100% Yes

So it's the typical borefest that is Barcelona. Looks like the Red Bulls are going to win by about a lap. Interesting to see who can get the last step of the podium though

Congrats to Caroline Lucas, have never met her but she comes across as one of the friendliest and most efficient prospective MPs I've come across. I really do think what she has achieved is outstanding and I genuinely wish her all the best. (I don't say that to many MPs)

and the BNP's Bob Bailey kicking and punching a asian bloke on the floor will be a symbolic image for the media for many years to come. . .
-
With increased exposure to the public the BNP have gone backwards. They reckoned they had a chance of winning in Barking and fell short by a mere 18,000 votes lol Even the Tories beat them in a Labour stronghold. I didn't think the BNP would do that much and they haven't even done that, they got stuffed in every single constituency they stood in. Yes the number of people voting for them increased by just under 2% but that's got more to do with how many candidates they put out this time. They had nearly 200 more candidates standing in this election than they did 5 years ago and got only around 10,000 more votes. Pathetic.

The reason why people compare Griffin to Hitler is because Griffin and a lot of the BNP hierachy were former members of the National Front, an openly white supremacist group who have open links with neo-Nazism and groups who believe in the biological supremacy of white people, something Hitler promoted. Griffin has also openly criticized the bombing of Nazi Germany, by the RAF. Doesn't do himself many favours does he.

Richard Edmonds, a senior BNP official openly said "the BNP is 100% racist" when asked "Is the BNP racist?" by a Guardian journalist. And people still claim they aren't racist.

Wasn't he in Star Wars? And don't try and lecture me cos I wouldn't understand a word of it.

Barring that paragraph, you got it spot on IMO. I haven't seen anyone blame Lowe for Redknapp's signings. What people blame Lowe for is his handling of the Sturrock affair and appointing Wigley earlier in that season. As for Davenport & Bernard, who can forget Yahia & Van Damme also?
-
No it's them doing community projects for PR purposes and numpties like you falling for it. The BNP's latest party political broadcast was a chilling flashback to old Nazi propaganda broadcasts I saw years ago
-
Yes Bailey was spat at but his reaction was totally disproportionate. You cannot compare that to Prescott a few years ago. Yes, Prescott landed a left jab but he was pulled away in the chaos. Bailey was still punching and kicking the blokes 20 seconds after he was spat at, well after his initial reaction. I think that scene of the BNP candidate punching and kicking an Asian man whilst he is down on the floor is going to become quite a symbolic scene for the media. . .

A lot of people are forgetting that the FL had no say in this meeting today. I think they'll have something to say about 1) The 'new' Portsmouth FC even starting in the Championship, as opposed to the Conference South for instance 2) A very hefty points deduction It's only Andronikou I believe that reckons they can start next season in the Championship with no points deductions in their new guise And besides, even if they do they'll have no money, a **** poor squad full of frees and loans which will be one of the favourites for relegation

I believe AA is the only person saying otherwise.

If Pardew leaves, Cortese is going to make himself very unpopular

Funniest one I saw was when i was walking through Leigh Park at the time of the 2002 world cup with a couple of chavs cheering out the window chanting "England!!!, England!!!" Secured to their cars were 2 flags of Switzerland

The only player I can remember to have got into the Steve Davis league of boredom is Peter Ebdon

Speaking English with a Dutch accent...
JackFrost replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Lounge
Like I say if you spend months - even weeks speaking to no one except blokes trying to speak english to you with a strong dutch accent, your accent and vocabulary can become similar to theirs unconsciously if that is all you are surrounded by the majority of the time. It depends on the individual of course, but there are people who (e.g. talk with a southern accent) speak to a Welsh person on the phone and start talking with a Welsh accent themselves, completely oblivious to the fact they are doing it. Anyway fair play to McLaren, was always going to fail in the England job but has done a brilliant job with FC Twente -

Perfectly plausible. Bet that was the first time a lot of people here had heard him being interviewed since losing the England job -

If you live in another country for a long period of time you'll eventually start talking similar to what you hear around you. I saw a friend of mine recently who has spent 10 years in the states and claims he doesn't talk with an American accent, right after asking for 'corrrfee' -
The sad fact about the state of the Labour Party is Gordon is the best they have.

oh dear god, anyone seeing Avram talking on Fratton Park after their game on SSN? Who the hell does he think he is? "They can take points from us, they can fight us when we don't pay our taxes but they will never break our spirit" etc.etc. When it comes to PR, that man is as bad at it as Gordon Brown

I think where we really lost it was a few weeks ago when Huddersfield beat Walsall 4-3 when being 3-2 down after 89 minutes. If Walsall had hung on and we'd won our game in hand we'd have been 2 points off the play offs with 4 games to go, and the pressure would have been firmly on Huddersfield. I genuinely think we'd have nicked the last play of spot. That 4-3 win was a MASSIVE result for them

The kid simply isn't good enough, he gets muscled off the ball too easily and doesn't possess a great 'presence'. I've seen him play a few times and one occasion summed him up perfectly. A few years back in a reserves game, the opposition winger was shouldering him off the ball and out muscling him all night and White couldn't get going at all Their wingers then swapped sides and 5 mins later White got subbed for Alex Ostlund. The winger tried the same thing with Ostlund and ended up flying 6 feet through the air horizontally and landing on his back I do miss AO, shame his body let him down forcing him into retirement at just 31. I'd have welcomed him back any day. May have lacked in talent but made up for it by hard work, tough tackling and being as strong as an ox.

I think motor racing as a whole is getting more processional. Watched the BTCC this season, nowhere near as good as it was in the 90s
