Laws such as the banning of all other political parties. After this there was no stopping him. Until the latter part of the War, of course. All this is going much faster than we had dared to hope." - Had Hitler not been made Chancellor, then this would not have been possible.

The reason the Nazis came to power is because Hitler was made Chancellor in 1933 because two high up government officials were arch enemies and they thought they could manipulate Hitler. He wasn't easily manipulated though, and this gave him the platform he needed to push on, get a Nazi majority, pass the Enabling Act etc which essentially got him the dictatorship and the Nazis in power. I somewhat doubt Nick Griffin will be given the role of Deputy PM anytime soon.
