That'd make Man Utd fans of the past 20 odd years pretty skint!

It would be a strange thread on a Britney Spears forum. Or a tampon forum. This is a football forum. So it's not strange. HTH.

A weekend off, where will we be at the end of it?

Least Sunderland are getting bummed to put them back on a confidence downer. And Fletcher went off injured. -

That was a good 5 minutes for us -

Agree. Redknapp has sured them up defensively and everyone at QPR will know today is just about win or bust. Personally think Reading will be bottom at Christmas and by Feb totally cut adrift. QPR will join the party late but have a go at staying up. Fulham could do us a massive favour today. -

The only people around us who grumbled about Guly and can never ever see anything he does well fell into one of two catergories: 1) Mindless knucklehead sheep who love a scapegoat figure 2) Idiot kids along for the premiership ride who have forgotten what a difference Guly has made in other divisions He did excellently when he came on. This is fact.

We don't have a choice but to put Boruc or Kelvin in IMO. Gazza started ok for us but has looked more and more out of his depth.

This forum is so s**t at the moment. Unconstructive but true.

1 point from the last 6 available is no good. Must do better. Quietly confident of a decent win here though. We are more organised defensively than even a few weeks ago IMO and there are signs of slow improvement. I would worry for us, however, if we didn't win this. I think Reading will finish bottom this campaign and we need to take the points desperately.
-
Exactly. Just the sort of pathetic non story that leads to calls to reign in the power of the scummy tabloids. We've all got mates and we all have a laugh. What an excuse for a newspaper.

Massive result for Villa. Reading lack quality, I'd bet they'll finish bottom this season.
-
Massive win for Wigan/defeat for Reading today. Reading are defensively an utter shambles. MUST beat them at home. This is a big game for us tomorrow, avoid losing and then kick on at home to Reading and Norwich.

West Brom stayed up from bottom spot when we dropped. If Redknapp, who helped relegate us, now keeps QPR up from bottom spot to send us down... Oh dear, I feel sick.

His attitude wasn't first class when we were struggling at s**t grounds grinding it out with a squad low on morale was it? In fact he was more and more interested the higher and higher we moved up the pyramid, and for this reason I will never believe his attitude to be first class. The reason it is good this season is because he is playing at the level he THINKS he deserves. In most industries his attitude would have cost him, sadly in football it ends up doing you a favour to be a self important chump. But fans don't forget.

You'd have to think that at this point in the season, if one of these guys loses on Saturday that's it. The point tally after a loss for either would strongly indicate relegation.
-
Exactly. You either scrap or play your way into the prem, invest a little, or a lot then you see what you're made of.

I fully expect Swansea to finish a full 10 or more points clear of us this season. They are a better outfit and play a style of football that worries even the top teams in the league. They realised the best they could do is get a point, and promptly took their goal and held out away from home. One team who certainly aren't a cut above us, despite heavy investment, are QPR. Next weeks match is huge, and a point isn't much good for anyone.
-
Put it this way, of the other 18 teams in the league, I think potentially 17 or 18 would have beaten Swansea on home turf yesterday. It doesn't count as a positive if the opposition is just more s**t than you've been playing recently. Swansea are good, but specifically at home. I didn't think either side was great yesterday, but we needed to beat a team who can't score away from home, especially after taking a second half lead.
-
I agree with this. My view yesterday was that it's not so much the individual errors as the fact that despite big investment, there is still a quality gap between the likes of Swansea and us. Their passing is crisp, playing in triangles etc. We seem to be stuck between keep ball and pass (which gets us nowhere but retains possession) and upping the tempo to try to catch teams off guard (which makes our championship players struggle to keep the ball but causes teams some problems). Better yesterday than it has been but Swansea at home needed desperately to be a win.

Bulls**t. Excellent player. Goes down like a sack of poo though. Sometimes dives for sure. I consider it part of the game but he's no Saint in this respect!

Would like to know when this is, must be rearranged soon. Tickets won't be cheap. Chelsea have managed to squeeze their Leeds cup quarter final in on Dec 19th leaving them with 7 games in a month so it's not going to be in December I shouldn't think.

Absolutely. What are we going to do, spend the whole season going 'it's ok to keep losing, the other teams are good'. Happy clappy s**t if you ask me. Adkins and Cortese know that too, hence a defeat to Swansea costing Nigel his job. Another 3 defeats in the next 4 games and the situation is irretrievable, and it would be a pretty lame way to bow out after such a fantastic period in our history.
