  1. No wonder the "conversion team" are on the case with the 400 p***ed up pub pledger's, be like getting blood out of a stone I reckon.... I thought they had well over £2m in converted pledges to get them the 51%, actually pretty surprised with how low that number is, doesn't bode well for decision making.
  2. So the PST have £1.5m (and the "conversion team are on the case for another £400k), the Presidents have £1.6m. By my maths I make PST 48% shareholders.
  3. Eh, surely you need Connolly? Been your best player by a mile! I'd personally vote for Agent Howard, local Southampton lad done you right over.
  4. According to the Swiss Ramble's (excellent and extremely reliable source of financial football info') twitter analysis of our latest finance figures we released last month it was for £3.8m. Far lower than anyone thought it was for.
  5. I thought the skates were "Football League family club of the year" in 2012? Being the most obvious skate I've ever seen on here you'd know that though? Plenty of inbred types there swapping DNA. Personally I'll keep going with my pals.
  6. Poor effort from our resident skate here. The threads I start on POL are at least subtle. Once again you've put a target on your head. Mods, bin this clown off eh?
  7. Really appreciate the feedback Social Saint, I'm up here at 7am in my Hotel going to attempt to watch the stream on the dodgy wi fi. If I can't watch it online, or I can and we win, I'll head up to Ri Ra's and watch it, I'll post on here after in case you want to meet up for a pint with my good self! Up the Saints!
  8. Cheers fellas, looks like Mandelay Bay it is! Looking forward to it. Need a coffee before the beers probably but looking forward to it.
  9. You seen Bristol City (basket case club), Leicester City and Cardiff's debt & wage to turnover ratio? Frightening! West Ham lost £25m last season, that play off win was huge for them!
  10. Next week I'm off to a Vegas for 8 days at a conference. I'm missing the West Ham home game, just wondering if there was anywhere likely to be showing the game? Staying at Hilton Grand Vacation Suites so fairly central. I've got my laptop so can watch a stream from the comfort of my hotel bed, but the idea of a breakfast beer watching Soccer Saturday (even as an eternal optimist not even i you hope anywhere would actually show our game) on stream definitely appeals. Not holding my breath, last time I was out not a single casino had the Haye/ Harrison fight on (not that I missed much). Up the Saints!
  11. This sort of moron reminds me why I use this forum a lot less these days. Hurlock over Gaston. Nice one fella. I'm off.
  12. He was at the Liverpool game. Top bloke in their podcasts too....
  13.:lol: All over that! Although the first line will be forgotten/ hummed/ sped up the rest makes up for it.. "Welllllll" could be our "Milllllll" Fact!
  14. Outstanding player that would walk into any non top 4 side in the Prem. Big signing if it comes off, and possibly at a "reduced" price (10m as opposed to Napoli's 12m due to pre agreement with Astori that he helps keep Cagliari in Serie A). God it would be nice to sign someone early this summer (esp a CB), if/ when we ensure we are safe from relegation of course.
  15. Now Palmeri is on the case on twitter:
  16. Well seeing as scouts actually understand what makes a good footballer instead of looking for the next headless chicken "get stuck in mush" Chaplow MkII they will have noticed he's our most gifted player by a mile and adapting to the Premiership very well for a 21 year old. It seems that's what those unknowledgeable, anti football morons that are paid to scout for small clubs like AC Milan, Arsenal and Fiorentina that have been watching him think anyway... I genuinely despair at the football intelligence of our fans at some times, just glad they are in the stands rather than on the pitch as they couldn't spot a pass even if was on a FIFA demo! "Get stuck in" "Launch it" "Just hit Lambert FFS" "Why you d***ing about with it at the back, get it FORWARD" Just a selection of the drivel served up by the simpletons within ear shot of me in the Itchen North at times.
  17. 0% income tax for wages up to £10k is a huge boost for low paid workers and the growing part time work force. More money in people's pockets. Good effort!
  18. I'm afraid cash rich pensioners are seen as untouchable by the Government, I think that many do not need Christmas bonuses, winter fuel payments, TV licences and bus passes. I don't like penalising people for being prudent and saving properly, however this country needs everyone to make sacrifices, and 1/2 of the total welfare bill is spent on pensioners - something has to give. I know for a fact that when I get to pension age (however old that will be, I genuinely don't think I'll live that long at 30 now) I'll get nothing like what the current generation of pensioners get.
