Are people more interested in Wednesdays international now?
JackanorySFC replied to ozzmeister's topic in The Saints
Love my country and proud to be English. Have followed us all over the world and always will. Club over country types tend to be modern day footie fans that need the excess of 24hr news updates on their club side blinkered to the uplift a good national side could have on their fellow Englishmen. Sad really but a sign of modern, selfish times maybe? Those that follow England away look to their fellow man and see genuine football fans, supporting clubs that are unfashionable (like us) through to the big boys when abroad, you meet other fans and they will talk football (with a proper grasp of history, unlike most modern type football manager morons) all night - oh and say how they wished Le God got a better run in the 3 lions (Le God being a universally liked player when you speak to others, he's more f an Ambassador than the QE2)! Personally I'm proud of Rickie, hopefully the day trippers up to Wembley will see him abroad in a proper Match, he deserves a competitive game IMO. Certain he will impress most and do what we expect from him. Up the Saints Up the England GSTQ -
I agree that it's getting beyond a joke now. There are some genuinely sad ****ers out there that fill the best part of their day getting "lols" out of winding people up on a website. Shame, as this used to be a decent place to get up to date info' on my Football Club. Not difficult to rectify it imo.

Hate: Pompey: Obviously Franchise FC: A disgusting club that is a cancer on our game Dislike: QPR: Guilty by association with Redknapp Reading: "Rumble sticks" - enough said Liverpool: Always the victims, it's never their fault Grudging respect for: Arsenal, swimming against a sea of petro dollars trying to do it the "right way" (FFP wise) and constantly getting in the top 4 when they have no right to considering net spend

I hope this thread is a wind up. Just the word "Bompey" makes me cringe. I like Bournemouth, nice beaches, decent nightlife and extremely fit women compared to most of the rotters in our City. It was a pleasant place both my Grans got evacuated to when we were getting bombed to pieces in WW2. Have barely got a bad word to say about the place. Pompey however is a place and a race of people I genuinely hate. That won't change. The feeling is mutual I know, about the only thing I respect them for is the knowledge that they hate us as much as we hate them and they really mean it, unlike the modern football "rivalry lite" inspired "derbies" with Brighton, Bournemouth (or Bompey if you prefer lol etc), Reading and even Plymouth FFS! Up the f*cking Saints.

No number 11... Winger/ Striker to be signed? Only other "glaring" omission is number 14.

That is minus the season tickets sold in block 2 which STILL are not showing on the online booking system (seats 16 - 44). That I assume will take the ST sales over 22000. Really cannot get my head around how/ why block 2 is completely off limits on the online site? I'm a ST holder there and havn't got a clue who around me has renewed!

The last Ford Transits have rolled of the Swaythling production line
JackanorySFC replied to TopGun's topic in The Lounge
A good mate of mine posted some pictures up of the last van to come off the production line on Wednesday. Good luck to whoever buys it as the insides are covered in the workers signatures and a Saints flag :-). I know 2 lads there, both been there 10-12 years. One staffer the other a contracter. Don't worry about the staffers, genuinely good redundo package or relocation option to Cardiff. The Agency workers however (one I know that has been there 12 years) are a different kettle of fish. Not enough jobs down the Docks for these boys to move into and other, well paying blue collar manufacturing jobs are thin on the ground in the City so they'll find it tough. -
PRE-SEASON: Schalke 04 vs Southampton - (18:00 KO)
JackanorySFC replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Schalke seem very direct, whilst hardly a "cold February night in Stoke" it's a good test for our pressing/ passing style. -

Few first impressions: Wanyama is a unit Chambers looks the business going forward Reminder of how well we play football, we get the ball forward quickly, incisively and on the deck Jay Rod looks very sharp, excellent movement Puncheon always looks like falling over his own feet but somehow keeps possession -
Just had a scan, seems a new Portsmyth has been invented. They have convinced themselves we paid 2p in the £ to our creditors? I seem to remember us paying everyone in full?

Who's the geezer with the quality Saints tatt' on his calf in that Mail report? MF?

