Yep, only other one I can think of and made him look petty and bitter. Not saying the club and Echo have to be best mates over everything, but in the past the two have got on pretty well, just doesn't do anyone any favours if the club dig their feet in and say "We're never speaking to you again".
-
Not being funny mate, but I don't think you've bothered reading this thread have you?
-
Having an overall and outright policy of not talking to the local paper is pretty petty. Can't remember seeing any other club doing this?

The link to the story is at the top of the page!

Very hard for a club to back a manager in this situation without it sounding half hearted, no-one can guarantee Adkins will be here at the end of the year or even at Xmas, so it would be very difficult for the club to say anything. Agree they should just say nothing in this instance though, their statement doesn't really help. Can't see it being Redknapp at all for so many reasons.
-
But what could the club really say? I agree on your 2nd point though, lose by more than one goal on Sunday and he's gone. Alternatively if we nick a win everything will look very different. Massive game.
-
We do seem to have quite a big media team that doesn't do that much. But what could a club statement say about Adkins?
-
To be honest, I get on the club's/NC's back a bit, but you can't really expect them to explain some of those. The Official Club tweets this morning are weird, really no need for them to say anything and it makes you think Adkins may not have much longer in the role.
-
Agreed. I think Guly would make up a good 3 in midfield with Davis and Schneiderlin, almost in that sort of Yaya Toure role (obviously he's no-where near that class of player before anyone gets the wrong end of the stick).
-
What about all those that started leaving when we were only 2-1 down to Fulham? Hardly supporting the side. Large parts of the ground are quiet throughout the game, it's time like these when the whole ground needs to try and make a difference.
-
Not massively worried at the moment and I think we will improve. However, having watched a fair few other Premier League games so far this season, it's hard to call three teams that I'm confident are worse than us.
-
HE's right though. Anyone who remembers the relegation dog fights at the Dell will tell you what a difference the home support often made. The crowd can't win games of football, but they can help set the mood and the tone of the day.
-
The game isn't on sky. I'm all for supporting Billy Sharp and his charity, but I'm really not a fan of minutes o applause during games. Plus I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else apart from this thread.
-
Are we going to have one of these threads after every game?
-
You can't just say "who knows". Surely you've got some thoughts and opinions on who could/should take over?
-
Would anyone really want Curbsihley? He's track record really isn't that impressive.

We seem to be lacking confidence, both on and off the pitch. Football is all about momentum. Last season the momentum was with us, with promotion from league one and a good winning start. That probably allowed us to over achieve. This season almost the opposite is ture. A tough start and some bad results and you can feel the momentum and conficence draining away from the team, whereas a fairly average side like West Ham go from stength to stength. Funny old game.

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Sour Mash replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Who are you to say Matt Le Tissier should 'shut up'? It's his personal twitter account, if he wants to moan about something thats p*****g him off and get it off his chest he's got every right to. He's hardly a 'Joey Barton' is he? -

Whether you believe it or not, what Turkish has just described isn't 'normal' is it? -

You seen any of his recent media or public appearances? Couldn't see someone less bitter or more chilled out. I can't think of any club.in the world that would treat it's greatest ever player/hero like this. -
What sort of training was he doing? Ball work?

Do you seriously believe that Le Tiss is that bothered about being Chairman? -

Pretty much all modern football is ridiculously priced, but its market forces. Bit pointless in that article comparing Premier League teams based in London to Scottish 3rd division prices. Also, what should be relevant is what the cheapest price is and what percentage of tickets are available at that price.
