  1. Pleased Lallana has signed up and always enjoy watching him play, but think he's had a bit of a mixed season, partly not helped by injuries to be fair.
  2. Nothing to investigate as it isn't racist, but it is a pointless sign, not going to stop anyone nicking his stock is it.
  3. In your opinion. But why change it? What benefit will Saints gain from doing so?
  4. Don't know what talking about being outraged is all about? Can you think of a good reason for changing our club crest now?
  5. 1974 to 2013 - 40 years, so all that at least 75% of our support can remember in their life-time. I don't necessarily think our badge is brilliant, but it is one of the few things about our club that is unique and would be easily recognisable throughout British football. I don't mind change in itself, as long as there is a genuinely good reason behind it, but I can't see what changing the badge would achieve? I've got a feeling we'll go for the black and white silhouette that the club have been using everywhere for the last couple of years.
  6. Well I think that proves my point doesn't it.
  7. Just the way some tiers are set up. QPR has a "big" upper tier and is in effect the away end, with a small lower tier added to it, rather than the other way around. Man City most of the upper tier sat I think, and was 50/50 in upper tier at Chelsea I believe.
  8. Ferguson has got plenty wrong over the years. No shortage of average players that have turned out for him.
  9. No-one is going to be paying him 90k a week on his new contract are they? QPR's kind of business was poor player selection, poor management and a poor team ethic - that's not necesserily linked to how old a player is or how much you're paying them. What would be your limit to pay a player per week that is in his late 20s, proven Prem quality, would greatly stengthen our squad, but might not have much sell on value.?
  10. Davis and Boruc will both be on pretty decent money - they've both proved to be good deals and it's unlikely we'll sell either for much in the future - Flamini would be on a free as well. Out of interest, what's the most we should be paying a player per week that will probably have little or no sell-on value?
  11. You don't think signing Boruc or Davis was very smart? Fair enough.
  12. Exactly that.
  13. Who has said "as good as"? No-one. Football is no as simple as that. So what would you do about our left back position? Continue to have Fox as cover? Or drop Shaw and bring someone else in that is better than him?
  14. They'd be higher I'd expect, but the principle is the same, Davis is late 20s, will be on big-ish money, the idea that we won't or shouldn't go for anyone in that bracket is wrong.
  15. Surely either Millwall or Wigan will be in Europe next season as long as whichever team they play in the final has qualified via the league?
  16. That's why it's important to build an actual squad. We have strength in depth in some areas, not in others.
  17. Erm, not even close to being good enough to fill in for Schneirderlin or Cork I'm afraid.
  18. Is it any different in signing a high-wage earning 27 year old such as Steve Davis? Who from the academy do you think can provide good enough cover should Schneiderlin or Cork be out for a while?
  19. Be interesting if someone, maybe one of the mods, went through all the MOTM results from this season, top three from each game would be good to see.
  20. You think fan ownership involves a group of fans stood around in the boardroom debating the value of a player, that's obviously not what happens. Can you give me an example from any of the clubs that have some form of fan ownership of anything like this happening?
  21. Never before has there been more need for this What more can be said?
  22. That's obviously not how supporter ownership works is it?
  23. Yes it should be very easy to understand, even for the thickest and most deluded of skates. How does "over-funded" work? Sounds the opposite of the "under-funded" skate model.
  24. I'm certainly not a fan of Allardyce, but that is a pretty strange and inaccurate re-writing of his managerial career.
  25. Exactly. They weren't bothered about doing anything when playing in Cup Finals and the Premier League with players they could never afford.
