to hoping!
-
NA has done great at all the other levels of the game. This is a new challenge but he has the tools at his disposal to be a success... unfortunately he won't have long to do the business. I hope he gets some good (points scoring) results on the board soon
-
Not going to happen - Wish it would but no way But having said that I didn't see the Puncheon U-turn coming either so who knows. Thought about it again. Can you see Le Tiss writing an open letter saying how great and forgiving NC is? Gone full circle. No way, not going to happen
-
I'm an NA fan but he has surprised me in the last 2 games For the last 10 minutes against Wigan he sat on the bench leaning on his hands - he had no idea what to do ...and as for the subs today - don't get me started. Hope you're learning fast Nigel because 0 out of 9 is what you get (despite some good performances) when you play teams in this division and don't defend properly or take more of your chances (particularly against Wigan) But I'm confident we'll finish mid-table (crosses fingers and looks for lucky heather)
-
Thank you very much Much appreciated
-
This 100% The only way to deal with it is to give it no press and no time. Let if fade and hope they can learn to not react to each other because there is no other way forward
-
Matt isn't upset that ML and NC got the club at all - that's crap. He just wanted to see the club saved and it has been Not sure why he bothered tweeting though, it was never going to help
-
Le Tiss makes his love and support for the club very clear. Purchasing a couple of season tickets when he can only see one game in three also shows that if any were in doubt. (Unlikely I know) We need them both. Just hope it doesn't boil to close to the surface, and it won't from Matt's side.
-
Unfortunately yes and no it will never be resolved. Just hope they learn to ignore each other Very sad
-
Difficult choice isn't it Punch, MS and JWP were great. Lambert, Lallana and Davis weren't too shoddy either. Hope Mr Ramirez knows what he has to do to get a place in the team now (and no, it isn't learn how to play centre back!)
-
Do we not have MotM polls when we lose? Puncheon for me anyway. If he played half that well with that much effort every week I'd give him a long long contract

Taxi for Guly- Up north as far as possible
Winchester Red replied to Saints Warrior's topic in The Saints
Hate player bashing, whether it's Benali, Telf or now Guly. But I've got to say, having about 8 other good options now we have Gaston and Mayuka is going to make it that much more difficult for him to get in the team and for that I'm grateful. Sorry Mr Guly. A nice fella but not up to this level of football (just my opinion of course )
