He says "...if I am honest" in every interview. Fortunately most of the time it does indeed follow a very honest statement - unlike some of his predecessors.

Haven't we got to win to before we can think about Wembley tickets?

Just read the other opinions on here. I think you will find you are in the minority. You have every right to your opinion, just as I have every right to think it is utter b o l l o x. I was at the game - were you? I have seen the goal from two different perspectives.....so to say that Wotton was not standing where the (misdirected) header went and therefore was to blame is the only laughable statement on this little exchange. LMFAO :-D Nobody could possibly read where that header would go. It is not even clear if Morison or Seaborne got to it first - it just skewed off diagonally and, luckily for him, straight to Trotter. If anyone could have done better in this it would be possibly Otsemabor for letting Trotter cut inside him with so much ease.
-
You are not a fan then?

Personally I haven't seen Stock play enough to have an informed opinion of his worth, but I presume SFC have done their homework. Given our recent history, I can't help feeling it is a little crass to want the club to pay what they consider to be "over the odds" just because we can afford it. Doesn't that sort of behaviour just start to inflate the market and shaft then less well off clubs in the long run?
-
Still utter b o l l o x. They had just kicked off. The ball went back to a centre half who lumped it forward - Seaborne and Morison contested a header which flew across the face of the penalty box to Trotter. At no point did the ball go anywhere near Wotton, so how you can blame him for the goal is completely laughable - unless you expect him to be everywhere on the pitch that the ball happens to go to. You could just as easily blame any of the other half a dozen players who were nowhere the the ball at the time. I am no Wotton fan, but this is nonsense.....IMHO.
-
Which vital header was it that Wotton missed? There was only one header that I recall in the build up and that was contested by Morison and Seaborne wasn't it?
-
With the exception of the understatement I have highlighted, complete nonsense (IMHO of course).
-
Just goes to show that how opinions differ even if you are at the game. I thought we were distinctly average and lumped it up to Lambert too often. However, I don't think we were at all nervous at the back. Fonte and Seaborne looked pretty solid IMHO as did Harding. Otsemabor was less than impressive though. A lack of willingness to bomb forward when appropriate was never more evident than the moment Wotton picked it up in their half and was looking for the fullback to run past him into the acres of space down our right only to see semi rooted to the spot. Then, having been turned inside out for the goal, he was left with a less than impressive debut. If James could learn to run properly he might be OK in midfield. I wonder if Norwich would swap James for Hoolihan? :-)

Millwall roar my @rse! I could barely hear anything from them because the noise from the surrounding Saints fans just drowned it out. This is a proper roar (and you have to listen right through): ;-)

Me - sadly. Laughing my tits off at the yobbos in the stand to the left of us who were going mental before storming out of the exit. I glanced sideways and saw Trotter cut inside (Otsemabor?) and tuck it away. Didn't see any build up. Next thing all the yobbos poured back in and crushed a steward. I did LMFAO even though I was shellshocked.

Unbelievable amount of anti pardew comments on here from people who were not even at the game. Talk about fickle. Some positives: fonte looks solid and seaborne looked ok. Otsemabor could do with being more positive going forward but early days. Millwall are strong at home and have only conceded 7 or 8 goals. Might not be a bad point come the end of the season even if it was a disappointing way to get it.

Sitting on the train to London bridge where we will probably get ambushed for the second time. Didn't deserve 3 points - too much hoofball. Gutted that we were not professional enough to concentrate for the last minute though.

He knows how to spell "hear" - I think

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=564830&postcount=981 and I have never used the word "petulance" and I am not suggesting the approach is necessarily wrong. I am just suggesting that it is a possible reason for pulling the plug.
-
Why assume that a shorter contract is something that the player stipulated? Maybe it was stipulated by SFC due to his age or summat?
-
The Echo just says that the club would not comment. They don't actually speculate on the reasons - surprisingly.
-
Of course, you could also argue that if this was the case he could have pulled the plug as soon at it appeared on SSN rather than wait until the last minute......unless you want to secure the signature of an alternative before upholding your principles of course.
-
I would have thought that a forum like this is just the place to speculate on heresay - otherwise it would just be a dull regurgitation of "facts" previously reported on the OS.
-
I am very real thankyou. I know one of the Eastleigh Directors personally so unless he is telling me porkies (or exaggerating) then this is what was stipulated during the Martin transfer. It is not totally inconceivable that it could also be a reason for pulling the plug on Ward - that is all.
