I agree, but we still need at least one landmark signing as more for psychological reasons as any. A signing that announces we are Southampton and we mean business. Lawrie knew how much this could boost the club.

I had a mate who got pulled for drink driving. He stood in front of a train. Tragic waste of a life for something that wasn't the end of the world he thought it was at the time.

I don't think working under Cortese would be appealing to a top manager. I'm not saying one wouldn't be tempted but I think it'd soon turn sour. No disrespect to NA but he does strike me as a bit of a yes man.

Had a text from a Forest mate last week saying they were getting Hoddle. In the end they got their "big name manager" - Sean O'Driscoll.

Man City Away Tickets-When Are They On Sale For Season Ticket Holders...!?!

Just a thought but could the pricing be revenge for the cheap tickets they were forced to sell us? -
Do you think Cortese is going to be a patient supportive chairman? I don't. I can see Adkins being sacked by Christmas tbh and if and when this happens we'll be in big trouble as I feel we'll struggle to attract a suitable replacement. Cortese is imo Lowe with knobs on.

*destroyers of dreams* is the term used I think.

And the worst part is that we are likely to be bottom of the league after 4 games.

The signings and reported intent so far do not suggest we are a club that is realistically looking to challenge at the top. The squad we are building is more 14th to 20th under the stewardship of an untested manager. It's gonna be a another relegation battle I reckon. *sorry if that offends the dispositions of some on here.

Could be a good initial impact signing, however I wonder whether he'll be another player with the same attitude as Berkovic and will lose interest after a season. -
No self respecting man should tolerate his bird drinking pints. It's the height of vulgarity, uncouthness and general fish wifery.

Nah, I expect whoever did it was working for the minimum wage and thought it'd be a laugh.

What is vanilla (i assume you are not talking about the flavour of icecream)?

I've actually done that. I'm not tight by any means, but hate being ripped off. -
I think the fact that remote communities have less access to large chain stores is conducive with a happier existence. Everyone is far too materialistic nowadays and that often leads to debt and debt leads to misery. Life is certainly more about life in rural areas.

No it's not. In fact i'm all for hypocritical religions being forced to conduct gay marriage. Half the RC priests are gay or kiddy fidlders, and those that aren't cover up for those that are, so they have no moral standing to preach on this or any other subject. If it was down to me i'd make it illegal for them to refuse to marry gay couples and would find it funny as f/ck seeing them squeel about it.

All of Scotland north of the central belt is picturesque to drive through, but I wouldn't want to live there. You'd soon get bored of the barren nothingness.

Well I agree with a lot of what he wrote and disagree with some of it, but it all made me laugh. Good work by GM - this forum needs more interesting posters like him rather than the usual tedius drivel.

Seriously though, as someone else mentioned would you really expect pompey to call themselves the skate army? Not that I approve of this term anyway. They have always been the scum.

If this is true it's truely cringeworthy right up there with 40 year olds dressed as clowns.

What's the point of spending 100 quid + on the trip when it's on TV?

Surely the prospect of champions league football will take us to new heights.
