  1. edit - ignore, double post
  2. That's what I was thinking... did the medical just in case another target fell through (may have been Rojo or Vlaar or Van Dijk?), and it fell through, so he's coming. Would be interesting to hear if that was true, and if so which target we're missing out on.
  3. Ah, must have changed his Twitter handle fairly recently then. I could still access it through the Koeman1963 one quite recently. Proof just to prove I'm not going mad: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2659389/Ronald-Koeman-gets-massive-Twitter-boost-taking-Southampton-manager.html
  4. Am I missing something or has Ronald Koeman deleted his Twitter account? https://twitter.com/Koeman1963 Probably for the best if true. Although what a waste of time accruing all those followers!
  5. Laugh you may, but I don't think you're the best judge of how thick you are.
  6. I'm just going to repeat the word patience. Any judgement or loss of faith right now is extremely premature. 5 games in with poor results and a thin looking squad after the window has closed, I could understand. But how can anyone accurately judge them yet?
  7. If people have lost faith with the board already, then there was a serious lack of faith (/patience) in the first place.
  8. Edit ... ignore this
  9. I also agree, seems like a good squad player to me.
  10. First thing I thought when I saw the photo was "looks like he (Shaw) was out on the lash last night!".
  11. That's an argument, but at the very least he has to do something out of respect for the people who pay his very large wages. Either delete the tweet, or post again saying that he over-reacted as his emotions briefly got the better of him. You can't go around destabilising the organization you work for with such a public negative statement, and then expect to do nothing about it. Unless of course, you still have zero intention of remaining with that company much longer...
  12. Ben Smith seems to be a bit of a **** to be honest. Although not as much as the parents of the 15 year old in the academy... if that is true, they are prize idiots.
  13. Yep, and you'd think that if Koeman told Schneiderlin that these sorts of things should be kept inside, that if Morgan had any intention of building bridges, he would have deleted the tweet by now. It would be the professional, respectful thing to do. Unless of course Morgan isn't very tech savvy and can't work out how to delete it?
  14. He likes a big fat transfer fee Les Reed, Les Reed He'll take us back down through the leagues Les Reed, Les Reed He would have sold our Matt Le Tiss The ****ing ****, he takes the **** Leslie Reed, Southampton's **** machine
  15. This thread (more specifically Steve Grant's comments) has been getting some attention on the soccer message board over at Reddit...
  16. Absolutely ridiculous. Everyone knows that Le Tiss doesn't drink pints!
  17. Maybe he did it on the sly, in direct contact with the players & in confidence, with the board none the wiser?
  18. Isn't it the case that you can only loan one player from a club at a time though? Gnabry would be a hell of a lot more useful than Jenkinson (assuming we hold onto Clyne)
  19. To be fair, Shaw can occasionally look a little on the porky side (although that could be more muscle than fat), and sometimes he ambles back slowly after his bursting runs forward (maybe that is more due to laziness than fitness though).
  20. You know things are bad when even our star signings are looking to this board to try to find out what is going on at the club! ;-)
  21. Indeed, although the news only states that a fee has been agreed... open to gazumping you'd think. Come on Saints, get in there! http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/de-vrij-verlaat-feyenoord-voor-avontuur-bij-lazio.htm
  22. Still, a small amount of money compared to the long-term benefit such a strong decision could have done for the club. They were probably just looking after the bottom-line in a short-termist way, which appears to be the current way of doing things at Saints.
  23. Do you know something about Shaw's wages no one else does? It's been quoted as 100k p/w or more in most news outlets.
  24. Given that MP jumping ship was the pulling of the plug and cause of panic, the following interesting (but entirely pointless now) thought occurred to me... What if the board had, when he was stalling on a new contract (and many reasonable people could see he was most likely to leave), sacked Pochettino and had another good manager already lined up to take over (a la Adkins to Pochettino). They could have said the sacking was for lack of commitment to the team. That would have put the board in complete control, given the new manager more weight behind him because he could in no way be viewed as a 2nd choice to Pochettino, and therefore given us far more chance to hang on to our star players - who might have been surprised by the decision, but could certainly not say that the board lacked balls or vision. Just a thought.