  19. I hope he carries on with the cuts. The deficit is huge and we can't carry on throwing good money after bad. Suck it up, tighten your belt and get on with it. Just wish he'd hammer cash rich pensioners a bit more myself.
  20. Personally I think it's a tasteless idea that our City should have no part of. By all means build museums and teach future generations of the sacrifices the engineers & crew from our City made on the ship, but a floating commercial insult to those that died is more suited for somewhere like Dubai - not here. Remember my Great Gran telling me what it was like at school in Chapel the next day, 12 kids from her class lost their Dad's on that ship. Still touches a nerve with me anyway.
  21. John Lewis is brilliant for TV's, will price match Curry's etc and give a 5 year warranty. Personally I have a 4 y/o LG 47" LCD, was going to upgrade this year but having recently started working in the Broadcast technology trade I'll be waiting 12/ 18 months. HD will be phased out in a year and replaced by something called 4K (or probably the more consumer friendly "Ultra HD"), basically it's 4 times the definition of HD (1080p), I've seen it in action and it's outstanding, never thought picture quality could get that good! Already production companies are filming TV series in 4K to "future proof" them, the only issue is distributing and storing the footage as it has huge quantities of data, but the rest of the industry is catching up with the cameras and at the CES exhibition in Vegas a couple of months ago LG, Sharp, Samsung, Panasonic and Sony were all demoing 4K consumer TV's (I personally have seen the Sony Bravia 84" 4K TV with a live link from a 4K camera at last year's IBC show in Amsterdam and it was by a mile the most impressive thing I've seen tech' wise). Basically 3D was a massive flop, people don't want to wear stupid glasses in their own homes and see high definition as preferable.
  22. Just wondering, whilst PKF are running the club in admin, is BC losing out on potential rental income on the ground? If it's worth £3m, £6m, £Xm whatever, surely BC should expect some sort of income for his asset and in the meantime are Pompey/ PKF getting it for free in effect?
  23. Well well well, Harris' group have made a new £6.3m offer for Fratton Park according to today's Times. Story below: The battle to assume control of Portsmouth took a new twist yesterday when it emerged that Keith Harris’s consortium has made a £6.3 million bid for Fratton Park, a figure more than double that offered by the Pompey Supporters’ Trust (PST). In a letter to PKF, the club’s administrator, dated March 1 that has been passed to The Times, the Harris group says that the cash offer “will take the form of an immediate payment, and will not be dependent on any deferred consideration”. PKF is believed to have acknowledged the receipt of the letter but, nearly three weeks later, has given no indication as to whether the offer is under serious consideration. Balram Chainrai, the former owner, claims that the club owe him £12 million, which is secured by a fixed charge on Fratton Park through his Portpin company. PST has asked for an independent valuation of the stadium and will go before the High Court next month to try to force through the sale to the PST for £3 million. Portpin is believed to be ready to release its security on the stadium if PKF takes up the Harris offer. The Football League has said that it will consider only the PST offer but the Harris group’s eagerness to reopen the deal may complicate matters. Harris, in his role as chairman of Seymour Pierce, the investment bank, has been involved with the club on and off during the recent period of instability, which has caused concern among the fans. Harris and his fellow investors, Alan Hitchins and Pascal Najadi, have embarked on a charm offensive by offering the PST 15 per cent of the club’s shares free of charge and a seat on the board. They have promised a discount of 10 per cent toseason ticket-holders and claim that their cash offer will eradicate the club’s debt and allow the team to compete in the transfer market as soon as the club come out of administration. The Harris bid also pledges to pay back donations to the PST in full. It may be a difficult sell. Najadi has infuriated a section of Portsmouth fans by taking legal action against a blogger and there are fears that Harris’s proposed deal for Fratton Park is just another way for Portpin to squeeze more money of the club. Harris denies this. “I have had involvement in the club over the years,” he said. “I know its potential. I can get it running properly.” The former Football League chairman has indicated that he will take a hands-on role if the bid is successful. The financial package proposed by Harris offers significant advantages to creditors and will place pressure on PKF and the Football League — neither of whom could be reached for comment last night — to open up the bidding process.
  24. Agree completely. Good to know I'm not the only one on here that appreciates a decent footballer.
