Yep I do agree, we have spent a lot. And looks as if there is more to come if you believe that Danns and Stock are on their way... It is a lot of money. I am just resting on the fact that Liebherr has said he is in it for the long haul, and if he is ok with his money being used in these transfers then it's fine by me.

Pardew should probably get a little bit
-
Cortese is a businessman, put in charge of running the club by Liebherr. Was Cortese not a banker or something before becoming chairman? Of course, I don't know that stuff for a fact, I am assuming. I think it is safe to assume what I put though, Liebherr isn't going to just let Cortese use his money for whatever he wants is he? Hence the 'knows his limits' bit. As for the scrutinise bit, we know that they want to implement the 5 year plan and pace themselves with the spending, Cortese will no doubt know finance inside out. I know what I mean, I just can't word it very well.
-
What I meant was, Cortese obviously knows what he is doing. If he can splash the cash, AND remain in the green financially with Liebherr's backing, then why not spend? As long as he can balance the outcome with income then it's no problem. It's not as if we're just dipping our hands into some filthy rich Arab, Cortese knows his limits, fund wise, from Liebherr, and he'd no doubt scrutinise the impact of every transfer that is undertaken. In that sense, if we can carry on with healthy finances after spending millions on players, then let it be.

That's my brother you're playing with now Barfy. I'll be on later.

Yeah this one has my vote.

Just in on Neil Danns' twitter: "Gutted the games off oh well, what to do today" Well Neil, you could sign for Southampton I guess?
-
I'll do it. If I can do it on FM08 then I can do it in real life.
-
Yeah, inclined to agree with the whole Man City of League One analogy. As long as it's sustainable then we should keep it up.

I will be on at 2000 hours GMT.

No Elvis, Beatles or the Rolling Stones, in 1977 My Mum was only like 12 when he died, she was massive fan of his.
-
hamster, that is nearly unbeatable. But I'll give it a go. NEVER SURRENDER

They say everyone remembers where they were when Elvis died. Where were you lot?

That post propelled you to glory (hole). If that is the one you're talking about, anyway.

Reasons to watch the African Cup of Nations
RedAndWhite91 replied to fish fingers's topic in General Sports
Is this true, or just a sweeping generalisation of the African continent? -
I started playing cricket for the men's team at quite a young age, and one of the proper 'Aaampshire hogs, who was Tichborne born and bred, always called us young'uns 'nipper' or 'nip' in his strong Hampshire accent.

So, things we learnt from this thread: - Peacey is ITK - Transfers CAN be announced on a Saturday - Players linked with Saints sometimes do actually complete a move! - Jose Fonte is a good player

Newcastle United can f*ck off and so can the Mirror.

Top signing and a great piece of business. Keep it up Pards, Cortese, and everyone concerned. Being a Saints fan at the moment makes me all warm inside.

This one is amazing. A face has formed in the pork luncheon meat. Sod your snow and cheese graters. Sod your Jesus toastie. Get ready for THIS.
