  1. I have a mate in the Hampshire Constabulary. He says they never police a game if they've not received payment for the last one, so even if they sort out Hull, the next one might be a struggle! Amusingly, he also said that he hopes they don't go bust because policing them is always a nice little earner!
  2. Harry Redknapp says he didn't take his £140,000 severance payment from PFC. He says he told them to give it to a Youth Football Project in Portsmouth. ..... I wonder if they ever received it?
  3. Understand - Thank you
  4. Going back to the rumour that CSI are to be liquidated next week. Surely if you liquidate the parent company, you automatically liquidate (if you have not sold) the companies that it owns. Obviously if they are assets with value they would have been sold, but you can't liquidate the parent company and keep a subsiduary (sp?) company running. Can you...?
  5. I understand and support those that choose not to go... actually means... We're going to get f*** all turning up and therefore we need an excuse to justify the lack of numbers
  6. It p1sses me off the suggestion in that article that if the accounts hadn't been frozen they would have paid the players, staff, suppliers, etc (charities?) on time, as they always do, oh yes, every time, without fail, yes siree W*nkers
  7. I love it that they're saying the players haven't been paid because HMRC froze the account. Ignore the fact there was nothing in the account anyway!
  8. I thought these things were always announced on Fridays? Oh
  9. We've known what is personal terms are for a bloody long time. Don't think there's anything new to learn there
  10. I guess planning ahead Although if we get to the PL that'll be one massive jump in standard for him, and he wont be getting a couple of years to get his feet under the table
  11. Can anyone confirm whether AA can be the administrator of PFC as well as CSI beyond doubt? I've seen it said he will be and can't be over recent pages
  12. Shame. I was hoping that it was referring to them not paying their players 4 times this season! Never mind, I'm sure that'll be the next scenario. Have January's wages been paid?
  13. Where was that quote from?
  14. We signed him at the same time as 5 other players, and they were all presented at the same time. I think the Manager at the time (Dave Jones?) blamed our poor performance on introducing too many new faces at the same time. Among the others (I think) were David Howels, Mark Hughes and maybe Stuart Ripley. Anyone want to add to that (or contradict it). My point being that it wasn't a case of we just signed a non-league guy whilst everyone was buying superstars (not that any of our other signings fell into the superstar category though! )
  15. That didn't seem a good trait in Nugent the other day - Slap would have been too good. I wanted to kick the c**p out of him
  16. Blackpool's £750k was probably more like £250k down, £250k in 12 months and £250k dependent on goals / appearances etc If we put down £500k and you can have him back for the next 4 months, to me that's a better offer
  17. I wonder if other clubs fans have as little trust in their manager and chairman as ours do. 'I've given it 5 seconds thought and I can't see why they've done this therefore (even though they've been through the whole process on this player) NA and NC are wrong and crap and...........' Makes me want puke (Sorry to group everyone in that rant, obviously some of you don't make pathetic instant reactions..... I guess you could call that a pathetic reaction by me )
  18. Interesting point 1 - Makes it seems like there's a whole lot of wiggle room (just for a change) Interesting point 2 - Why is the previous CVA irrelevant? They have form for screwing people, especially HMRC. Why ignore it? Interesting point 3 - If into administration it says 'not Andronikou' - Good news, but why? and if Chinney gets a say then what's to stop the next administrator being a puppet too?
  19. What's more important? First post on page 1000 or post number 50000?
  20. Agents will certainly use the 'If he's worth X transfer fee then you should pay him Y argument' but as others have said, there isn't an exact link. Some clubs need to sell and will take less, others don't and will demand more (us being a prime example). You wouldn't pay a worse player than lallana or lambert more than they were getting. As I said Chairman are damned either way
  21. It's not unlike ID cards generally. There are a lot of good reasons to have them... and they are the same reasons some people don't want them. Read into that whatever you want
  22. Well I can only answer as if it were me making the bids, but if it were, I'd let the fans know that bids had been accepted to show that we were at least trying (and on a very decent level). If we can't agree terms then it's either down to our lack of paying power or to players unrealistic expectations. I don't see why people knock the PFC comparison. They are a prime example of lets buy another player and pay them whatever they want (and they have to because who'd go there for the love of it!?). I'd like us to be here in 20 years time. It's a very fine line all football league chairman walk, and they are definitely damned either way.
  23. If Arsenal can stick rigidly to the pay structure their board think they can afford then so can we. I know some smart arse is going to say they've won f*** all for the last 6 years but they've won more than enough since that policy was introduced. Bottom line is if we can't afford the wages on our gates and tv money etc then we can't pay them (Unless Dune has a very big credit card!) I seem to remember it being said that there was money available for capital expenditure projects and transfer fees (from ML) but actual running costs had to be funded from the business. You can also bet your bottom dollar that paying someone new more than our highest earner will trigger 5 or 6 large pay increases for the likes of Lambert, Lallana, etc. So another £5k a week for Mr X will likely cost us another £30k, which another £1-2m on the overhead. NC has to safe guard the club as well as try and get success. We are in a far better position than most
