  1. Its not the fact that we made changes, I fully expected that, it's the fact that we didn't even have a couple of potential match winners on the bench to chuck on for 30mins and actually try and win a game of football was what frustrated me. A good cup run is one of the biggest buzzes in football and we went out with an absolutely pathetic whimper.
  2. I want to keep Adkins, but I'm not sure what that article really tells us? If any of us do well in our jobs and get a promotion, we'll be expected to deliver at that level. If Adkins makes a mistake, which he has, he should be criticised like any other manager. The crowd has been pretty clear in it's vocal support for him, both on Sunday and last night, so there can't be too many complaints in that regard?
  3. Good line up that. More solid defensively, but can still very much see us scoring with that.
  4. I said last season that we were over-achieving, meaning it as a compliment to what I felt was Adkins ability to get that bit extra out of players and got slated for saying our players weren't good enough. Thing is how many of our starting line up are left over from last season? We've had the opportunity to improve all over. I feel more than anything it's the confidence at the club that has gone, problem is, once that goes its very difficult to get back.
  5. Of course it's hard to switch on and off, the 4 worst players in my eyes were Butterfield, Lee, Seaborne and De Ridder and they've all played very little football this year (plus they're not very good). But my point was that plenty of the first team have already had a season full of breaks, I don't feel it would have been over stretching them with at least a 30mins cameo off the bench to actually try and win the game.
  6. I was expecting a weakened side, however the difference to the previous rounds was we didn't have another game for 6 days, it was tougher opposition/location, plus a later round - would you expect us to play such a weak team in the semi final for example?
  7. Thats the annoying thing - Leeds were nowhere near as good as they were last season, they really didn't look particularly sharp or hungry last night and a good Saints side could have turned them over. It was hardly an unwinnable game that should just be written off.
  8. How much football has a lot of our first team even played this year? No midweek games, international weekends off etc. Plenty of players play twice a week regularly without any problems.
  9. No top level professional football club should take such a half hearted approach to winning a game - it's the attitude of losers. At least Leeds won't have made any money out of us tonight going on how much they must have shelled out for all those police and stewards.
  10. Leeds weren't anywhere near as good tonight as they were against Everton.
  11. Lots of us care. We'd love to see our club in the final of a cup or to win a trophy. If you don't want that fair enough.
  12. I care, as did the other 600 Saints up here tonight, plus all those Saints fans that might like to see their side play in a cup final or win a trophy. Leeds weren't anywhere near as good as they were against Everton. 4 very poor performances from Saints; Butterfield, Seaborne, Lee and De Ridder - can't see any of them playing for us again. Positives - thought Davis played well, Chaplow lots of energy and Isgrove when he came on looked very lively, bit of potential there.
  13. Falling out of the Prem didn't 'nearly kill' us as you said. On obsession of getting back into the Prem at all costs did.
  14. Who said it didn't cost us money? The amount of time you spend on here, I thought you would have mastered the ability to comprehend other's posts.
  15. How ironic that fans in the Chapel can manage to make some noise to have a pop at a Saints player and then get worked up when he has a go back, but show no passion or make any noise when it comes to actually getting behind the team.
  16. So we'll only have one senior keeper up there?
  17. No it didn't. Bad management did.
  18. There is more to football than how much money your club is able to pull in. Bad enough the people that run our game are obsessed by cash, even sadder when fans start to follow suit.
  19. As strong a team as possible for me. Would love to win a trophy. We have a week until our next game. The team needs to get back in the winning habit and build some confidence.

I'm definitely a fan of Adkins and I certainly think he should stay, but what is all this stuff about playing the "right" way? We lumped the ball forward plenty yesterday.

    Bale

Was going to say apart from the goal, he was fairly quiet. Lennon much more of a threat throughout the game.
  22. If I'm entirely honest, he hasn't quite lived up to my expectations. Seems to switch off often when defending and unlike a lot of posters on here, I don't think he offers much going forward - his crossing inparticular has been poor.
  23. There have been two other coach companies running services this season. Just google 'Saints Away coaches', if you get no joy let me know.
  24. At least he didn't get the guitar out.
  25. There are no trains running. Should be some sort of tube service. There are other coaches apart from the 'bingo' bus.
