Can I ask what you have against carrying a form of ID? Here in Holland they introduced it some 20 odd years ago that we always have to be able to identify ourselves, through passport, driving license or identity card. It makes the work of the police a lot easier instead of having to spend valuable time finding out who’s who. Regarding the conspiracy theorist and other nutcases I would say fuck em. These peoples lives simply exist of making up stories why governments, institutions and wealthy people would want to harm us. Here you have a bunch who claim it would be better to live in Russia than under the tyranny that the EU is according to them. But for some funny reason they decide to remain here and don’t leave for Russia.

If you want to stop the trafficking gangs and boats it will have to come from within the UK. Living in mainland Europe I’ve traveled endless amount of time through the ports of Dunkirk and Calais. In the past the migrants would be waiting along the road to hop on to trucks. Over the last years massive fences and security cameras have been installed and that has made the migrants use the boats now. The French have been tightening security along the beaches, but the migrants and gangs move further south and it’s a cat and mouse game. The French will chase the migrants, but once they are in the water the French stop chasing them for safety reasons. And you have to question how committed the French border control is. Imagine it was the other way round and migrants were on the Kent beaches, would the border patrol risk their lives to stop people leaving the country? To stop people entering the UK illegally, the government should start to make it mandatory to have ID on you all the time, like in Europe. If people have to identify themselves it will make it harder to live under the radar. Also the huge black job market in the UK makes it appealing for illegal workers to come over. In Holland and Germany you have to through security checks to employ someone. Another part of stopping illegal migration is to make it harder for newcomers to claim certain benefits. Once people know it’s hard to receive benefits, plus the ID checks and crackdown of the black job market that should put of people risking their lives on inflatable boats crossing the Channel. Last the migrants know once they enter the UK it’s hard to be deported back to their country of origin. Somehow the government will have to find a way of making it easier and faster to deport illegal migrants. Lots of challenges ahead for the new government. Let’s hope they find a way to tackle these problems.

The Netherlands has, like the UK, lots of good things, but sadly also some things that aren’t going to well. The infrastructure is top notch, public transport is expensive but usually running and the healthcare is expensive but most treatments can be done with short waiting times. The biggest problem we have here is housing. Research shows that we have shortage of 100.000 homes. Under 300.000 euro it’s nearly impossible to find a house, with the west being more expensive than the east. We live 20 minutes from the German border and lots of Dutch people are moving over the border as Germany has cheaper homes. The problem there is that the Germans only mortgage a maximum of 70% of the house price. Meaning you have to cough up 30% yourself. I would like to move back to the Southampton region, where I am from. In an ideal world I would move to the New Forest, but the prices there are likely above my budget. Would love to move back, but the main thing stopping us is work. I have a decent income and it would be hard to get a similar amount in the UK, where I would have to start all over again and hope it works out.

Having lived abroad since the age of 4 I have never been able to vote. Not in the UK because I haven’t lived there in the past 5 years and not in Holland because I don’t have Dutch citizenship. I have watched UK politics from abroad and deciding to vote for must be a right pain. To get the UK moving forward tough decisions have to be made and I doubt the Tories, Labour or Lib Dems have the courage to do that. The NHS is shocking, the infrastructure is poor and leaving the EU was the wrong decision (for Brits abroad and businesses doing business with mainland Europe). It sounds like a rant, but I want nothing less then the UK prospering for the people living there and so I can convince my partner that moving back to the UK is best for us (she’s still in doubt).

Mate this is absolute nonsense that people don’t like Rasmus because he’s young, looks good and is Danish (I’ve been to Denmark and the people there are kind and warming). The thing with Rasmus is that he is just full of shit. He talks a lot, acts like he’s some kind of guru and reinvents everything we do. So far he and Sports Republic have failed miserably with their mission of making us better and have squandered millions. How Dragan can’t see this is beyond me. When businesses go through staff the speed we do, it often means something within the structure isn’t going well or there’s a bad vibe on the work floor. Might be best if Rasmus and his team start working on this because if you look at our location and facilities it’s must attract people to come and work here.

An example I can give, the Dutch are generally good at ice skating, almost all top class skaters come from the north of the Netherlands. Why, because they have the most ice rinks and the biggest in Holland. Not because people up north here have better genetics than people from other regions. If what you say is the case regarding our finances, why did the club gamble with Martin and his possession based style? Wouldn’t it have been a better idea that once we went down to appoint a manager with experience of getting promoted to the Premier League? And not gamble with a young relatively inexperienced manager? I hope you’re wrong and Dragan covers the costs, but wonder for how long he will continue to invest before saying enough is enough?

Here’s the answer to the statement that Rasmus is a bullshitter. The answer to other statement, look where we sit now compared to when Sports Republic took over and the amount of money spent to end up a league lower and with a worse squad and manager.

If you want to see how not to rehabilitate a player, there’s a video of 3 physios (or better sad idiots) treating Neymar after his ACL injury. Just 3 weeks after the opp they are bending him his knee to full and you can hear him scream and swear. Like said earlier, my partner is a physiotherapist and specializes in knee and hip injuries (studied in Holland and university of Brussels). She says that a full ACL recovery takes 1 year, any sooner and the person is being rushed. When you see clubs having players on the pitch 6 months after an ACL operation, they are playing Russian roulette with this persons knees (and career). Good example is Arjen Robben whilst playing at Munich. He was injured and a international tournament was coming up. The physio of the Dutch team stretched his leg endles, gave him the green light to play and after the tournament he was out for almost a year with an injury. Munich sued the Dutch team for this.

It certainly possible to be out with a hamstring injury for 5 months. If the hamstring is torn, and this isn’t the first hamstring injury for Stewart, you are talking 8-12 weeks recovery. Then it’s another 4 to 6 weeks to get up to speed and see how the hamstring feels. The club likely have decided that Stewart shouldn’t be rushed so he doesn’t have a setback in this injury. We all expect us to lose Saturday, but this is Saints and whenever I expect us to lose we win. Scrappy 2-1 win to us.

Players, managers and directors get a relatively easy ride here. Bit of booing and maybe a chant here and there. Just look at other clubs what happens there when it goes wrong. Ajax fans kept throwing flares on the pitch last Sunday and when the match was postponed in the second half they smashed their way in through the main entrance to confront the board. Marseille fans burned down their training ground when results were poor and Feyenoord fans turned up at the house of this bloke who was about to be named member of their board wearing balaclavas demanding he didn’t. (By no way would I want us to do these kind of actions).

The problem we face with sacking Martin is attracting a new manager who wants to come to us. How are you going to convince a manager to join if you have just sacked/released 4 managers in 1 year? Any manager would think wtf is going on there? Other problem is keeping Martin who till now is struggling to get us firing and doesn’t look like he’s going to. Keep him and likely miss out on promotion or even worse, get relegated. And what does Dragan think of having to pay off 3 manager whilst also having to employ a new one? If I was him I would pretty pissed of any demanding answers. We have 3 games till the next international break, lose 2 of those and Martin has to leave. Replacement? Not a clue, but wait to long and other clubs who are underachieving will snap up any decent manager available now. Tough times ahead for those in charge of us.
