I can’t decide if I want us to reach the playoffs and possibly get promoted. If we go up we have to spend big money and upgrade the majority of the squad, and I have my doubts with Sports Republic if they want to do that. And in the end it’ll all be just to try and stay up. Besides the Championship is fun, more games and we win more. But on the other hand we’ll lose our best players and it’s harder watch Saints from abroad if we remain in the Championship.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

Then I would have to agree with them on that topic. The NHS was set up in the 50s if I am correct, we are 70 years later now and the country and population have changed. -
The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

Because the NHS is a shit system and costs a whopping 242 billion pounds a year. I am not talking about the amazing staff that give their all every day when I say the NHS is shit. I’ve seen it over the last few years with both my grandmothers who have had health problems over the last years (one has passed now at the grand age of 92). Getting an appointment with the GP was impossible and it would happen that the GP would call to ask if nan could be at the surgery in 10 minutes, what the fuck do they think? The former news correspondent in the UK from the Dutch state television made a series about the NHS and the waiting times, it was shocking and sad how the system works. People waiting full days to see a doctor and ambulances queuing. When visiting my grandfather in hospital in Bournemouth a few years ago before he passed I was shocked to see the state of the hospital. It was like walking back in to the 80s. And that in one of the more wealthy parts of the country. I don’t know what the best system is as alternative for the NHS, but the current system certainly isn’t. Here in the Netherlands we have a private system where you pick your own health insurance. It starts around €160 a month and if your salary is below a certain amount you can get a monthly benefit from the government. The waiting lists here are minimal and if I want an appointment with my GP I can usually come the next day. Also the hospitals are of good quality and fully digitalized. It’s by far perfect, quite expensive, but compared to the NHS it’s a lot better. Here in mainland Europe we often joke about the state of the motorways in Belgium, but I am sad to say the ones in the UK are worse nowadays. And let’s not start about the potholes everywhere. We should look in to improving the roads, build more cycle paths and think outside of the box. Look at building a bridge between the UK and France, one like the one between Denmark and Sweden, partly bridge and partly tunnel to not disrupt the shipping lanes. That would boost the economy massively, make it easier to import and export goods, grow tourism (taking the ferry with a camper van or caravan is incredibly expensive and puts people of) and make it easier for Brits to visit mainland Europe. With Trump being unreliable and Europe wanting to be more independent from the US, this is the moment to fill the gaps they leave behind! Germany are investing over 150 billion euro in to their arms and defense industry. Now we all now in the next years they will have some amazing stuff and be selling it to the rest of the western world. France have just launched their own AI app and here in the Netherlands we have the most valuable company of Europe in ASML (chips) who are expanding their business because of AI. This is the moment for the UK to get their act together and grow the economy. I know for instance that lots of servers and IT systems are provided by US companies. Lots of European countries don’t want to rely on the US so we could start investing in tech companies in the UK to fill that gap. Make the UK attractive for foreign investment and workers and attract the brains who work in Silicon Valley (lots of Indians and other Asians). Kickstart the CANZUK alliance and make it possible for workers and visitors from the those countries to come here without a visa. When Nigel says he wants the best for Britain he means he wants the best for Nigel. Because if you want the best for Britain you would stay in the EU. We need a strong European economy to compete with China and the US. Alone we cannot compete. To make these changes you need lots of money so that means increasing taxes, cutting spending in certain areas and having people in government who want to move forward and make unpopular decisions. It sounds like I am only talking negatively about the UK but it makes me sad to see the state of it. I love my country of birth and after all these years abroad still and always will identify myself as English. Would love to move back to the south coast. Saturdays at St Mary’s, Sunday walks in the New Forest with the dog and stopping at a pub for a Sunday roast. Sadly the wages and my work here make it hard to leave. Besides that I would somehow have to find work for my girlfriend and her being Dutch that would mean a process of visas and lots of paperwork. Apologies for some of my sentences and words, have been speaking Dutch and partly French all day so my grammar isn’t the greatest at the moment. -

Not a single party in the UK is going to improve the economy. Improving the economy means making difficult decisions and no one wants to do that because it will make them unpopular. Improving the UK economy and living standards would mean you have to, - Rejoin EU and admit Brexit was a failure. - Spending billions on infrastructure - abolishing the NHS And so on. -
EFL to vote on extending the Championship playoffs
Dr. Kucho replied to badgerx16's topic in The Saints
Keep it the way it is, that includes the amount of teams in the Championship. If they want to change something, give it another name. For people who like to make football leagues complicated, go and watch the Belgium Pro League. Now that’s a ridiculous set up. -
If we don’t go up I would like to see Pompey stay up. The matches against them are ones I looked forward to most this season. Would like to see Leicester go down.
-
I think Rohl has just ended Martin’s managerial career. He comes in and results change over night and they are 6 points of the top with a game in hand. Martin struggles to set up a good attack and Bonnie Blue is tighter than his defenses.
-
Because the data says it to early to sub. Though shall only listen to the almighty data.
-
Shame that West Ham have started winning, wanted to see them go down. Reckon it’s Burnley, Wolves and Leeds or Nottingham to go down. Spurs aren’t too far off and it would be absolute mega lolz if they drop down.

