  1. So Swansea at home is probably the game we can expect to see him back for?
  2. Two points - Firstly your comparison to the North-West of England isn't great; it is much more of a footballing area than large parts of Hampshire. Secondly, if there are so many people keen to watch football at St Marys, where have they been this season?
  3. Their lack of basic football knowledge speaks volumes "Fact: Every season for the last 10 years at least one of the bottom three on 1st September has gone down. Take your pick:Liverpool, QPR, Southampton" and "It's hard to see Southampton getting out of the relegation zone isn't it. "
  4. Ha, f**ks sake, talk about still bitter from last year!
  5. Out of interest, who else has been nominated?
  6. Fair enough, I remember a few different quotes, plus what we were telling new signings, but I think one interview is enough. You seem to be agreeing with me that we've had games that have given us good opportunites to pick up points. 4 points from Wigan, Villa and Fulham at home is not what anyone would have expected/aimed/planned for.
  7. I agree and fully expected it to be hard and a struggle and I certainly want to keep Adkins, however, a couple of points; - The club, including Adkins haven't helped themselves by constantly talking up our aims for the season, talking about challenging for the top, competing in Europe etc, raising supporter's expectations. Yes it is good to be positive at the start of the season and of course we don't expect the club to say "we hope we might scrape survival", but as with every walk of life, expectation management is important these days. - Has our start been that difficult? Wigan, Aston Villa and Fulham at home in a batch of 7 games gives decent scope for picking up points by Premier League Standards.
  8. How many people have been stoned to death in the USA in the last, let's say, 50 years?
  9. Mass immigration and the abuse of and dependence on the welfare state is what has stuffed this country over the last 30 years.
  10. I'm very much in the Pro-Adkins camp, but let's not get too carried away with the "horrendous fixtures" thing - we've had Wigan, Aston Villa and Fulham at home in a batch of 7 games, that's not too bad by Prem standards for picking up points.
  11. If you get the chance, try and watch Fonte's interview after Sunday's game. I thought he came over really well, articulate, very focused and determined to improve and perform as well as possible.
  12. But never had 3.2k to sell to their fans.
  13. The thing is, that is the "official" rule, but the way so many clubs only offer the extra allocation to the away club on the basis that they have to cover the cost of any unsold, often means the away club taking the safe option and only taking a smaller allocation. Bit like Fulham at ours on Sunday.
  14. None, based on these prices/allocation.
  15. But as he hasn't made any "cataclysmic" errors, I'm not sure what your point is?
  16. Brilliant prices. Can't complain at those.
  17. Got round to watching Adkins post-match interview from Sunday. Really never seen him like that, the bloke looks absolutely gutted about something. As a side point, Fonte came over brilliantly in his interview, very focused at performing better.
  18. Like there aren't already enough boring anti-Adkins threads on here.....
  19. Stats like that can only tell you so much, a lot comes from actually watching the game.
  20. Not seen any stats on it, but reckon him and Puncheon gave it away plenty in the 2nd half. That combined with their lack of tracking back really put our defence under pressure.
  21. I agree we were great yesterday, but what else could Adkins have done regarding the defensive line-up? Do you honestly feel we played worse after Lambert and Puncheon went off?
  22. Agree we went long a lot. Partly as a result of Gazzanigga's excellent kicking, partly due to Hooiveld and Fox's inclusion and their love of a long, cross field ball, but partly as our only real option. Why do you think we couldn't hold onto the ball? A midfield combination of Schneiderlin, Davis, Puncheon and Lallana should be half decent at retaining possession.
  23. You're clearly a Skate on a (bad) wind up. Bore off.
  24. What about Man City away? Or Villa at home?
