Quickly hand him a new 5 year contract. CL clubs will be after him at the end of the season. -

Couldn’t decide between a 8 or a 9. Went for a 9, would have been a 10 if we had signed Gakpo. Lots of news in the Dutch media regarding Gakpo, but as he’s not coming it’s irrelevant now. 9,5 million for ABK is an absolute steal. -
Spent most of the day yesterday browsing the PSV forum hoping for some news. Shame he’s not coming. From what I have been reading so far it very much seems its Gakpo himself that didn’t want to move and not PSV blocking the transfer. Reports are he wants to stay with the World Cup coming up soon (he was hoping that United were in for him and didn’t want to sign for a mid table PL club).

Been browsing on some PSV forums hoping to find some ITKs who might have some more information regarding Gakpo. Conclusion, the only and by far the most reliable source remains Rik Elferink. He has connections within the club and will break any news first. Gakpo trained with the team yesterday and as it stands will play in their home game against Volendam tonight. If PSV sign an attacking player today, we know Gakpo is leaving them. And for those who didn’t know, Marcel Brands, the former Everton technical director, is the managing director of PSV. He knows how the clubs in the PL work and how to get the best out of a deal.

Just listed to the PSV fan podcast Rik Elferink. Elferink said: Several clubs were interested in Gakpo this summer, Leeds, United, Nottingham and now us. Forest offered 25 million euro, that was denied straight away. Leeds no mention of an offer and United phoned PSV, but nothing serious. Gakpo and Erik ten Hag both have the same agent Elferink said. We offered between 35 and 40 million euro. PSV want no less then 50 million. Our offer was refused but clubs still in talks. PSV don’t want a last minute deal because they need an replacement for Gakpo. That’s all the interesting stuff that was said. My next update will be tomorrow as I have used my 3 posts.

All day it was quiet in the Dutch media regarding our interest in Gakpo. Then this evening suddenly all the major Dutch football websites, the NOS (Dutch BBC) and the biggest Dutch news website Nu.nl are all reporting we are in talks with PSV. Rik Elfrink just posted that he did a podcast with some PSV fans. He said that Gakpo has already said his goodbyes. The podcast will be online tomorrow morning, I’ll try and listen to it and hope to get some more information.

I was surprised to see the name of Gakpo mentioned. I read one of the Dutch football websites daily (voetbalzone) and even in the gossip topics we haven’t been mentioned as a possible destination for Gakpo. After last Sundays match against Excelsior Gakpo was asked about a possible transfer. He said some interesting days are coming up and that clubs were interested but it had to fit his ambitions. The price PSV want for Gakpo is around the 50 million euro mark according to some in the Dutch media. I’ll keep an eye out in the Dutch media and report to SWF asap..

When will the first reports come that Liverpool, Chelsea, City etc are interested in ABK? -
He rejected us before he signed for PSV. Then, and this summer again, he thought we weren’t the right club for him. Everton also tried to sign him this summer and he turned them down too. He just signed a new contract with PSV and hopes that one of the big clubs come round next summer (when he can leave for €37,5 million euro according to Dutch media).
-
According to former Ajax footballer Kiki Musampa, we tried to sign Ibrahim Sangere from PSV Eindhoven. We tried to sign him in the past and this summer he declined us again.
-
Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig could be a player worth signing. Can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder. Used to be a starter for RB Leipzig but now mainly used as a sub.
-
Higginbottam’s overhead kick vs the Skates would have been a great goal if it wasn’t ruled out for offside.
-
Likely to be in the same price range as Aribo, no major gamble if it doesn’t work out.
-
I haven’t seen him play, don’t watch the Eredivisie (Brit abroad). A quick look on a Dutch football website and most Feyenoord fans do rate him. They say he has pace and can play a decent ball in to the box. Not the greatest on the ball they say.

Dutch media reporting that Saints have put in a bid for Feyenoord right back Marcus Pederson. The source is a Feyenoord related website with contacts within the club.

https://m.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20220706_92168856?utm_source=google Belgium media reporting that Leeds have offered €30 million, but De Ketelaere wants to move to a top club. AC Milan also interested and have offered €20 million..

The website 1908 is a reliable one. They clearly know certain people within the Feyenoord organization. Good player according to the Feyenoord fans, only left out because he has Geertruida ahead of him.

Aren’t we signing the bloke who does the scouting for City’s academy?
-
Or maybe signed just for a profit. Free transfer, send him away on loan and hope he impresses. Then sell for 2/3 million.

Now working as a postman in Eindhoven and coaching Sunday league football clubs. Said in a recent interview his time with us was the most disappointing time in his career.

Anthony Pulis and Tommy Forecast ‘playing’ in a pre season friendly. I wasn’t there, but remember other members on here questioning if they were actually footballers.

In Garth Crooks team of the week. Garth writes: Ward-Prowse: When you're 2-0 down away from home at half-time you had better have someone special in your team capable of turning the deficit around otherwise the game might as well be over. Fortunately, Southampton have James Ward-Prowse, who seems to have the ability to dig the Saints out of almost any hole. His two goals against Brighton were timely as they were beautifully struck. Southampton will do well to hold on to this player. He's got so much more to offer and would make the perfect replacement for Jordan Henderson at Liverpool.

One of the very few times I hope Liverpool win. Everton going down would be hilarious.
