  1. I see comparisons between this guy and James Beattie when we first bought him form Blackburn Raw talent, enthusiasm (not sure when you lost that Beats) and hard running Wouldn't be disappointed if he turned out the same!
  2. Sven has spent £10m already and you never know, that might be the limit the Thai's have given him. Sven always every penny he's given whether a player is over-priced or not. If he wants more ex-prem overpaid has-beens, he might be forced to sell a few of his current squad first. This might be one of them, although doubt we'd offer the £3m they spent on him
  3. Peterborough pulled out and SB said he didn't want to go there Either suggests SB thought Ferguson was a kn*b (probably right!) or the they thought SB had a crap attitude Interesting.....
  4. It's not unlike the ild Anfield Bootroom way. We'll sign you now but you're going to be in the reserves / on the bench for the first 6 months. Learn the way we play, get used to the culture. A settled side with quality pushing to get in and eventually given it's chance. Difficult to argue with
  5. I guess the same reason that half the footballing world has joined Leicester. Either loads of money or to work under a 'world-class' manager like Sven (no really, I'm serious - stop laughing!)
  6. Everyone knew he was going for ages and we also got a huge amount of money for him Not the same as Villa bidding for Lallana or Fonte tomorrow, the player and agent agitating for a move for the next week and then him being gone
  7. It says something that here we are, 2 weeks from the end of the transfer window, and all the talk is of who else can we buy. We have some cracking players, some of which would interest Premier League clubs (Fonte and Lallana to name a couple), and yet no-one seems worried at all. I know they've recently signed new contracts but everyone knows that means f*ck all if they decide they want to go. Some (or even most) Prem clubs are desperate for new players (AP at Newcastle anyone?). Paul Jewell admitted Ipswich had bid for Ricky earlier so obviously bids come in all the time and are quietly turned away (or screwed up and put in the bin) ....but no-one is worried and neither am I. Whatever it is, be it happy players, other chairman not wanting to deal with NC, whatever. Long may it continue Just an observation - That's all
  8. Maybe as a makeweight in a bigger deal yet to be announced? Is Ings still available?
  9. If that's it then that's not too bad at all I think we need to get the first 5 on that list tied up again
  10. Anyone know? I think Morgan might be one
  11. Our new manager lost his first game
  12. Hmmmm. Seem to recall the current Real Madrid manager started out as an interpreter. Doh, beaten to it...
  13. N Adkins 2/3 WTF!?
  14. I thought Wenger and AP hated each other. That would make this unlikely unless they've made-up
  15. Because it needs putting to bed without people needing to read 100's of posts to see if there wea a good reason or whether it's all bull****. Simple as that (in the same way as I couldn't be ars*d to read the whole thing to see if someone else had pointed out what I did (Mods - delete if you like!)
  16. I can clear this up once and for all...... because I was sitting in middle of those booing The camera was on ML, people cheered, he looked up and saw the camera was on him and gave a big cheesy grin (lovely fella). The camera then moves to NC and he doesn't notice. ML gives him a 'the cameras on you' type nudge, and NC glances up and looks straight down again - that got him the boos. Takes himself very seriously is all. It was exactly the same as when we sing 'Pardew, give us a wave' - if he waves back he gets a big cheer..... if he doesn't then he gets silence of a good natured boo Simple as that - mountain..... molehill..... Now, back to that fantastic win
  17. Nice touch from their manager, lee Clarke (?), to shake everyone of our players hands as they came off He won't be claiming we were lucky in his post match interviews!
  18. Do they really want them to know!?
  19. Nice to see their taking a rational equally balanced view on this. (That's because it's all lies you f*ckwit!!!) (Keith Keith, not Hutch obviously!)
  20. B*llocks I'm wrong :smt103 Half way down says may have to terminate contracts http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/pompey-go-into-administration Although that may mean they still have to be paid up???? (He says hopefully!) Let me just go and find a stone to crawl under ](*,)](*,)
  21. In fact, I think it's something to do with the PFA rather than the PL. I will look into it because I do get a certain perverse pleasure fro being right when being questioned by someone particularly knowledgable like yourself Benji
  22. I have heard it said many times that footballers contracts are protected, but I couldn't point you in the direction of where to find it written down. Like everything, the rules for you and me are very different to footballers. I think it's treated like a football debt I'm confident enough, say 99% - so by the standards of this site. Yes.... Yes it is fact
  23. He can't cancel any football contract without paying it up in full. That could still be way less than the 'playing' cost for the term though, as it will only be the basic sum without appearance, goal, win, etc bonuses. Whenever the media say someone is on, say, £50k a week it will really be: £20k basic £10k appearance £5k per goal £10k image rights or whatever I think he would only be obliged to pay up the basic and could try and negotiate his way out for less. It depends how much the player would like to get away (and who can blame them!)
  24. What a slur!!! Surely the PL is the god of all institution's? Sound beyond question? Levels of integrity that are so ingrained in the moral.......... ah nuts You're probably right
  25. The way I understand it is the Administrator will arrange loans with a bank or whatever using the (PL approved) parachute payment as security. The club get their money now, and the PL pays the bank directly the loan sum plus interest when the parachute payment is due. The PL doesn't hold the money itself so it can't just give it early, and Sky sure as hell can't. Their debts are more than the entire PL combined!!!
