  1. Pompey in "A lot of empty seats at Fratton Park" shocker. Still theyve just gone 1-0 up:rolleyes:
  2. Spain is next and that is always a borefest.
  3. Alonso caught him cold. That's it really. Caught him sleeping IMO. The Hamilton pitlane incident could be looked into but even if it is, surely under these new safe release rules isn't a driver at a disadvantage if another car is following him close into the pits, the pit stops take the same time and by merely maintaining his track position has to be released into the oncoming car's path?
  4. what are the chances of Lewis being penalised for the pitlane incident and/or the incident with Webber after the safety car
  5. The point I'm merely making is Prescott bonking his secretary and playing croquet when he should have been running the country in Blair's absence etc, was sickening irony and hypocrisy of the highest order considering Prescott's actions when the 90s Tory scandals were the order of the day. Of all the hypocritical/sleazy MPs on all sides of the house, Prescott is up there with among the worst regardless of political party. The man is the definition of the word "buffoon". So is Boris Johnson but TBF he's almost a parody of himself. As for the upcoming election, I will be voting Lib Dem for one reason only. To keep the Tories out of my local constituency (Meon Valley) as it is almost certainly a two horse race between the two, with Labour fighting for a distant third with UKIP, Greens etc.
  6. He was the first in with the Tory sleaze allegations back in the 90s, then in the 00s bonks his secretary when he's not playing a round of croquet. Buffoon of the highest order.
  7. Er no, that's the truth about Nick Clegg's mum and dad. Try again.
  8. Andreas Jakobsson - most people could walk faster than he could run
  9. I think I've seen 2 Labour Party political broadcasts now and not heard one Labour Party policy
  10. A lot of the petrols are nearly as economical as the diesels now
  11. Uwe Rosler, can't remember him ever scoring for us in his 2-3 years here.
  12. Rudi Skacel - "a transfer coup" he was, but he never delivered.
  13. I know he's improved in the last couple of seasons but for us he was a woeful finisher.
  14. One of the worst passers of the ball I've ever seen. Pekhart was bloody awful for us also.
  15. A lot of them signings by Burley. Just showed the legacy the blithering idiot left here, achieved the absolute minimum with one of the best squads in the Championship at the time, made mostly **** poor signings, and any good signings he left on the bench to rot.
  16. TBH I think most of the Burley signings have been said
  17. But it works both ways. AP was a very good appointment, but we were a p1ss poor team when he took over. There was all of a sudden renewed optimism after years of doom and gloom. Maybe SOG was merely calling for patience because he was warning against people calling for AP's head if we weren't wiping out the 10 point deficit in the first five games. Pessimism maybe, but it's a valid point. I'm sure someone could find a quote from Poortvliet 'believing' in success with his brand of "total football", and a lot of saints fans falling for the PR for that matter.

  20. and pay their footballing debts in full, otherwise the FL won't let them compete in the Championship
  21. how times change. I can still remember the times when Bernard Manning was one of the most popular comedians in the world, never mind the UK. His racist material was tearing up the UK, it was even tearing up Vegas 30 years ago. In the UK cities he'd be selling out venues wherever he went, and had people of all colours and creeds in stitches in his audiences. He'd be appearing on national TV regularly Saturday nights making racist jokes. Sure there were people who hated it but they just didn't complain about it, they just ignored it/didn't watch it and got on with their lives. They weren't forced to watch it. Sure, times move on and this is reflected in the way that the likes of Manning/Roy Chubby Brown went more 'underground' as it were and became gradually less popular due to changing and 'more tolerant' attitudes, especially during and after the anti-racism/sexism/discrimination drive which only really started in the mid 90s Speaking as a Boyle fan, sure there are plenty of people who won't like him and will be offended by him and it is fairly obvious why. I like him for the politically incorrect aspect of his comedy, and his method of challenging taboos where few would elsewhere dare. I agree that he can go too far, when he starts making jokes where he starts offending people for the sake of it. As for this lady, she was a fan of Boyle. She knew his comedy. She knew he poked fun at taboos. I bet she laughed when he poked fun at other people regardless of what it was based on. Yet as soon as he pokes fun that just so happens to affect her directly she doesn't like it any more. Hypocrisy there? If you don't like Boyle, don't watch him. Plenty of people were offended by Manning years ago yet he wasn't widely condemned. People had the sense to not watch him if they thought they would be offended by him, instead of watching him and being offended despite having a good knowledge of his act in the first place. Very simple concept. It's like driving a car at 120mph down a motorway, crashing and then complaining to the car manufacturers because you crashed. It's the politically correct bandwagon calling for his head that I and a lot of other people object to. Far too many people in this world throw their whole support behind the concept of 'free speech' on the condition that the 'speech' doesn't offend them
  22. Why do people resort to this "I'm a better fan than you" playground rubbish "Real fans" are living people who follow Saints.
  23. I think the phrase "you never know what you got til it's gone" is relevant to a lot of people on here.
  24. once the PL have washed their hands of Pompey, Pompey will find it a whole lot tougher
