Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-1 Swansea
syd_barrett_saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
As others have mentioned, as soon as Ward-Prowse missed that sitter - and let's face it, it was a sitter and he should have given the keeper no chance - I had a feeling we'd lose this one against the run of play. Until Ward-Prowse gains some composure in front of goal, we should be looking for someone who carries more of a goal threat as the most advanced of the midfield 3. I'd like to see Mane there, getting closer to Pelle, and then when we have our defensive midfielders back Davis should replace the woeful Tadic on the right. I'd love to find a way to get Ward-Prowse into the team as we are useless at set-piece delivery without him, but with our first choice midfielders back I just can't see a regular place for him yet. -
I think that it's a borderline yellow/red, and actually don't think there was intent from Bertrand as it looked like he only had eyes for the ball, but it wasn't controlled and he was a tad unlucky that his foot only caught the top of the ball and bounced further up into Barrow's leg. There is no way in hell a challenge like that deserves a 3 match ban, but I can't see it being rescinded as Oliver is one of the young referee golden boys and he'll be protected after the recent Costa incident. Shame, but a good chance for Targett to show what he can do. What really annoys me is that, looking at the replay many times over, all I can see is Barrow getting a tap across his shin pad, granted it was at pace, but I highly doubt he was hurt. I'm guessing the stretcher etc was just a ruse to wind time down as much as possible to see out the game.

Canada is in the Canadian part of America. If you ask many millions of citizens in America, there is only one continent called America, none of this North & South rubbish.

Canadians are from America.

Reply to myself to add that, if it wasn't for the magic of MLT (I was lucky enough to watch almost all of his career live, well the home games anyway, and a few aways) then I probably wouldn't have become a Saints fan, or a football fan at all. I don't really like watching football unless it's Saints. But MLT won me over, and well, Saints is a drug that you just can't kick once hooked.

I'm from Bournemouth, and my Dad is a Brentford fan. But when he moved to Bournemouth before I was born, he fancied some top flight football, and started to go to Saints games. And then started bringing me along from the age of 6. A lucky escape, as otherwise I could have been a Bournemouth or Brentford fan :-/

That's the spirit!

I'd love to see us get top 4, but to be honest, if we can finish above Spurs and Liverpool, then I'll be very happy. That would mean 5th behind Man Utd and Arsenal I guess. That said, I can see Sanchez firing Arsenal up to 3rd. I think the performances of Spurs and United, which are really hard to predict, will have a big say in our chances for 4th. Both have been picking up lots of points playing badly. If luck starts to turn against them a little, as you could argue it did in their games this weekend, then who knows!

Going down the path to doing exactly what Bearsy wants sounds like a dangerous pursuit to me.
-
I can't see past Toby Alderweireld. He just oozes class, best defender I've seen for Saints in my lifetime of watching Saints (started in the early 90s), even ahead of Killer for me.

Didn't they say that about Shearer when he started out at Saints?

I think there's a good player in the there somewhere, but he does upset the team balance and doesn't seem to have much positional sense, intent to track back, or a good idea of how to close down to tackle. He's a red card waiting to happen. But maybe these things can be improved through coaching, experience and a gain in confidence, because I think the raw talent and eye for goal is there. That said, he has a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp most of the time, which I think is one of the reasons a lot of people really are not taking to him.

What a load of big hairy balls. I woke up at 4.30am here to watch that. I now I have to work the rest of the day in a miserable mood. I was confident about our team until the Burnley game and this one. We seem low on confidence now, will be hard to turn it around soon. -
3-0 Saint, Mane hattrick.

Cheer up, if you're lucky Nigel might run over you in his bus.

When you consider he's actually played 12.5 games, Morgan would have beaten Fabregas to 100 miles had he not gotten injured: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-2862210/Cesc-Fabregas-covered-ground-Premier-League-season-Chelsea-ace-player-surpass-100-mile-mark.html

Yep, best streams out there by a distance :-) if you're lucky enough to still have a working account.

I was a big fan of the first couple of EPs that Morgan's Long Fingers released, but they really sold out on their full length major label debut, don't you think?

I lived in Brazil for half a year. Sadly, this is definitely not a spoof. -
No idea, but worth a try I'd say. None of the other options mentioned on here come close to PLP. I hope that somehow I keep avoiding that sneaky user email, sorry to hear you got hit with it.
