It actually wouldn't surprise me if Koeman went with JWP over Cork and Taider. Or even instead of Davis. I wouldn't agree with it, mind.

I imagine he'll have at least one session before the game. And it shouldn't be as hard for a striker with a lot of Prem experience to come straight in, unlike a CB who had never played in England before.

For me it's a close call between the two. I'd also have Boruc in to give him a fair chance of keeping the spot he earned. But that is the team I think Koeman will go with.

I've been chatting with my many Irish cousins (unfortunately Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool fans) on Facebook and they all think that Long is a good player and will do well for us. I think the only downside to the transfer is the inflated fee, but does it really matter to us as fans anyway?

I think that Irene... sorry, I mean Artur Boruc has been magnificent for Saints since he got past the early troubles and cemented his place in the team. For Koeman to bring a new keeper in and just drop Boruc like that is the first mistake he's made so far, in my opinion. It sends out the wrong message. Boruc has made the place his, he should be challenged to keep it, and Forster challenged to try to win it off him. Anything else is unfair and this type of attitude from the management team could cause the beginnings of unrest around the squad. That said, the idea that footballers are treated horrendously with their million pound paychecks used as an excuse for that is ridiculous. Anybody who thinks that idea holds weight is either a footballer or someone close to one, and totally lacking in perspective.

Well, he's a better option than Mayuka. Just. And that's not saying much. Bloody hell.

Oh, and you did perhaps forget Ward-Prowse, and possibly Targett. I'd have JWP on the bench instead of McQueen.

This is the team. Would LOVE to see Rojo there instead of Yoshida, but unfortunately it's not going to happen, and we'll let in at least a couple as a result. Maybe, just maybe, Gaston, Tadic and Pelle will click and we'll score enough for a draw. Doubt it though. Perhaps Isgrove could come on for half an hour as that would be the time to try to use his pace. He's not a great player overall.

A lot of people saying we lacked something up front. For me, it was exactly the same at the end of last season when J Rod was out. I think he's the most important player to replace going forward. No idea who that could be though.
