Fergie says "Southampton are best team to play here all season"

You don't deserve my time kid.... -
Exactly what we did when we were battering people in L1 and the NPC. Still freaks me out people get so stressed by that, we did exactly the same a year ago. As for the "cup final" comment one of ours made a few posts up, lol, I used to say that EVERY home game in lower leagues, fact is its the truth. Roy Keanes autobiography is amazing, one of the best quotes is something like: I play for united, the biggest club in the world, when I train I train to win, I want every header, tackle, assist and goal to be mine, traing, match, cup final, league whatever, I want it all. Sometimes we play smaller teams and their players step up a level against us, I pity them. Why step up for 2,3,4 games a season? Why get out of bed for that? They will always play for the Coventrys, Palaces and Southamptons of this world as they can only be bothered against us, but to be us you have to be bothered every minute of every day. That's my united". Truth hurts sometimes admittedly and I wouldn't level this at our current squad, but credit where it's due Man U and Fergie are a piece of work.

His name was Adkins you f***ing moron. Seriously mods, why do you allow obvious WOM's like this weapon a voice on here? Fair play we lost, but only someone that doesn't understand football (or lives a weird, sad lonely life and gets off on winding people up on the Internet) could fail to see it was a superb performance from our lads tonight. We played the champions elect off the park, unlucky not to score a second and a manager who I have a huge grudging respect for (and is the most successful in World football ever) comes out and says we were superb and deserved something from the game. Sotonjoe you are a pr**k mush, I hope you spend your life on here rather than at games as I'd hate to be in the trenches with such a pussy as you. Man up ya moaning old Doris. -
Eh? He's had 9 days since our last game? FFS, alright for us armchair fans sat at home critiquing the starting lineup but disgusting that we should write off this game (as a lot on here are) as it insults the lads that have travelled up there tonight (and those at Chelsea that saw us do the impossible and come back from 2-0 down). Up the Saints, up the lads that went and up the f***ing explanation (there best be one) behind Shaw not starting!

My first ever away game at 11 years old was at OT. Older brother was sports reporter for the Sun and got us tickets in the home end, went 1 nil up (Banger), before that the United fans around us were pretty sound, after that they started getting minstral. Luckily for us Giggs got 2 offside goals. Well I reckon they were offside ffs! Yep Giggs, fully 20 years ago, the Stretford end was being rebuild and the Clock end was still a terrace and Giggsy was banging goals in. Have to say he is a genuine great player.

I managed to blag our company box for this game. Funnily enough there weren't many Saints or Carlisle fans at my company at the time so the take up for the paint pot final was pretty slow, however one of the company's (who I dealt with) biggest clients was a big Saints fan living in London. Did a fag packet business case to get him there and ended up hosting him, his son, another sound as f*** client whose mate is a Saints fan, my brother, couple of mates, the missus' dad and his Dad on a absolutely top day! Our box next to Lawrie Mac, really nice fella that signed a couple of complimentary programme for my nephews. Brilliant day, was jealous of my mates in the Saints end as it looked a right laugh there, then I consoled myself with some more smoked salmon washed down by my 10th free beer of the day before meeting our Bet Fred girl who delivered me by winnings for 3+ goals and Lambert 1st goalscorer and having a chat with Jose Fonte who popped into our box 45 minutes after the game by mistake whereby we essentially held him hostage. Carlsberg don't do Cup Finals.....

According to an ex colleague on the Sun Sports desk they've had a reporter (some new guy called Justin something) out with Saints throughout the Barca trip. My mate isnt working tonight so doesn't know exact content/ narrative but knows its planned as a DPS so pretty big piece. Looking forward to seeing it actually, Cortese eating humble pie with his visit to Mike Dunn seems to have paid off.

SavamptonCasual reporting for duty. Yep, s4e original, started on there 13/14 years ago... jesus, I need to get a life beyond Saints FFS! Right I'm off to the pub to talk to some real people.

Brilliant video!

Aye, thank f*** he's the manager and making the decisions rather than a bed wetting, trench avoiding, conscientious objector like you eh?
-
Fair enough, I personally think he's an extremely talented footballer but not world class. I like him for England, but in tournaments (04 excluded, what a player he looked until his foot went) he has been poor, in SA he was shocking! Personally think he'd struggle to get near Germany or Spain's teams, whereas Wilshire looks like he was bought up at La Macia, to see an English kid run with the ball at the speeds he does with his head up is... Well, the closest thing to Gascoigne I've seen but more potential.
-
Harsh but fair IMO. Only English player currently world class is Wilshire (and maybe Hart), would rather we wrote off Brazil and took a group of young lads (including Shaw, Clyne and on current form Cork) and gave them tournament football experience ready for 2016. They'd do no worse than the "golden generation" FFS! Up the Saints Up the England Club & Country

Yes, a current Saints player told me that over dinner last weekend. In training he is (by a distance) our best player, the squad think he's a different class and are struggling to keep up with his footballing brain, all except "Ads", apparently Lallana can read him. However the player told me things are improving, Gaston is having full time English lessons and we have an interpreter to help him out. According to my family friend buying Gaston was a huge statement of intent which made the first team sit up and take notice, they are over the moon we signed a player of his reputation and skill. Oh, also they are impressed with how strong he is, no one can push him off the ball and he digs deep in training, a real asset. Some of the comments on this thread are moronic btw.

