Perhaps you're currently unable to get private health care, but if health care was made like using electricity everyone would have access to it. The fact remains that if health care was privatised it'd create competition (you'd have a regulator to ensure this) and efficiency and the public would get a better deal than throwing cash at the public sector NHS with it's made up multi tiered jobs and staff who've never been taken out of their plod along comfort zone.

For getting that extra bit of wax out of your ear.

    Nipples

Following on from Dogs thread why do men have nipples?
  6. Dream on. They sh*t everywhere, leave their needles scattered everywhere, tie rope and hammer planks of wood to trees, chuck used nappies in bushes etc etc. I've seen a site where these peace man warriors have been evicted from and it was disgusting.

What's that got to do with the price of fish? I'm saying that paying into a competitive private heathcare market to receive medical care would be cheaper than paying tax to the government to fund a inefficient public sector dinosaur of a health service like we have.
  8. It's the matted long hair swampy types i don't like.
  9. That's clearly wrong. We have gyspy encampment on the edge of my village and a lot of villagers were in uproar when they first "arrived". They purchased the paddock but didn't get planning consent which is wrong, but you have to remember that the proper gypsys have always moved around like this - it's their culture and they are as indiginous to this Isle as me and you, so I kind of support them. Assylum seekers come here and get a free council house, benefits - you name it, so it's pretty **** how people who have a history in this country can't live as they always have done. The gypsies have been on the edge of the village for about 2 years now - their kids go to the village school, and they are "good" gypsies. I emphasise the word "good" because you do get bad gypsies that will turn up and squat and who will steal. A few weeks back the matriach of the gypsies in my village tipped a local farmer off that some bad gypsies were planning to arrive on the bank holiday weekend (notice how they often arrive when the rozzers are on leave....) and this enabled brricades to be erected and the police to launch an operation. So you see they're not all bad - proper gypsies are alright. Unfortunately you seem to have aquired the ones we missed out on.

I have private health insurance and it really isn't that expensive. I would wager that most people would be better off with a private health care system and not paying taxes to fund the wasteful NHS.
  11. Personally I don't have a problem with real gypsy's because they are a part of the fabric of Britain and always have been. I can't stand the eco traveller types though as we've had them in my area and they cost the council thousands to clean up the mess they left.
  12. The biggest difference, as someone has already touched on, is that our scouting is now much more widespread within the UK, as oposed to focussing on Sweden. When NC took over he commented on how bad things had become in this respect, so hats off to him for sorting this out.
  13. I get you, thought you meant the Lizzard Lounge became the greenhouse. That's right the Lizard Lounge was opposite. I remember the Academy - bit too comercial for my liking and the bouncers were ****s. I wasn't even ****ing up his car when one of them knocked me out cold.

To be honest Nexstar it's difficult to make suggestions without knowing what you want to get out of the trip.
  15. My memory is shot to ****, I remember the name of the Lizard Lounge, but thought it was another bar - no doubting you're right though, so what was the other bar called with windows all round that is near it?

    Travelling

It would take between 50 and 60 days to leisurely walk from the Atlantic to the Med so it's not an option if you're contracted in full time employment. Would be a great trip though and maybe not as crowded as the now over trodden paths in Peru.

    Travelling

I once saw a television programme where a man walked the length of the pyrenees with a rucksack, small tent, provisions and an umbrella. I'd like to do that.

One only has to look at the wasteful way New Labour ran the NHS to see that it is in need of a massive overhaul. In the private sector you either turn up for work, or you are taken through set procedures. In the public sector it would seem you are given incentives to turn up for work. I have great respect for public sector workers and the brilliant job they do, but to offer spa breaks, casino gambling lessons and coctail making master classes for simply doing what they're paid to do is ridiculous. The money spent of these "jollys" should be spent on making sick people better - isn't that the job of the NHS? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1295536/Turn-work-win-spa-break-nurses-told.html

Until someone posts a link to the story in the Daily Express or the Daily Mail this left wing spin isn't worth debating.
  20. Did that used to be the Green House, I used to drink there regularly.
  21. The latest speculation is that BP will restructure and sell off its filling stations.
  22. And which government racked up the deficit that has put us in this mess? All the woes this country finds itself in lead back to Labour.
