Do I win the 2014 diplomatic award for such a momentus achievement then?
-
Exactly my point he was not worth that amount of money either and he had a bit more about him than Rhodes last season... I realise that you do need to pay higher for British players, but you would need to be confident that if they have not played in the Premiership before that they can be good enough to cut it in there. We were convinced JayRod could when we paid out £7.5m for him, and he has - Same with Long, he has Prem experience and £12m was a going reate there. But Rhodes or indeed McCormack neither of which have Prem experience are not up there at £12m in my book.
-
Just saying that he is not worth £12m - Never played in the prem and not much in the way of suitors over the past couple of seasons. However, he might have talent that somebody of RonKo's class can tap out of him. Morgan on the other hand is worth £30m.... For all the reasons we know.
-
He really is not a £12m player in my book - However If it was around the £4m mark then I would take him

Bit of a bugger that, because Boca have no money either..

Difficult for a home team to park the bus in front of their own fans - They have to give it a lash! We must be patient tonight, but I'm confident we will break through in the end.
-
It would be nice to be 3-0 up at half time and cruising, but I think Villa are going to work their socks off tonight and it will be difficult. In saying that I would take 1-0 and I think that is what it will be...

Effectively she was taking the **** in a rather supercilious manner. Thats fine we all do that now and again to people, but perhaps not to those whose taxes contribute towards their ministerial salary...
-
Why on earth not ! Toby was a Champions league Finalist last year and plays for the 4th best rated nation in the world... And he was happy to come here. Are you that lacking in our own self-esteem?
-
The Spuds fans would be absolutely livid! I live and work amongst loads of them, and they currently regard Levy as highly as most of the Saints fans did Lowe at his absolute nadir. To them, Kane is the only spark in their season so far and to exchange him for a recovering ACL casualty (as good as JayRod is) would signal a mobilisation of pitchforks and burning torches at White Hart Lane!

Agree - It is impossible to manage what he already knows (or anybody else on gardening leave for that matter), but what it does prevent is "the gardener's" knowledge being current. So if in the case of Mitchell, and lets assume he does have 3 months gardening leave, The Club's recruitment strategy may well change in that intervening period which will of course not be within Mitchell's sphere of knowledge. His knowledge will be out of date before he even starts at Levy-Ville!

Yes it is odd, as while he is a very powerful defender (and certainly not a slow coach), he is not rapid enough to play as a left back in the sense that we like our full backs to play. He is nowhere is fast as Nat or Ryan nor does he have their attacking nouse either. I think if he played up against Jefferson Montero, then he would be roasted in a similar manner as Chambers was last week I would suggest. However as a CB option on the left side, then he is more than decent.
-
Martins Indi is certainly not fast enough to be a left back, so this would be scouting on the possibility of LCB only I would say.
-
Levy is under a lot of pressure, so any of our so called targets are not going to cut much mustard with the North London mob... They want success now and any targets they have a got to keep bums on their seats - Building a team is not in their current ethos...And their fans are perhaps the most impatient bunch I have ever known..
-
Shane was'nt a particular goal threat until Leicester... Plus Corky and Vic have been putting them away this season after some barren times... If you are coached well enough in the right system and you have the ability, then you will score and no reason to think Redmond would not.
-
Yes he's only been there since just after the World Cup so it would be odd for him to consider moving so soon. However RonKo managed him last year at Feyenoord so he knows him well, and he looked a pretty powerful left sided centre back at the World Cup. Lets wait and see what unfolds...

Great actor... Remember his cameo in Blackadder 3 - "aye oop, who's this big girls blouse then?" !
-
Quite simple - Levy splashes the cash thinking he can solve any problem that way! If he doubles Mitchell's money then who would'nt go?
-
Agree he certainly has - lets enjoy his contribution for the remainder of this season just in case it's his last for us, but if we do qualify for the CL, do not be surprised if he hangs around for another season.
-
It's not about them being a so called bigger club at all - It will be money, pure and simple! Levy has this theory that he can just chuck money around and all will be fine - Sometimes as we have seen so far this season it does not always work that way! If he goes for 100% pay rise, who can blame him - But I hope he will be happy in a currently very unhappy club!!
-
And how I would love it if we pizz them off by continuing to do very, very well!
-
Could even be Barcelona, Real, PSG or Bayern and not just Prem so called "Big Clubs"! And it did mention "one day" not "immediately". The article states he will review his options at the end of the season too, so if Saints are in the CL, I would not bet against him staying.
-
Yep - As I posted on another thread, many "Levy Out" banners were confiscated at the turnstiles at Spuds on Sunday, and the round chorus of boo's at the final whistle was drowned out by gigawatt decibels of music from the PA system! Levy is about as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip on that side of North London at the moment. As you say, hopefully Mitchell will see us as a far more attractive proposition.

Toby is class! Sign Him !!!