Sun reporting the skates have agreed a £6m deal with the administrators for the ground. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4742021/Pomp-and-ceremony.html If thisis true the trust ownership in % terms must be getting close to single digits!

Beat me to it....

LOL, right yet another person to educate. Lawro has been far more optimistic about our chances than our loony "the world is against us" fans seem to think. When we were relegated he predicted us to stay up comfortably. This season (and it's on the article you just cut and pasted ffs) is his predictions were correct we would be 12th on 22 points. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20970680 Don't let the facts get in the way though....
-
This. More often than not for away games they'll give you an adult ticket with "Child" stamped on it. Bit of nail polish remover and away you go. Job done.
-
Think it's scanners at the Bridge, if so you've got a 99% chance of getting in. If you don't you've only lost a score (if you don't upgrade at the TO) and your minutes away from some top bars/ pubs etc on the Kings/ Fulham Roads.
-
The same Southampton hating Mark Lawrenson that has regularly predicted us to win this season, in fact if his predictions had come true on January 1st (his last league predictions were December 31st) we'd have been 12th on 22 points. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20790407 It's no secret Arsenal were interested in Shaw, they would have tried to put pressure on him by feeding this info' to the press. If your on the Sports desk at the Sun and and Arsenal senior bod phones you and says "oi, remember me for this next time you want to take someone out for a decent lunch, but that Luke Shaw lad at Saints, our scouts have been watching him all season, he's mustard, and with Santos not being all that we'll be sounding Saints out to see if we can get him". What do you expect the Sun journo to do? Tell him thanks but no thanks the paper's full? EVERY transfer link story has a source, I know that for a fact, whether it be the player, his parents, a mate, his agent, the buying club trying to put pressure on (in Arsenal's case that exact strategy has worked with our players before) or the selling club trying to flush out potential bidders. With every tip off from one of these sources it is followed up by getting confirmation from another source. Not rocket science, believe me, enough of this goes on without having to make stuff up lol! Some on here need to calm down, jounos don't have it in for us, the only problem we have is they don't particularly care about us either way if anything.
-
Anyone going, feel free to give them both barrels with the "Empty seats my Lord, empty seats", "going down my Lord, going down", and "s*** support my Lord, s*** support" songs.
-
Unfortunately you're depressingly correct. Arsenal are very fortunate in their location and fanbase to have both a solid large base support, and incredibly affluant areas like Crouch End, Highbury, Islington, Barnsbury, Highgate, Tuffnell Park etc on their doorstep full of minted upper class "footie" fans that want something to do at the weekend in between trips to boutique interior stores, Mediterranean deli's and gasto pub dinners. Actually cracked me up when our fans piped up with the "live in a sh**hole" song when we played them, couldn't be further from the truth! Not sure many other clubs in the country could get away with charging their prices, and that price level does effect the atmosphere at the Emirates, it's shocking. However the United and Liverpool fans point is without away support, the "product" becomes diluted and loses one of the Premier leagues biggest selling points, decent, vocal away support that only Germany can match.
-
I read an article yesterday that said with the extra Sky money coming in next season, every club in the Premier league could afford to subsidise every ticket to every game by £36! To be fair to the Citeh fans complaining they didn't set the price for us to go up there and a lot of their fans have been pretty apologetic over it. This isn't an issue for club tribalism IMO, when you see Liverpool and Man U fans uniting behind a common cause you know it is a pretty important one. I actually feel a little (not a lot as they f***ing win pretty much everywhere they go) sorry for United's away support. They sell out in huge numbers wherever they go, yet retain a core away following of proper Mancs, but they have to pay more everywhere they go purely because they are United fans. Putting aside who they support for a minute (as I said earlier, this issue should be above tribalism) why should a football fan the same as me but from Manchester rather than Southampton that supports the team he was brought up to support, just as I have, pay 50% on average more than me to follow their team around the country? It's bang out of order in my opinion. No al Calcio Moderno

Have you not been to a single game Gaston's played yet or something? That's a mental statement, he's come straight in and looks (by a distance) our best player. I had dinner with a Saints player at the weekend (friend of the family), he was praising our scouting network across Europe, Nth Africa and the US(?). Also said Gaston is by a mile our best player, however only player that can read him is Lallana, him being out (for a period of time I'm not going to disclose but the Echo aren't far off with) is a problem. Oh, also Nigel hates twitter and has told the first team to tone it down and sent a letter to the parents of Academy kids advising them to excersise caution with it. Funnily enough he also said he rarely sees NC, Nigel is their go to person for anything at the club including contracts. Great moral at club (even after Chelsea result, although he said Mata was awesome) and confident they'll stay up. Sorry to burst that bubble in your loony mind though fella.
