  1. This. Dune is right though, once we get used to the £3 charge, then the prices will get pushed up. A lot of fans outside of Southampton that I know have no choice but to pay the £3 and it does add up over the course of the season.
  2. Good to see you completely miss the point of Turkish's post.
  3. Where have you seen that advertised? And why are we offering them such a good deal?
  4. That's the most spot on thing you've ever posted pal. What can you do though apart from stop going?
  5. Any away game that is only being sold to season ticket holders will show as being "sold out" on the on-line system, as the system can't cope with stopping non-season ticket holders buying them. Therefore, these tickets are only available in person or via the ticket booking line.
  6. The Rocket. Bit of a s**t hole, but you can't miss it and it does the trick.
  7. Actually going on Adkins post match interview it seems he chose to play DB ahead of FR. Fair play, wouldn't have been my call, but it worked.
  8. An excellent performance. I don't know if its us playing well or the oppossition being poor, but I genuinely haven't really seen a decent opposing side so far this year. The league is there for the taking. Today's performances reminded me of how we played at teh start of the year, I had feared we'd lost some of that momentum, as we had been struggling of late, but today was good. Davis had a good game and was worked a fair bit, did everything he needed to well. Hooiveld was excellent yet again, sign him up. The two things that really made the difference though were 1) The obviouse, the return of Lallana. Box of tricks that makes things happen for us and pulls defences open. 2) The return of the central midfield partnership of COrk and Hammond working well again as it had at the start of the season, ticking us over, winnining the ball, then keeping possession, constantly being available for their team mates. Chaplow was my MOTM for sheer work rate alone, but top performances from Guly and Lambert. I like a moan, but really can't complain with the points wie've earnt from this tough run of games through October.
  9. The front two-thirds of block 42 hardly sing and a fair few stood up the back are utter mongs.
  10. I thought Richardson has been excellent so far this season and Butterfield a bit poor on Tuesday night, so was a bit disappointed when I heard our line up, but Butterfield was excellent, defended well and put some great crosses in. Not the hardest day at the office and I'd still put FR back in the team when fit. Assume he just had a knock during the week or something?
  11. That's the sad thing, plenty aren't teenagers, but grown men in their 40s and 50s acting like bell ends. I cringe at the songs that lot at the back of block 42 come out with and their pathetic waving of season tickets and singing "plastic fans" songs. Its great that the Northam and Kingsland corner are all stood and fair play to the stewards these days, they don't even try to make us sit. But loads that go in there either struggle to even sing OWTS properly, the most popular song seems to be "Red and White Barmy Army" or they don't sing at all. Rubbish.
  12. Yep, add that one to the two already mentioned in this thread, then add "Wherever is a s**thole, I want to go home" and you've got a sure fire way of spotting the retards in our support. Always the same cretins singing them as well.
  13. As do most people around me unfortunately, although what most people seem to enjoy doing is clapping along frantically like a demented seal.
  14. Yes, I'm well aware of what you're suggesting, I'm just saying it's stupid. I can't think of too many things I team would rather hear in their dressing room half an hour before kick off in a big game, than that the best oppossition player that they were all worried about is now not playing. Would give everyone a bit of a lift going onto the pitch.
  15. Not harsh at all. Most of us have enough of a footballing brain to know a bad performance when we see one. He has only looked a threat when coming off the bench late on - I can't see that changing for a while.
  16. Good thing about both those songs is it make it easy to identify any bell ends standing around you that sing/clap along. Two s**t songs though, not sure which I hate more.
  17. Really? What would be the point in doing that apart from giving M'Boro a lift just before kick off?
  18. I'm still a bit undecided about him. Yes, he is a quality passer of the ball, but I think his tackling is average at best and as he result he often gives away too many soft free kicks. He offers little going forward, doesn't break from midfield, offers little threat of scoring or breaking into the box. He should be improving after that many first team performances! Bit of a joke earlier in the thread where someone suggested the French National team were interested - no chance.
  19. Not one for drinking in the ground, but that's a good deal and 2.15 is quite a late cut off, can get a round or two in just before the cut off and that would see you through to kick off alright.
  20. Exactly -that's what I've been banging on about - most team's start playing stronger teams as they progress, not weaker. Guess we maybe now realise we have a good chance of promotion, better than expected at the start. Or maybe recent games have taken a serious toll on the squad and it's struggling to cope with league games, let alone midweek cup matches.
  21. Not really considering all the political stuff that would come with doing so. To be fair we're not too different from most clubs, more than happy to get knocked out.

    Balotelli

I think Balotelli is a knob. Would rather have have a team of Gary Nevilles any day of the week.
  23. Adkins is very good at playing it right in-front of a camera (nothing wrong with that), but no matter what he says or how he "looks", the team selectiona nd overall performance says more about how bothered we were about the comp than any interview might. Most clubs seem happy to get knocked out. The competition is slowly dying and it's a pity.
  24. The O/P has got a point. What is the point of the Carling Cup? It needs a kill or cure solution? Either reinvigorate it, come up with enough of a reason for it to be taken seriously by all and make games a worthwhile experience or just get rid of it full stop. Ridiculous having a competition that the majority of clubs seem more than happy to be knocked out of at the earliest opportunity.
  25. The ref was an absolute joke, the worst I've seen all season by a long way. Wouldn't give us anything and had a completely random approach to playing advantage when there was none. Carling Cup is about his level, no-way could he be trusted with an "important" match.
