Is Saintmarc still lurking then ? Or does he have another alter-ego.... Saint twerp for example !
-
I think it was by his sheer naivety and lack of any business acumen that saw him being thrown off the board by the very men he appointed ! As you say - Weak Prat ! And a dreamer......
-
The ridiculous thing with Pulis and Gasmi were that we signed them knowing that they were long term crocks !! Great Business - Not !
-
Boothroyd and Cotterill both possess a reasonable track record with working with younger players. Cotterill did a fantastic job with Cheltenham Town although did not enjoy quite such an illustrious career with Burnley ,although I think he won as many as he lost during his time there. Boothroyd has only managed Watford, but took them to the Prem above all expectations at the time. Both are quite young and are easily good enough to successfully manage in D1.

The best we can afford please. Tisdale is still learning his trade and this will be his first season in League 1 so he does not have that experience right now I'm afraid. We are not currently big enough for Ince's current aspirations I suspect so I would forget him too. Boothroyd or more preferably Cotterill would be the best shouts.

Sorry Ron - YOu just beat me too it but glad I was'nt the only person thinking that !
-
Yeah Mike we know ! Pearson was just as adept in developing younger players - He was part of the England youth set up after all !
-
An Icon of monumental proportions ! Never worked out why he went into court with noughts and crosses on his jumper !

Advert for potential buyers... Fat, Headless chicken who cannot cross the road looking for sponsorship for a new pair of red boots !

Only two offers on table - others rejected?!
Foxstone replied to Saint Fan CaM's topic in The Saints
I think this is what we all want, but was'nt there a suggestion that neither of the bids on the table came near the required benchmark. If so, I suggest we are in trouble ! -
Yes I was well entertained during those "manifesto", HMR, Fat Barry, Tommac and Cherrypip times - But if hes all there is - Then as you say "Bring on the programme"...
-
Don't disagree with that ! I'd make a pact with the devil himself if he did something positive to stop this clubs slide into oblivion and have it moving forward again.
-
I could not agree more Wes ! I am certain we really did let a diamond slip through our hands there and as you conclude, NP the Manager alongside the bigger gates that his fondness and support from the supporters would have offered him ( Lowe or not at the helm) might well have made a significant difference. In my opinion, this was a decision more crass than the Wigley appointment.
-
And I totally agree with that and disagree with 19C on that point specifically. From the moment i turned up to that Plymouth home game ( NP had arrived earlier in the day of course), and watched him as he supervised the warm-up and then saw his very proactive manner in the technical area during the game- I was certain that we had recruited a manager of talent and standing who had such a commanding prescence, that the lack of discipline and focus all too noticable during the time of that gibbering idiot Burley would be consigned to the past and we could build for the future. I was incandescent when he was not retained by Lowe and as you say the Dutch experiement was a disaster. However 19C did make some good points and it was a well put post. Something I welcome reading on this site rather than the all too frequent infantile outbursts we have seen.

Or rather it sounds like Le God to me !

Congratulations on a very lucid and reasonable post 19C. Most I agree with some I don't, but it was a good read nevertheless.

Well perhaps the "3 Amigos" were being at their obstructive best again ! Perhaps if SISU were engaged better they would have shown more inclination to want to do a deal. Whatever, Coventry are not in administration and we are..
-
Would be interested to hear Navyred's take on this as I am a tad surprised. I wonder if Racine has matured this season as he looked a good prospect during last pre-season's friendlies... Ditto Gobern.
-
Yep - Another sop for the people from the Wilde Bunch
-
Suspect that Patterson might play a bigger part his season but it would be good if we can find a "Howard like" centre forward to hold the ball up for the younger, quicker players to feed off.
-
He always was a weasel and is a bigger one now wringing his hands once he has played his part in sending this club into a tail spin ! Git !
-
Music to my ears.. From some of your previous postings I read that you can be a cynical old sod , so for you to be optimistic in such a way causes me to be optimistic too.
-
The words "Wilde" and "plausible" and "Wealthy" are quite amusing conjuncts if they had'nt turned out to be so bleeding wrong ! Good Read nevertheless.
-
Sounds perfectly reasonable. But is it not confusing that NP was accredited as being part of this 3 year plan given the above? Not that it matters anymore of course....
-
Crazy is'nt it ? Suspect that Spuds would not pay the entire amount owing on Bale when we asked so we accepted a reduced amount and they threw in Forecast as a "BOGOFF" !
