  1. Os Celestes 100% means The Sky Blues. The Celestials would be an incorrect (too literal) translation.
  2. Maybe we can offer to pay the transfer fee in a defunct currency too?
  3. I live in Buenos Aires. There is no good place for watching Saints games here. You'd think so with Pochettino in charge, but no one here really gives a ****. Your best bet is the Gibraltar pub in San Telmo. They always have Premier league games on, and announce in advance which ones. But not often Saints. There is also Sugar Bar in Palermo Soho, who accept requests for different game streams to be shown on their projector. But the picture quality is bad, and they are unreliable. Plus there is usually a higher priority request than Saints. Failing all that, you can give me a shout when your here and watch a Saints game stream on my laptop in my office in Palermo, with beers. In terms of seeing local football here, it's difficult at the actual prices the public are supposed to pay, because the Argentine Football Association recently brought in a rule that you have to be a club member to buy tickets. And membership is only for Argentine residents. So you have to go through a tourist agency, who get their tickets through "other channels". If you want a recommendation closer to the time, let me know and I'll look into it. The cost will be expensive by local standards, but probably cheap when you think about it in pounds. And if you get the chance to see a big game at the Bombonera (Boca Juniors), take it, will be worth the cost. If it is Boca vs River, even more so. Insane atmosphere. Also, general travel tip for Argentina, BRING US DOLLARS CASH. Definitely not Argentine Pesos. You'll understand why when you get here (and save A LOT of money). You won't save money by paying for things by credit/debit cards, or other currencies. Only US Dollars. Happy travels!
  4. I watch Argieball, it's not high quality but the only live football I can get. Still prefer watching Saints on a dodgy stream to Boca vs River at the Bombonera.
  5. Thought I might dredge this old thread up again. Looks like someone in the Italian press thinks Astori won't be in the Cagliari first 11 this season: http://24.media.tumblr.com/8e482bb8e6fb5e8832046e73ef2b1973/tumblr_mqp1sblqeG1r90nv2o1_1280.jpg (from Gazetta) Is he off somewhere? Would love to see an Astori - Lovren partnership with Yoshida as back-up. (As an aside, they have Osvaldo listed in the expected Roma first 11)
  6. He grew up in Argentina (in Buenos Aires it seems). Almost every local here I know would LOVE to live in London, and I doubt many would see it as a downgrade on Rome. The only thing is if Osvaldo really does feel Italian... his great grandfather was the closest Italian relative he had. And yet he chose to play for Italy, which does make it seem like he loves the place. But yeah, people from Buenos Aires on the whole love London.
  7. Indeed, I missed kick off by almost an hour. Bugger.
  8. Although the word pasas can be the noun "raisins", in this case it is a conjugation of the verb "pasar", and is being used in the sense "you become one of them" (Pasas a ser uno de ellos)... as in, you become a Valencian. He is saying he feels he is now one of them. Pero va a pasar a ser uno de nosotros, un santo, te lo digo ;-)
  9. Don't forget Forest's striped kit from 1992-94 too!
  10. Divide 62 minutes by the 22 players on the pitch, and you get less than 3 minutes per player. So 4 minutes on or around the ball is above average!
  11. I read past that without it even registering, pretty much par for the course here.
  12. Pochettino and Banega will be happy today: http://hastaelgolsiempre.com/2013/06/19/torneo-final-2013-newells-campeon/ Maybe they'll celebrate by finalising Banega's move to Saints? (Interesting side note... In addition to having "NOB" on their crest, the accepted nickname of Newell's Old Boys is "The Lepers". Lovely club!)
  13. Hope you're right! :-)
  14. How about this for bed wetting... maybe we're after Wanyama AND Banega because Morgan is off to a big club? Would soften the blow... Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  15. Very nice offer, Justin. If the tickets are still available, I'd love to take them off your hands. I can't seem to PM you, so here is my email: *deleted, thanks!* (let me know here or by email when you've got that, so I can edit this and delete my email address from the forum, cheers!)
  16. Why didn't Adkins wait? Surely he can't think Reading are a better bet than Leeds? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Morgan and Shaw. Perhaps Morgan could even have a chance for PFA Young Player of the Year. Isn't that for players up to the age of 23? Or am I getting carried away here? Who could other candidates be?
  18. Isn't it possible to be impressed by a player through listening to the game on the radio and then watching extended highlights? Sometimes they even showed the whole 90 on Saintsplayer.
  19. Great performance from all, but Cork was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. If he keeps this up, surely he'll play for England soon. Hopefully at the world cup in Brazil.
  20. Jack Cork, take a bow. You've just owned Yaya Toure.
  21. We're on another level to Everton so far. Has a jammy 0-1 away win written all over it.
  22. Howard is on form tonight!
