A tight 1-0 win i think. Pool are gonna swamp the midfield with players to try and close out our passing football. An early goal could open it up but if it doesnt then i hope that the players have been practising shooting this week as we need to make every chance count.

Injuries and performances depending we can look forward to mid to upper table at the very least IMO. The biggest struggle will be keeping this team together for any length of time without having them picked off one by one by the Premiership vultures.

Every time i take my little sister to a home cup game we win so maybe thats why we havent lost a league cup game at St Mary's.
-
Depends heavily on how strong Brums teams gonna be but i dont think well win: 0-2 Brum
-
Expecting to the team to consist of the following (baring in mind possible injury to Holmes and Svensson being rested): -------------Davis---------- James--Cork--Perry--Surman ----Gillet-----Schniederlin--- ----White--Lallana--Dyer---- ----------McGoldrick-------- Bench: Bart, Mills, Hatch, Wotton, John, BWP, Euell If the games going well (big IF mind) then i would like to see Mills come on at some point and Surman move up to the left wing position as i think he could well there in the absence of Holmes.
-
Hopefully he'll get a run out again tomorrow.

Your better off waiting for the Virgin Media highlights to be put up either today or tomorrow.
-
Blackpool at home followed by QPR away, Ipswich and Barnsley at home. These next four matches are very winnable if we play like we did today and take our chances. The future could be looking very bright!

Wouldnt have been so annoyed if hadnt made the highlights of the Plymouth vs Swansea game (another 0-1 by the way) Nearly 2 minutes long showing every scuffed chance and corner as well as their goal. Why does that game warrant 2 minutes and all the others are crammed into 20 seconds worth of footage. They didnt even get the goal scorer right!!
-
Need to play a few of the more experienced players i reckon: Davis James, Svensson, Perry, Surman Wotton, Shniederlin Lallana, McGoldrick, Holmes John That team may have enough about it to get some sort of result against Brum but their strikeforce looks very strong and our defence is still a bit creaky. Im going for a 2-2 draw but with us under the cosh for long periods of the game.
-
Did they really need to show 30 mins of highlights from a game where 6 of the 7 goals were scored in the first half hour? They then had to rush through the remaining games and didnt even cover the last 7 matches that were played. Amateurish coverage as always.
-
I thought that as the team lined up against West Ham. Player for player we are quite a bit smaller than most teams in this league but by the same token we should be quicker and besides the players dont look afraid to put their foot in when required so we should be ok with the physicality of the general play if not the set pieces.
-
So in a 1000+ essay on the league we get what? 7 words! I know we not exactly big time any more (if we ever were) but the lack of media coverage on us is rediculous.

Gets him off our wage bill and him a chance to play 1st team football for half a season at least. Shame really as i would have liked to have seen him prove how good he can be but with the other strikers ahead of him he was unlikely to get the run in the side required to get his confidence back. Good luck to him.

3-2 Cardiff
-
How do you get it back onto the old version?
-
I agree with saint ross, i would go for someone a little more experienced on the right over thomson, Dyer or BWP most likely. Whoever plays there is going have to deal with the likes of Joe Ledley so needs to be prepared to defend just as much as attack.
-
Funny how a team with the likes of John, BWP, Wotton, Dyer, etc are now considered the 'second' team. Have to wait and see how well the team played in the 1st half but im getting more confident with every passing day that we'll at least be able to hold our own in this league and finish mid-table or higher.
-
if we get 22k+ for 3 games or more in a row then they will re-open the corners on a match by match decision i reckon. As long we play football like that i cant see why we wont be getting those sorts of numbers week in week out.
-
Put most of the 'older pros' in the team for this game for a match fitness build up and also to see if they are willing to put the effort in to win back there starting positions because on Fridays showing the young ones are here to stay. My team would be: Davis Imudia, Thomas, Lancashire, Mills Euell, Wotton Dyer, Skacel, Saga John
-
John and Rasiaks finishing are much better but are thye willing to put the work rate in? When your playing on your own up front you really need to want the ball and put alot of effort into finding yourself some space. The games where ive seen Rasiak play exposed, hes barely moved, expecting the ball to simply fall onto his foot to score. Similarly John when he came on friday fell over about 10 times and gave the ball away the rest of it. I would like to think that there is still a future at Saints for these 2 but if they dont fit into this system and quick we're better off without them IMO.
