  1. I think I have also read on Sky (at the weekend) our interest in him, and a young 16 year old from Zurich called Burkart. We build from youth wherever we find the talent it seems.
  2. Classy lad - I am sure he means it too..
  3. My sentiments entirely... Hope he comes back to full fitness as soon as possible..
  4. Good man Virgil - Welcome !
  5. It appears that Spuds have left virtually everything to the last minute and are ending up getting zilch in terms of their targets.. Their own "black box" arrangement needs a bloody good wind up I would say
  6. Missed out on some great European nights there... very disappointing.
  7. Agree - We fought hard last season to be in it, and I would have loved us to have a good run in this competition. I honestly thought that with a fair wind and a fit squad to choose from we could have gone an awful long way in this competition. I feel very, very disappointed we went out in such a manner, and hope we can recover from this and qualify again so we can get another shot next year.
  8. Might turn out to be our best signing this summer..
  9. Absolutely him ! Would score at least 12 goals for us this season, provide creativity, at least 10 assists and a potent free kick threat.
  10. £30m would do it OK - But we should drive them upwards like Everton are doing to Chelsea.. Make the arrogant prats snivel a bit...
  11. While he was'nt the right man for the board during those bad times, he was the right man at the right time to help the club through the worst times by his generosity and love of the club. Like everyone else who has commented, we will always be thankful to him.
  12. Could'nt agree more.... If Boro and Fulham can get to a final (in the recent past), then why the hell can't we! A Europa cup win would give us terrific kudos in world football, guarantee us a place in the very rich Champions league and give us a hell of a fun season along theway...
  13. Am I correct in thinking Van Dijk would be cup tied for Europa games, where of course Koulibaly is'nt yet as Napoli have not played ? Might that form part of our thinking ?
  14. This guy is a real unit though and fairly athletic to boot - Lukaku would not have got much change out of him on Saturday if he were playing.. Might be an interesting one...
  15. I think you are looking into things a little too deeply... he probably wanted to make absolutely sure that Mourinho did not have him in his plans before he committed elsewhere - he must have been on a decent wedge at Chelsea after all.. Personally, this could be a real coup for us - A very capable and talented young holding midfielder with an excellent apprenticeship record behind him.. He could certainly end up every bit as good as Morgan. Welcome to the club Oriol.
  16. Another lad not fancied by Mourinho (Like Ryan) but has a good pedigree andwould be a very good addition to the squad. I like the sound of this.
  17. Cheers mate... Would love to play you again sometime.. Your Club and your City are a credit to you.
  18. Good point - Would be nice for Kat to be there.
  19. He scored the only goal of the game when we played Leeds at home in Div 1 - He promptly ran in front of the Leeds fans giving it large to a rather "warm" reaction... A fantastic moment I thought.. Good bloke, good player and I'm sure he will do great at Eastleigh
  20. I saw a few snippets of that game too, and I agree with your concerns. He was way out of position when the Ross player was brought down by Gordon, and he allowed the Ross centre forward to get away from him very easily and then strolled back rather than chase him back. In saying that he did look good with the ball at his feet when moving forward. He has the raw materials I think, but he does need some coaching and defensive discipline drilled into him.
  21. Enjoyed that - Good read fella !
  22. perhaps not necessarily a marque signing. I would be most happy with a centre back who is comfortable with the ball at his feet in a similar vein to Toby, and Van Dijk seems to have that quality. Caulker on the other hand, well I do hope he proves me wrong because I have never been overly impressed by him.
  23. Brilliant and this news from one of our known and respected ITK's... Just got to land him now... Come on Qarabag you can beat them! As for Caulker, I hope he proves all my previous posts about him being slow in pace and slow of thought wrong...
  24. Has the turning circle of an oil tanker... I would not be too impressed by him to be honest.. Martins Indi on the other hand would be awesome...
