  1. Thanks Mulgrew and welcome. I had read somewhere that Van Dijk got on well with Koeman which might place us at an advantage should he become available. If that did happen then I would be really chuffed if he joined us - He has looked good for you over the past season. I too think there is more in the Forster rumour and that we might well win his signature should your CL foray end early and Celtic make him available - I guess that seems more likely with you getting Gordon in early on.
  2. If we are in for Forster and/or Van Dijk then there is no way that any movement will happen until after Celtic have been officially knocked out by Legia Warsaw first. Over the weekend the press have been linking us with around £150m+ worth of players if you roughly add it all up which is more than even Twitchy has been linked with. This is just down to the press knowing we have money to spend and probably little else in the way of truth. The vast majority of these are pure guesses or speculation and will not happen, and by equal measure Samaras is just another one of these. Personally I think its better when its quiet sometimes - Then expectations are not overly raised.
  3. Hernandez by no means can be described as a reject. A proven premiership goalscorer and at international level too - He would walk into most sides first XI other than Man Ure's and I would want him here in a heartbeat. Zaha was perhaps promoted to a level he was not ready for when ManUre came shopping for him, but he was the talisman that hauled Palace into the Prem and has age on his side too, he will come good again at a club who can nurtue him better. Rodwell again was advanced too much too soon into Man City's bulging squad of galacticos and after being unlucky with injuries could not get a sniff of first team action. Again he can still come good but I do worry more about his fitness and lack of games over the past couple of years.
  4. Played very well for Algeria when they played Belgium in the WC and made their so called "golden generation" play lateral for most of the match - Bettered Dembele by a mile who was hauled off not to appear in the tournament as a starter again.
  5. While I agree to a point the overwhelming majority of those were as a late substitute, and you can argue that on our first game back to the prem, he started against Man City before Shaw and Chambers had made their full prem debuts. I just had the impression that Poch did'nt really know where to play him and tended to prefer others.
  6. Totally agree with that - Poch rather sidelined him last season it would seem, but he is every bit as good as Shaw and Chambers and has the potential and temprement to become even better.
  7. This sounds all very encouraging. From a club in supposed disarray, we have won all our pre-seaon matchs so far including a CC play-off team last season at their own place. RonKo seems to have them focussed and if we can strengthen in a few more places we are going to be OK.
  8. Very true and relevant. Should put a few of our more grandiose posters opinions into some perspective perhaps!
  9. Now this would make me dance around the office with my trousers down and a lampshade on my head !!
  10. So one Italian of Argentinian descent replaced by another Italian of Argentinian descent.... Lets hope he's not from the same school of crackpots!
  11. Agree, not bad player albeit a little injury prone (like most of West Ham to be fair)
  12. Maybe but Bertrand does have some pedigree - CL winner, England International, Olympic Team etc...
  13. If its Taider you mean, he played for Algeria at the WC in the Belgium match where he played his part in shackling the so called Belgian talent to lateral passing - Until Fellaini got his head on a cross to equalise. He was hard working, good touch and quite decent.
  14. Pay no mind to the Popular London Media who are Spurs Luvvies to a great degree - I read the Metro and the Standard every morning and evening on the train and one would think Spurs are up there with Bayern Munich... Dream Move - My Arse!!
  15. Thats the way I see it too - Decent loan signing and lets not get hung up by way of it "only being a loan" - If it works we buy, if it does'nt work we have lost nothing... It's a sound acquisition at the right time for us in the right position. Welcome Ryan.
  16. Taider is more of a worker as opposed to a Gaston style "Schemer"
  17. Yes I like the look of that - Now for Les to do his work and get these guys in....
  18. He is worth £8m to Villa I would say (Captain and Leader) not to mention being a rock at the back. Add to that his world cup performances then personally we should not baulk and we should pay that.
  19. Tend to agree, but I would be inclined to keep our priorities in acquiring players first and foremost and then we deal with Morgen's move if a suitable offer is tabled. He will have to wait his turn!
  20. It certainly was...
  21. Thats taken the wind out of his sails a bit... Very amusing. I wonder if he had a rather deep and probing body search thrown in for good measure too....
  22. Unlikely to be a "big Club" come in for him so if "an also ran" comes in offering to double his money then I'm sure he would not tell them to "ferk off" !
  23. Don't mind that - It probably means there are people there who give a damn...
  24. Spurs lad at work confirm they would have to sell before they buy. As you say they spent big (very big) last season and need a return on all that investment.
  25. But Vlaar is much better in my view.
