I thought Davis played well against Burnley. Although we wasn't great recently in games before that.

Koeman to Barca, Pelle follows him there ;-)

Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?
syd_barrett_saint replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Indeed. 77 divided by 42 is 1.83 (to 2 decimal places). Multiply that by the 38 games this season, and you get 69.54 (to 2 decimal places). So if we get 70 points this season (17 more points, which would be 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, which sounds difficult but reasonably do-able) then does that mean we will have had our best top flight season ever in terms of points? -
Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?

Good point. As long as one of our 6 wins is against Spurs I think that we'll be OK with them (they will almost certainly lose one more game). And I can see Liverpool losing at Arsenal and Chelsea, and drawing or losing at West Brom or Stoke. But to be honest, us winning 6 out of 8 seems like a bit of a stretch in the first place. Perhaps we could win 5 and draw 3. But even that would be a fantastic achievement. -

If we win 6 and lose 2 of our last 8 games, I think we can still get 4th place. I can definitely see 4 possible losses for Man Utd, and that would probably see us go ahead of them in the goal difference stakes, unless there are some surprising heavy defeats for us or big victories for Man Utd. There is the possibility that Man Utd could lose 4 out of these 5: home to Man City, away to Chelsea, away to Everton, away to Crystal Palace, and home to Arsenal. Of course, if that happens, we would still need to win 6 of the 8, which is a huge ask. -
I'm not his biggest fan these days, but that's a bit harsh after today's performance! ;-)

5. He'll send Irene to tell us to **** off.

As well as Super Kelv did, can we recall Boruc? Would he want to play for us anyway after the supposed troubles when we bought Forster? Would have the added sweetener of ****ing the Cherries off in their promotion run-in (although I would still like to see them go up)
-
Same line-up as against Chelsea please! The only possible change would be Pelle in for Long (but I think that would be unfair on Long), or maybe Pelle in for Tadic if we want to go more attacking/direct. Perhaps Davis could drop out for Djuricic or Elia if fit, but I'd like to see Davis get a run in the side again.

I thought Hesketh looked promising before he got kicked off the pitch up at Burnley (disgusting revenge challenge for Hesketh going in a bit late on their keeper earlier in that game). Personally I'd love to see him given a chance before JWP, who, despite his assist record, doesn't offer enough in general play, and has gone downhill with his set pieces.

Post-Match Reaction: Chelsea 1-1 SAINTS

Except that Chelsea beat Burnley in the first weekend of the season. -
Post-Match Reaction: Chelsea 1-1 SAINTS

Exactly, man of the match for me, just ahead of Morgan. The only way Chelsea could stop him was with persistent cynical fouls. One of which should have seen Matic sent off for a 2nd yellow. -

Where is that quotation from? -
Davis, Ward-Prowse and Elia?

****ing Spurs. What a ****, lucky team.

Lighten up. Part of of the fun of football is giving dogs abuse to ****tish opposition players etc. Even more so when they are rat faced traitors. Close this thread and give Lallana a good reception? Next you'll be saying we should shake the hand of Harry Redknapp if we happen to bump into him, and thank him for a job well done at Saints.
-
Lallana makes two bookable offences for diving and so is sent off, and on the long walk off the pitch, Saints fans starting to unanimously applaud him until Lallana starts to applaud them back. At that point, everyone stops clapping, and lets rip with all the vile abuse they can muster. Lallana walks off crying. That'd do.

It's still Gaston's assist, he was last to touch the ball and he did change the flight of the ball, not much, but he did. Shaw "assisted the assister", to use some fantasy football speak.

West Ham's Adrian has Red Card Over-Turned
syd_barrett_saint replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
I'm interested as to why no one seems to have noticed that Adrian kicked right through Mane's leg before the "foul" by Mane and then handball. It was inside the area too and should have been a penalty. -
The ref was an absolute disgrace last night.
-
Agreed about Bertrand. But we should have Schneiderlin and Alderweireld back for Liverpool, and perhaps Targett too who will provide more balance on the left, as well as Yoshida has done. I wouldn't be surprised if we also start Djuricic in the hole behind Pelle too, in place of Davis. With that team, we'll beat Liverpool, and we'll be more than in the hunt for top 4. Frustrating night but nothing to worry about yet.
-
This. I was absolutely livid with the ref. West Ham wasted at least a minute of time in the 5 minutes added on alone! And blew up the moment 5 minutes were reached.

Everywhere I look, it's Redslo:

On the button! And 6 from Graziano. http://m.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/article.090215-matchweek-25-pre-match-stats.html Imagine if just half of those had gone in... although it would have needed to have been in matches where it made a difference to the scoreline. But perhaps we could be in 2nd above City!
