Why would it be strange for Shaw to be in the squad? On the basis that he is match fit and Hodgson considers him one of the two best English left backs, then he should obviously be picked.

Exactly right. The only party that has a clear policy that could actually make a difference to the lives of many working people in this country.

Exactly. If you look at the bigger picture, we want it to become the norm that being a Saints player and getting international recognition go hand in hand, great place for up and coming young players etc. It affects how the club is perceived.

Each to their own, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was taken to heart a bit, especially for someone that ha previously lived all their lives completely out of the spotlight. He gets stuck in plenty, as much as most centre forwards do anyway. It wasn't particularly clear in your original post what he should be doing to be honest.

Exactly. His game isn't perfect, but he comes across as likeable and hard working lad, well integrated member of the team, and has cracked in a fair few goals for us - I genuinely can't see why anyone wouldn't take to him.
