We were constantly cutting back in the 2nd half. We had loads of opportunities to break and kept on having to stop and cut back. Not only is it frustrating from an attacking point of view, but allows the opposition to throw men forward, knowing that its very unlikely they'll be punished at the back. Possession football is great and I'm loving our run of wins, but I think things like our lack of cutting edge really shouldn't be over looked.
-
We can't counter attack because we have no pace going forward. Once West Ham woke up to that in the 2nd half they realised they could throw half their team forward with little fear of being caught on the break. As withthe Derby game I thought we were set up with a lack of creativity and cutting edge. If Lallana is out, then De Ridder should play. Both West Ham and Derby were happy for us to knock it around slowly in-front of their back 4, with little threat of a cutting edge.

Agreed, I'm not his biggest fan, as I think he often gives away cheap free kicks, but I thought he was excellent. The competition between the four central midfielders has really paid off with all of them putting in top class performances this year.

It's pretty much spot on.
-
I'd pretty much agree with all that to be fair.

Not being funny mate, but you sound absolutely clueless.
-
I tell you what. Stick on a Saints shirt and have a stroll around Frtton at their next home game and see if only 1% of their lot has a pop at you. Let us all know how you get on.
-
If you think that, then you are seriously deluded.
-
I would be seriously unhappy if that is the case. No-way can they do it one way, but not the other.

Looking for a London boozer for Reading game...

Can you only do the Kings X area? Based on the fact that kick off isn't until 5.20? -
Well what is the point of the police if it isn't to control the crowds and stop misbehaviour? If everyone turned up at football sober, an hour before kick off, queued orderly and only had the correct tickets, there would be no need for police or stewards. They were paid to deal with such incidents, the Leppings Lane end was well known for congestion, however not only did the police make loads of wrong decisions throughout the day, they then endeavoured to cover them up afterwards. That surely can't be right in anyone’s eyes can it?
-
Many people miss the point on all this. So what if some Liverpool fans turned up without tickets or misbehaved? That is what the police are paid for, too control the crowd, if that wasn't an issue, the police wouldn't have been paid to be there. Its the same as going to a music festival - the people in charge of running security don't control the crowd properly, let far too many in, then as people are slowly crushed to death, fail to react and fail to adequately deal with the casualties, then it appears that the authorities have covered up what had happened - wouldn't you expect a fair and open enquiry? Put the fact that it is football to one side for a moment and have a decent read of the way the authorities carried themselves on this day and those that followed. I'm no fan of Scousers and they love a moan and love to make out they're "different", but you can't call them on this one. Fair play for persisting and fair play for ensuring that the families of those killed get some answers from the authorities charged with protecting their safety at the game.

Think you can buy tickets tomorrow as well.

Plenty Of Allardyce's teams have turned over teams that can play much better football than we can, how many times did Arsenal struggle over the years for example? West Ham are in form and have proven quality throughout the side. Lallana out is a massive blow and I am worried about how good our defence is against real quality, especially if Richardson hasn't recovered after Derby.
-
And we've sold £14m of talent, so our net spend must be a negative and we're one of the lowest spenders in the Championship?
-
Compared to a lot of the games I've seen us play this year, I'd say it was far from an "excellent game". Scrappy, struggle thougout. Derby were utter sh**e in my opinion, one of the worst sides I've seen this year. Just my opinion like.
-
Yep. Most will happily concentrate on the fact that we're still top (as good as that is), without looking at how frustrating we are at times. Seriously, so close to being way ahead at the top. Just fear some of these games come back to bite us at the end of the year.
-
Yes and that is what is hopefully catered for by adequate disabled provision at most grounds. It is clear that the vast majority want to stnad at away games, so who is being selfish at enforcign their will on others? Its been the way for many years, same applies for every other decently supported club.

Zzzzzzzzz............ What is the point of this thread? Can't we just copy and paste from the Leicester/Burnley/Cardiff games? S**t early defending followed by controlling the game? Most won't get my point, but I'm genuinely p**sed off after this run of away games. I haven't seen one oppossition side that I think are anything special. Derby were sh**te, there for the taking, its genuinely frustrating how close we really could be to running away with this league. S**t team selection from Adkins - if you were a Derby defender and saw that Lallana was missing, you'd be rubbing your hands at seeing Chaplow being the replacement, no matter how wll he's played as a sub this year. Surely it had to be De Ridder in for Lallana? Threaten their defence from the start? Also, unless (very possibly) I've missed something, why no Hammond? Thought Guly was excellent again as was Lambert, Cork is Prem class. Still think Connolly is off the ball in my book and Fox needs to get to the bye line more often. Queit, uninterested support from us, as always when everyone starts jumping on the bandwagon.
-
Well there are no tickets available on the day, so if you haven't got one you're too late I think.
-
Not really. They've regularly got big crowds at home over the last few years.
-
Stuff like this is stupid when they won't open the Itchen North.
-
Exactly. Anyone with half a brain could guess AP left because he didn't get on with those at Executive level. Not too sure what this thread actually tells us?