That was one very fine header by Larin, in his celebration you could see what it meant to him after his time at Feyenoord. My Dutch colleagues were laughing when we signed him and showed me videos how crap he was for Feyenoord. Just sent them a video of the goal and their response was, why couldn’t he do that here? Likely that the Championship suits him better than the Eredivisie. Hope he can continue like he did and all works out for him.
-
Probably are strongest line up and lots of attacking options from the bench. COYR
-
This is probably the data Rasmus uses. He’ll see Larin as an upgrade based on these stats.
-
Like Dr Who said, we don’t have a scouting network or videos of players. But the profile of the striker should be one that can hold the ball to bring Scienza, Fellows and Azaz in to play. Someone physical to bully defenders and who can head a ball. Personally I would go for a player who’s playing in England or Scotland. Bringing someone in from abroad often means they need a little time to settle and we need someone who can get going immediately.

The highlights of Betis vs Feyenoord where Larin started for Feyenoord.

Would it be possible for @TotalSaintsPod to invite Romain Molina as a guest to their weekly podcast to tell us more about his findings?
-
Hornkamp indeed signed for AZ Alkmaar earlier this month. A player worth looking at is AZ’s Irish striker Troy Parrot. Good goalscoring record and at 1 meter 86 centimeters someone with some height up front.

Pleased with yesterday’s win but Tonda, this is the big one! If like you say you bleed SFC, show it this Sunday. Very much looking forward to Sunday, hope there are streams available. To everyone going, stay safe, try not to touch anything, take hand sanitizer and have fun.

I am going to use this approach to have another look at my partner. Just find some data software where I can fill in her stats and see if we still match (she’s making lunch for me now so that’s a some positive data to add). Yours eyes lie, be aware.
-
Can I kindly ask where you got this information from? If this is the case it’s worrying. We all believe, myself included, that Rasmus is the core to our problems, but I haven’t seen much evidence of this (media, former employees or people from the business side of football).
-
Dragan has 2 options. 1: Remove whoever is the problem at the club (we all have our suspicions). Hire an experienced football director who knows the English leagues and say: find an experienced manager to rebuild the squad, remove the bellends, win games and get us promoted. 2: Let Rasmus and Spors continue. Though in regards to Spors, he’s been around at various clubs in Europe and I believe he has his hands tied here. He has found us some good players but also made some huge cock ups. Would consider giving him another chance.
-
Did you know Rasmus has his coaching badges? Well according to his Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasmus_Ankersen Imagine his team talks and press conferences.
-
Their objective is to make money, like all other football club owners (on the exception of a few who have a connection to the club they own). I think what happened is that Ankersen and Kraft approached various businessmen with their plan and Dragan decided to go for it. Someone told me the other day that Danish football club Midjiland (spelling) do everything with data. And guess who was their chairman. Likely Ankersen had a plan that using the latest data software systems they could outsmart other clubs who dont use it and make money with player trading and finishing high up in the league. It all worked at Brentford and would work again they thought. Problem was that in the premier league you need big money and they relied too much on data and didn’t use their common sense. Dragan has a few options, sell and accept a loss, continue and hope it works out or replace Ankersen and others and bring in experienced football chairman and directors. These are my thoughts and I could be wrong in how I think it went.

If the club decides to sack Tonda it will be 3 out of the so far 4 seasons that Sport Republic are in charge that we will have 3 managers in 1 season. 2022/2023 Ralph, Jones, Selles 2023/2024 Martin 2024/2025 Martin, Juric, Rusk 2025/2026 Still, Eckhert, ??? I think this says enough how the club are run. Or we are incredibly unlucky when it comes to hiring managers.
-
Would someone, who listened to the podcast/show, mind writing down in short what’s said? I’m not in the UK and can’t open the file.
-
I feel sorry for Tonda and the situation he is in. He’s been at some decent clubs and likely will make a decent manager. But he’s been promoted to soon and would have been better if he started as an assistant to an experienced manager. Now he’s run out of ideas, doesn’t have an experienced assistant besides him and doesn’t have the experience to turn it around. Best would be to move him back to the u21 squad and bring in an experienced manager and staff. Some no nonsense manager who’s been around and demands respect from some of the bellends we have in the squad. Then have a clear out this summer (like we say every year) and build a decent team.