I was in the News International Corporate box and it was 80% SFC. Only my Man U supporting colleague and the Doris he picked up in his local and took as his +1 lowered the %.

Excellent piece that. Celtic fans seem to love the guy, respect he was going to move and suggest we have both an absolute weapon of a player and an asset worth a lot more than £12m. Really happy with this signing (once confirmed).

Good points. Some differences this season though, for example all the seats in block 3 are available to buy (minus a small amount -250 odd- marked as sold) whereas last season they were blocked off for staff comp's when trying to buy online so I suspect this won't be the case this season and will definitely improve the atmosphere in the Itchen corner.
-
No, it jumps from seat 15 odd in block 1 to seat 41 in block 3 (ie the seats in block 2 are missing). Really annoying as had 2 mates joining my group of 4 this season and we couldn't search for availability online, they had to go down the ticket office and now they are sat 4 seats away when for all we know there could be seats directly in front or behind us.

****! Now you tell me....

Just spent 20 minutes of my life counting up each block. I'm prone to errors and I still do not understand why when you click on "blocks 1&2" it only shows block 1 and block 2 (where I have my ST) doesn't exist? Anyway, top line numbers are: A: Total Seats - 27179 B: Available Seats - 6814 Seats "Sold" (A minus B) - 20365 (not inc block 2) Blocks with least availability - 4 (34 seats), 5 (4 seats), 6 (17 seats), 31 (24 seats) also blocks 7, 20, 29, 30, 32, 36, 39 and 41 all have less than 100 left. Blocks with loads of availability - 3 (551 seats), 9 (385 seats), 12 (546 seats) Not sure what any of this means tbh, make of it what you will. Basically not many "good" seats left on a game by game basis, with 11 days of sales to go think there will probably only be 5k tickets available for each game. Not sure how this compares to last season.

Good thread IMO. As a proud Sotonian I'm the first to admit we have plenty of weak points. The Luftwaffe decimated our City centre and we've never recovered, it's spread out, great in some places (Oxford st), horrible in others (Leisure World). Like it or not we are a Labour voting Port City dependent on the docks, and have been for 2 century's. Our city centre housing was flattened by Hitler and the council during slum clearance and families like my Dads were moved from Chapel/ Northam to be Flower Roads and other estates. Personally I'm proud of this, we aren't a posh middle class bohemian tourist attraction, we work to make our City work. However, to a footballer on mega dough, we have über affluent areas within a stones throw of Redbridge Towers to the West, Thornhill Estate to the East and the Flower Roads to the north. As SM says you can get a seriously nice gaff in Surrey an hour from London, the same from Staplewood and the same again from Heathrow/ Gatwick. We are lucky to live where we do, seems trivial to bring it up but the weather helps, anyone unfortunate enough to do business in the NW (I've spent huge amounts of time in Manc/ Leeds/ Liv will tell you how happy they are to see the sun break through he clouds on the way home on the A34!)

Hedge End "legend" is Superman John, also know as "Scratchy" due to his trade as an engraver. Wears a (well worn) black Saints woolly hat every day, whatever the weather and calls everyone Superman. Always tells me (and anyone else he speaks to) to take my boots to the ground as I should get a game whenever I pass him in the Village. Anyway, how the f*** did he get a bike into the Milton?

Renewing my ST was dead easy. However, gone online this morning as have 2 mates that want ST's next to me and the 3 I go with regularly, we are in block 2, on the online system you for some reason click on block 1/ 2 and only get the seats in block 1? This means I can't find out if the seats next to us are available or not! Also, it looks like block 3 is available to buy ST's in this season rather than the club reserving them for comp's. Should definitely improve the atmosphere over there!

A few things from this picture.... The egotistical narcissist loon obviously "accidentally" kept the crappy trophies in shot. Not on purpose at all. Also, leaving NewsCentre? Job for the boy maybe? One thing I can confidently say (having read more than enough of his copy), is after 10 years working for national press (2 years at the Echo before that) he will be allowed no where near a national. Seriously he's a shocking scribe that I'm embarrassed to be in the same game as. The way he led the witch hunt against previous "heros" was especially shameless and unprofessional in my opinion.
