I am under the impression that Spors doesn’t have free rein of who he wants to buy, but has been given a profile of players he should look for. You don’t have to be a football expert to conclude that to get promoted you look at the best players in the league for the core of the squad and maybe a few young talents to develop. Like we did in L1 and the championship under Liebherr.

On the exception of Fernandes today’s squad was made up entirely of Championship quality players.

Still has to work with the second worst Premier League team ever. You can’t repair the damage that’s been done in just a few weeks over the summer.

There you go, https://archive.ph/jZe6O

His older brother Charlie Setford is a Saints fan, don’t know about Tommy. Charlie Setford is still at Ajax but so far hasn’t played for their first team, even though their nr 1 goalie is 41 year old Remko Pasveer.

Thank you for sharing. Only listened to the last part when he spoke about his time with us. And a little spoiler, best managers were Ancelotti and Koeman, worst Pellegrino. And talks about a big bust up with Hasenhuttl.

There’s a flight arriving at Girona from Bournemouth at 13:49 CET. It departs at 11:00 GMT. Someone near Bompey airport at this moment?

Do you mind sharing that running drill Newcastle did? Or posting a link where I can find it? Cheers.

I know his cousin and father through work, his parents live 5 minutes up the road from here. That said I haven’t seen them in ages so I am not much use and can forget entering the CoT.

Pleased with Still becoming our new manager. Let’s hope Spors can give him the players he wants and we can shift some others. Looking forward to the new season.
-
Talking of Wotte, he now coaches HVV, an amateur football club in the 6th tier of Dutch football (only the top 2 are professional).
-
Mods can we have a poll who we want? With Rohl, Still, Cleverly (please not but has been mentioned quite a bit) or someone else.

It’s a shame that besides us Leicester and Ipswich have been so poor. If one of them had a decent season we could have seen Spurs or United get relegated.

For the people who say Still has no experience in the English leagues, Guardiola, Iraola, Slot, Frank, Pochettino and Koeman had no experience and did/are doing a great job. Arteta, Emery, Howe, Nuno and Silva have experience and are also doing a good job. Martin, Van Nistelrooy, Loptegui, had previous experience in Premier league as a player or manager and have failed. Conclusion, it can work out it can go horribly wrong. It’s not just the manager, it’s the whole set up at the club that has to be good for a manager to succeed. With the mess Sports Republic have made of the club I doubt even Klopp would have got a decent tune out of this (yes I believe we would have more then the 12 points we have now with him in charge, but still we would have been relegated). I like Still and think he could do a good job, just hope he can attract good players who believe he can make them better and help them move up in their career.

Would be pretty pleased with Still becoming our new manager. Has done well in France and Belgium and doesn’t stick to one system. That said he’s young and we are coming of our worst season, so would need at least 1 experienced assistant to help him.

And not to forget that absolute helmet goalkeeper of theirs Stephen Bywater.

We could have that boat the guy in Bitterne built, that never left his backyard, on our crest. Certainly one of very few boats that never left Southampton.

I would like to know why Kraft was removed/resigned whilst Ankerson is still around. What did Kraft do (or didn’t do) that he had to leave?

I have to disagree with this. I was born in England and moved to the Netherlands at a young age. My schooling was in Dutch and at home I spoke English with my parents. It’s not as easy as it sounds even being brought up bilingual (and in Still’s case trilingual, he speaks Dutch/Flemish too). The build up of sentences and some words are easily mixed. Him switching from French to English is quite impressive.

I listened to Blackmore’s show online and it was clear he was holding back. Talked about SR but definitely knew more what’s going on behind the scenes and went on last summer. Fact that he mentioned that Wilcox has more freedom at United then whilst at us was surprising.
-
His communication is clear and not cringey like Jones.
-
Has done well in France and Belgium. Don’t know how he likes to set up his teams and if it would work in the Championship.

What Zelensky should do is get in contact with china. Say to their president, phone your mate Putin and tell him to leave my country within 48 hours. Then say if they leave we can make a deal for the lithium and other elements my country has. China is digging heavily in Africa and would love to go and dig in Ukraine. Russias economy is, if I am correct, very dependent on China and would listen to their president and Trump would lose a huge deal to their main rival. War ended, deal made and Trump fucked.

He should be allowed to bring in a team of people to help him sort this rubbish out. Also bring in a ‘player sales manager’, someone who’s trying to sell our players. Bit like these annoying door to door salesmen 😉
